Sorry Boondock it's nothing personal and im sure you are very serious and interested in the politics of your country, but in all seriousness, this thread was started as a punn and a joke.

What a disaster of a thread.... and to be honest no i wouldnt vote for you. You might be good at contributing to ATS but politics is a whole other ball game....

Your very similar to an opposition campaign, very good at discrediting and putting the government in power down, but no real vision for the future.

No, I would not re-implement the gold standard
however I do believe in a monetary system based
on an asset rather than an imaginary virtual
set of digits.

And yes I would end the Fed and place control
of the US monetary system back into the US Treasury's hands.
And fire Timothy Geithner.

I think repealing every single EO would be too drastic
of a measure. But there are certain ones I would repeal
like Bush's pardon. I would also repeal the US Patriot Act.
And I would make future EO illegal without congress'
approval.

But, I digress, I actually do agree with you on these topics. Maybe I judged you too severely, but I think some of if may usually be the tone you use.

I don't think you could show yourself to be a charismatic and caring leader, although some of these are good ideas.

Thanks for getting back boon. I think we agree on the same things except for high speed rail. I can overlook that. But, don't you think high speed rail would cut down the amount of traffic on our highways and give the public another low cost option for travel. I just think links to major cities would help the flow of commerce and also provide fast transportation for those people who like to keep their feet on the ground. Sure I would vote for you, who's your running mate?

I wouldn't vote for you and I agree with all the talk of ego stroking. Still, I'll bite and ask you a few questions.

You seem to be very vague and naive with most of your ideas. Getting rid of the Fed and the IRS are admirable ideas but you haven't even hinted at how you would do it. I know you know the president is not a king, he can't just clap his hands and have something done. These institutions have their supporters, plus they're mechanisms that have been integrated into our country. You'll have to do a ton of dismantling and you'll have to do it while legions of powerful people try to stop you. So, how would you do it?

I don't like the CIA anymore than you do, but have you thought about what happens when you disband something like that? Suddenly, you have a bunch of trained and connected operatives who are now cut loose and are probably angry. I'm not saying all of them would cause trouble, but more than a few would probably get up to some detrimental mischief, either working for enemies or taking it upon themselves to cause trouble.

My second question. IF, and this is a mighty big if, you do run for president and IF you win, what would you do if you couldn't keep your promises? What if you couldn't get rid of the Fed and the IRS, if you couldn't bring the troops home, etc? Would you step down or would you continue to serve? What if you managed to fulfill promises, but they somehow made things worse? What would you do and how would you feel?

Yeah and by your logic I absolutely do not know any candidate that has ever run for President. Granted I have never donated $$ to any of them either but I am just cheap I guess. So how is this different from any other candidate? You telling me anyone who ever contributed to campaigns personally knows the candidate, because me thinks thats not the case even if the person has been in the media limelight. Usually what political candidates portray publicly is vastly different than what they are out of the cameras view.
