Right now it's not some ELE event that scares me as much as it would be a CME taking out the worlds power supplies. At least a ELE will most likely kill swiftly. A CME talking all electricity away in an instant is more scarier because no one is dead yet and the chaos is going to be unimaginable. No medications, no instant food, no running water out of the tap, etc. Most of the non 3rd world countries will go mad. Neighbor pitted against neighbor for survival. You can't just grab your rifle and go hunting when every other Tom, Dick and Harry is doing the exact same thing. It wouldn't be long before you may be on the menu. When hunger kicks in all dignity leaves.

What the hell dude, that sh*t isn't happening now and it also will not happen soon, get back to reality before you loose yourself completely....

I don't know man, why would they take up precious space with books? Surely they can just get them in ebook format and store them that way. Seems way more effecient to me.

But then, how would you run your computer without electricity??? After an ELE they'll hardly be anything left. No power grids for sure. No satellite communications, no nothing! Probably back to the stone age!

So it's a good idea to keep the hard copies so the wise old men hundreds of years in the future would be able to read and catch up on history!

These bunkers that TPTB are building won't protect them from the horrors that will come in the near future. Mountains will not hold, they will collapse.. They are too blind to see it for themselves, they can run, but they can't hide.

the pictures you are showing of the underground cave vaults with the semi trucks parkedin them, are the Kansas City storage vaults they have been in place for about 100 years now. thier space is leased by various compnies to store various items because the temperature and humidity never changes inside them-no mystery there

Oh I know there is not really any survivability for people on the surface of a planet smacked with a super flare or something,.....but just imagine what hard ass kind of person you would be if you did survive. That kind of person I don't want to meet.
With that in mind my comment was made only in satirical license because honestly deep down I know I'm screwed, but then again I was never getting out of here alive anyway right?

It annoys me to see all those doomsday scenarios, nothing has happened yet so why are you guys so stressed out about it? C'mon go outside and enjoy the weather, nature, cool people and all the other stuff !!

Well the paintings are really one of a kind. Sure you can reprint them, or have digital copies, but its not the same as a painting. Most books are a dime a dozen, although I could see wanting to keep the books that are rare, and kept out of circulation.

It happened in the 1859, Einstein. A solar storm hit earth that would most likely have wiped out all power today. Have you not heard about history repeating itself. If it was to happen today it would be devastating because unlike the 1800's we didn't rely on cellphones, electricity, computers, and everything else that rely on a power station. Before you attack someone about what they have read up on do yourself a favor and read some too.

Haha you think they didn't make their bunkers EMP proof with their own grids? No way the elite will even think about going without the creature comforts electricity brings. I bet they would die if they had to like one week in my shoes in the summer. No air conditioning, lmao.

i thought about that too... i researched for days and days ... natural caves i could "escape to" ... then thought about more... what if the entrance collapsed... id be trapped in a cave. LOL I think imma just sit on a beautiful mountain top and light up a spliff with the wifey and watch it all burn... that will be short and sweet... or hot and painful. lol either way... i think we are all fuc**d

I'm with you, I want to believe we will survive such an event but I also know that my days are numbered anyways and that I might not want to survive a disaster like this. If something does happen in the near future I wish us all the best. Even you "notimportant"

Haha, im reading those theories for about 10 years now, and they are always pretty much the same but always sligthly altered/editted/changed in somekind of way, for example that story that nibiru will come is very VERY old, it dates back to 1999, and it has still not come !!

So please do me and yourself a favour and stop judging someone you don't know, but I doubt it if you can handle that, I really think you dont have the brain capacity for it hehehe..

(please don't start on my grammar, im not US)

have you seen the movie "Downstream"?

It is kinda lame, but has a really cool set and backdrop for post-apoc. sounds like you are describing what the movie shows. or on a lighter note watch the movie "last night". noone survives in the movie, but they are given warning months ahead and live their final days getting closure and cherishing their lives, then whammo.

Your right, enjoy your life. Knowing that it could end at anytime helps me to get out and live. I hug my children more and show how much I appreciate them daily. If nothing happens then what have I lost? Nothing.

I would go outside right now but it's raining.

i would only wanna survive if it was a suitable place for my wife and daughters. i would rather spend the final days forming a million man posse and destroying the elites before they can get to their bunkers.

1. they deserve payback, i'd like to go out knowing we eradicated them.
2. i don't want them to re-emerge post-apoc, then their machine will just start over and make life hopeless for the lucky few that do survive

Oh, by the way my Avatar is to make you laugh not to make you think that I believe in Nibiru is coming. I get a lot of people thinking I must be a true Nibiru believer because of that. It's my humor. Sorry.

My opinion is that of many here on ATS.
If some global catastrophe is to befall us, what could we ever hope to do to stop it. Even if there was a way to survive would the post life be worth living?
So like I said, my opinion is simple, until I die, today, tomorrow or 50 years from now; I will live as though I will live my life as though i would live forever. If I die before eternity begins, then I'm ready. I was never promised long life, and I'm grateful for what I was given.

yeah but those on the lower end of the totem pole haven't considered why they are being spared. which is to be the servants. doing the s-h-i-t jobs the elites can't possibly bring themselves to do.
