Few pictures of Jin-class. Is there several difrent versions? Missile section looks smaller in new photos, unless i'm seeing wrongly... perhaps JL-2 is ready?

Compare missile section to sail.

This picture was taken this year.

This one was taken 2008 or 2007.

Yes...a very slow missile...of course it was

the guy filmed it for 10+ minutes...please take a moment to explain how a missile going at 18 thousand miles per hour was moving soo slow at the same time...did it happen to go into some sort of time vortex?

the most simple answer is its a contrail...why? it looks like a contrail, it acts like a contrail, and its slow like an airplane.

As a person whom lives right down the street from nasa, I have seen many a rockets and such going up...they move pretty bloody fast...there is no mistaking or splitting hairs between the two...

-sighs-

nevermind...go on believing every contrail is a missile...I guess its the new thing because of the chem trail nonsense becoming unbelievably silly.

I'm not taking sides here.. I don't know what it was, but, how far are you away from Nasa?

The point I'm making, is that anything 35-50 miles away is going to look incredibly slow.

I am not of the ilk that believe it was a missile but you get a star for that scenario! You could be the next Tom Clancy

How do you know for sure that it was a chinese missile? Do you see anything on the picture that indicates it belongs to china? =S
If not, then I would like to know why you would make such statements?

If it was a missile it would be moving way faster then what was shown in the video, (approaching several km per second). Where did the missile land and or explode? Why has the Chinese government not come forth and claimed it was them? The missile theory holds no water and the pic you have is being interpreted in a way to see what you want to see. There is no evidence.

How about the AirForce general who stated he knew for certain it was a missile and not a plane? How about other people in the military who said the same thing?

But, wait I can see how its easier to believe what the news casters read off their teleprompters. Or because some dude (who has a picture of that weird guy from 3rd Rock from the Sun) bombards you with cynicism and condescending posts.

Nope, the o.p says there was no fire from it. it just disappeared and even though it exploded on impact, the other missile survived, crippled of course. But in the video you cant see it because it happened so fast then poof, no trace, just a plume. trail, whatever you want to call it. Maybe i can put the same picture up and put wind charts on it showing the smoke trail was being munipulated by the wind and not a second object. Wait. strong winds out in the ocean, that cant be right can it?

What a fanciful imagination.

You know some people look at clouds and see alien motherships...some even post pictures outlining the ship...little arrows explaining the different parts of the ships...and coming up with a 100% fictional reason as to why these alien ships look like clouds.

But you know what...they are still just clouds.

You can make yourself see just about anything if you really really really want to believe it.

Can I just say HELL YES!

There has been such a drought of REAL hardcore conspiracy lately.

This is exciting!

But what shall we be called? not Truthers, or Birthers.... Perhaps we should call ourselves Missilleers?!

PS Stars and flags for everybody.

Yes Phage and....... Occam Razor sided with the "Venus verses UFO" theory too!

I don't purport to know what happened but I just can't accept the jet-contrail excuse. Not that I want this to be a missile (because that means, we're screwed as far as protection) but it just doesn't resonated with me. I could be wrong.

But if it was a contrail then, why aren't they reported (and mixed-up) more often?
And why did only one plane (in a highly condensed flight route) make this contrail that evening (or was it morning as some reporters have said)?

Again, my BS radar is sounding off and I can't seem to shut it up!

You must have missed my thread....the lazer isnt having a lot of success lately.....
Boon, i agree with yourt analysis, to a certain extent, but wonder if this could be a NK tapoding missle from one of their recently modifyed Sang o class subs?
This is to my mind a more likely scenario considering we already know what the chinese can do and they have no urgent need to show us , or give us the opportunity to test a pac11 against their missles.....
The NKs are aalways trying to destabilise things in the pacific region, and starting a shooting war with china could have been their objective no?
As far as missle or plane i have to go with missle but maybe not chinas.....?

