Idaho the age of consent is 18. And it has ruined a lot of young mens lives who turned 18 and thier girl friends were still 16-17. Whose parents found out they had sex, or the girl got mad later at the boy. Archaic law that ruins lives and does nothing to enhance society.

Were you two having sex? Isn't that what the problem is here? If the guy really loved her, then he would have waited until she was of age. Having sex with an underage girl is illegal, it doesn't matter if you love each other, it's what the law says. You can't just choose what laws to follow.

Ok, you win.. the girl in the story was actually 14 when the OP story started to happen, that is way too early indeed. Also in my situation, due to our personal religious beliefs we did not get together before marriage.

I am still not 100% convinced that the guy in the OP should go in prison for too long, that kid needs support, and he should be allowed to contribute.

I wasn't trying to "win". I was making a point that a matter of 1 or 2 years age difference makes a difference in people being o.k. with it or burning you at the stake. Basically, IMO, it should be on a person by person basis due to the fact that everyone matures at different levels at different speeds and at different times.

Btw, Congrats on your marriage to your wife .

See? If you love someone you can wait until you're married, or a legal adult. This guy should have waited too, if not for religious values then common sense. You DO NOT have sex with minors. Why is that so hard to understand?

Mr. Galvan didn't care about the girl, because he slept with her while she was a minor and didn't even use protection (it's STILL wrong if you use a condom, btw) and he didn't even care about himself for the same reasons. He could have gotten a disease and, because of her age, get his butt hauled off to jail.

Where's the father of the girl in all this? Maybe she dated and older man because of some unresolved issues with her father.

That is the right way to go about it I cannot applaud you enough for that. If most people would think that way there would be less crime and less poor people on the planet. Good for you both.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. When I was younger (15-16) I dated a girl who was 6 years older than me, as she didn't know my age at first and thought I was older, and when it finally came up we had a thing for one another. That lasted a few years and we fooled around too, so I can empathize with their position.

Even the twenty-year-old girls I meet seem like emotional time-bombs . . . I can't imagine a fifteen-year-old girl is any better. So, though I can empathize . . . I still don't know how I feel. It seems different when the girl is the younger one.

Yeah he is prolly a piece of crap who shouldn't be in the equation....Welfare is better than getting beaten to death....

My great grandmother was 14 when she married my great grandfather he was 24. I honestly did not feel this pedophila in anyway. I personally like women who are at least 21. I am a lesbian and this girl had a crush on me. She was always showing up and flirting etc. I kept turning her down. She knew what she was doing she was 13-15 not sure the exact age because she told me different ages. When I first met her she told me she was 13 and one day she told me she was 18! Teenagers hormones are really out of control out this age.
As an adult I believe we do have a responisblity to behave like adults. She pursued me pretty hot and heavy but I felt in no way willing to lose my freedom over someone who was immature. This girl was attractive but I knew that though she looked 20 she was much younger.
I don't blame a man for being attracted to a girl who looks like an adult. I don't consider this rape unless he actually did this without her consent. If she was 12 I would feel a lot more disgust for the man. I think they should make him take care of the child fincially and tell him to stay away from the 15 year old until she is legal age. I realize there are laws out there for a reason because kids do not always make the best desicions.
The mother should not be punished but make sure he stays away from the girl until she is 18 whether it be getting a restraining order or prosecuting him if he comes back around. Teens look up to adults so we have a responisblity to keep them safe.

I know because if I can see (as you clearly could in this case) that a girl is 15 then theres nothing about them that would make me attracted to them. So what, now the tax payers have to float the bill? Not the willing father? what is done is done, and putting a single Mother on welfare, and ruining a fathers life over it is non- productive...
