You guys might already have seen this, but this site shows every earthquake in sequence for Chch:
www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz...

FYI, I found the above when reading about the possibility of volcanism being involved with the Chch quakes. I don't want to be alarmist, as I don't think there's enough evidence for that yet, but just so you know some people are talking about it... www.iceagenow.com...

My apologies if this has all been said and done before.

The wind is strong today and the conditions are terrible here. Its like a huge dust storm anywhere near the city. All the silt/sand from the liquifaction is just making a huge mess. People are wearing facemasks.

Here's whats really going on in Christchurch.....

Christchurch is now broken up in to three cities:

Rescue City - Shower City - Refugee City

The severity of Refugee City has been shockingly NEGECTED:

www.nzherald.co.nz...

I want to know why there has been no attention by media to these suburbs? If there is a shortage of help....GET IT IN THERE NOW!!!

Please pass this on so these people can get some relief. Most of them in Refugee City have no running water, no electricity, they can't flush their loos, no gas for heating...etc etc.

Thanks

The media does appear to be neglecting the East Side for the more 'media sexy' story about the CBD.
It's despairing going to the Eastern Suburbs and encountering raw sewerage mixed with the liquefaction,no power, no water, just swirling dust and the stench of decay. Damn this wind.
Many, many tons of material have been removed already, but there is such disarray in the East yet the people are (mostly) resolute.

A few quakes overnight. Some 'strange' ones with nary a rumble and just a short jolt, quite different from the majority which rumble then shake.

Their will be a "Super Moon" on the 19th of this month...Then again, about the middle of April. When according to the moon man things should settle down for the next few years. So it might be prudent to be prepared....If I remember right..the 5th..8th..19th ..of march are dicey..note Wellington has just had a 4.7..after a 3. something the day before. Its all been well massaged and if a big one is likely to go off it would be about now,.

Seen this

BBC News reader Gillian Needham took this image of central Christchurch moments after the quake struck

I noticed yesterday a good 50% of the aftershocks had shifted back towards Darfield

A little touch of humour:

So much dust everywhere. Wipe down a surface and not long after it needs re-wiping.

I'm sure there is asbestos dust at least in the CBD. Plenty of unseen hazards around. People are getting cranky and more tired and driving like idiots at times.

Road crew outside on the street fixing the road. Their machinery causes the house to shake a little.

Aftershocks continue.

Noticed the aftershocks shifted a bit more back towards Darfield on the 14th UTC, 6 Darfield, 8 Lyttelton
I'm saying anything west of the airport/Hornby, and SW of Halswell is related to the Greendale Fault, the rest to the Lyttelton quake. Have they given the Port Hills/Lyttelton fault a name yet