Weatherman Kevin, is that YOU???

ROFL, I didn't even know who you were talking about, but after searching, I found the youtube video on GLP. Sorry, not trying to be a "Weatherman Kevin," just trying to keep everyone open to all possibilities.

Eh, you may indeed be right. I'm just glad we can share differing opinions/beliefs/interpretations without fighting about it. I've seen contrails get quite distorted by wind before, so that was my angle, but maybe the wind couldn't do that. Hopefully we'll know sooner or later, 'cause I'd hate to think that the US and China could be exchanging blows while the world sits in the dark wondering what's going on.

Nope it just cant be a missile. That would upset my standard of living and my doctor/psychiatrist said that if I have anymore negative/bad thoughts I will need to start a whole new set of administered drugs. SO it's a contrail damn it stop ruining my day and life! The news media said so too. I mean they cant lie? Can they?

If you're claiming it was a missile, why aren't you comparing the photos to other missile firings instead of to plane contrails?

Oh, because they don't support your theory. Missile contrails tend to be VERY straight, very direct, and quite thin.

I've noticed a lot of posters are asking why test there? and what was being tested.

I would like to remind older posters of the cold war, the probing R&D that went on everyday.

And sometimes a complete system test.

I shall endeavor to build a plausible scenario and i will begin with what was being tested.

1. Satellite recon and communications system.- necessary to detect and track a launch and relay command guidance in real time, who's missile's do they want to detect? the USA, since the USA doesn't oblige with a launch when you might want them to, they have had to simulate one with there own missile.

2. The missile itself, a new generation missile, two-stage possibly hardened for survivability from interdiction.
Payload in this instance would be instrumentation to measure loads and possibly a radar unit for interdiction detection/avoidance.

3. The Submarine, a new class, simple test of penetration into US waters, missile launch system and evasion.
This is the political hot potato because all nations with SLBM's these days would seek to launch them as close to the target nation as possible to guarantee a strike.

4. The detection systems and Intel network of the US, the Chinese are well aware of US detection abilities so they new it would be tracked, what they didn't know is how far the US has penetrated Chinese intel to know that it was a test missile and not a surprise attack.

5.The political payoff from a successful launch.I would contend that this is the part being discussed at the highest levels as we speak.

The Chinese have successfully tested their system and confirmed their suspicions about US penetration of Chinese state secrecy.

The US has successfully detected and struck an SLBM at close quarters in its boost phase but has revealed it's foreknowledge in the process.

I would say we have a draw 1-1.

That's all i can add to the thread at the moment.

Yeah you're right it does sound like a Clancy novel, but the truth is always stranger than the fiction.

something to think about. it wasn't a plane is the only fact I am sure of.

any idea where it went? any rumors of a hit somewhere or a splashdown? any sightings in western Canada or Alaska?

and there has yet to be any response from Phoenix and the Newfoundland sightings either. hellofa lot of unanswered questions.

I've yet to see a better explanation than the one from that link to the website with the 808 us airways flight.

Secondly if there was a second missile. Where the hell did it come from? If it's from an onland missile base then wouldn't the plume of the second missile be comming in at a different angle?

Does anyone have a link to the satellite footage of the plume?

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the FAA say it was a Honolulu to Phoenix flight? I can't find any airline that flies from honolulu to phoenix, and I don't understand why it would seem to be flying north?

US Airways Flight 808 on 9 NOV

Not sure if it helps but the helicopter shot to me looked like it was heading NORTH or NORTHWEST, and the 808 flight stayed south of LA.

I'm not familiar with the geography there though.

possibly not a direct flight? would head north past mexico then onto the u.s.

worth looking into though.

That was the flight path for that exact flight that evening.

If the helicopter pilot saw it traveling in from west to east he would have had to have been in San Diego.

But if he was in LA and looking out toward the sea, this thing definitely crossed north of LA (808 crossed south of LA) This would put them dozens of miles apart.
