Unfortunately, that day is unlikely to come any time soon. Those pictures do exist. In color no less. All the way back into the 40's. But you and I will probably never see them. TPTB are going to keep handing out just enough little teasers and tidbits to both sides to keep us all arguing over something neither the skeptic nor the beleiver can ever truly give a definitive answer on. Because they own all sides of the argument. And will continue to do so until...

What he said...this angle does not trick the eye as much as the other one. It seems to simply be an odd formation, especially from the angle in the OP picture.

You should see the weird natural formations on Earth...they are far more bizarre

As for this "structure" well i know i've come in late here but it's just another "face on mars" situation. Things can look very strange depending on the angle and humans love to see patterns and familiar things in random data. However it should also be remembered that with all of the amazingly random events going on in space that occasionally something might look very artificial when it's actually natural.

Nature is weird.

interesting topic , having seen many pictures of the moon with colour added by the movie crew who made the film it does show some very interesting objects ive come to the conclusion that either man has put a team on the moon or left alot of man made structures , or the moon is hollow and were not alone . what i like about the two obejects in question is there seems to be a line joining them together maybe a road ?

Everyone knows already of the "Giant's Causeway" in Ireland, right?

Just one Earthly example of strangeness. No "alien" builders, just Nature.

Are you interested in conspiracies at all phage? (especially space/ufo stuff) I don't understand why you spend all your time here debunking.

If you can't defend your evidence, do not attack another member. He does not need to qualify to you why he is here. I'm sure Phage is interested in conspiracies. Ones that are true. How about you? Are you not better off for knowing the anomaly is a natural structure? Or would you prefer to drown in ignorance?

Debunking the topic is a measure of involvement. Is there some part of that you're having problems comprehending? There's nothing weird about showing you the truth or pointing you in the right direction. You seem quite upset that Phage has actually helped people in the thread distinguish the difference between truth and fantasy. Why are you taking this so personally?

He must be a dis-info agent or government shill right? Please! Your posting in this matter personifies another bad attitude on these boards that needs to be corrected by staff.

I'm certainly not attacking anyone. I'm just making a startlingly obvious observation. I can't understand why anyone would frequent these types of sites if you don't believe in any conspiracies. It's not just phage, there are a few residents here who simply don't do conspiracies, and when try to debunk them at the earliest opportunity.

Anyway, how can I discredit someone on the internet that's anonymous?? Surely you can stand by what you posted if your so intent on being a thread killer extraordinaire? And I'm sure phage is a big boy who can fight his own battles as well.

Conspiracies are what makes ATS remember. So if I wanna say phage is a paid disinfo artist, I will.

If you want to you can, I'd happily pay Phage to do what he does because he does it well, it's not "disinformation" or even "misinformation" if he has the required evidence to debunk rediculous claims of "smoking guns" in threads like these.

It's not that people like Phage irrationally refuse to believe in conspiracy theories, it's that they are skeptical until logic and good reason are applied with the required evidence or proof.

I think Phage does this well. Carry on spreading some half-baked idea that he is a "disinfo agent" and i will continue to disagree until you provide evidence to support this.

Phage's pic site is the same as the op's. In the op's, Sol is only 4 degrees above the horizon as it states in EnhancedInterrogator's post and link. It looks blurry? The reason the op's photo does not look blurry is because it has shadows that give you an idea of edges and peaks, whereas Phage's photo find leaves no part in darkness.

Just as a side note. Not everyone believes the causeway is a natural formation. Even after hundreds of years, there are still debates on it's origins. Nevertheless, your original point is well taken.

Well said. Everyone enjoys investigating conspiracy theories but come on OP, at least do a little bit of research before claiming "smoking gun"(s)

And yet... as you say... you "feel the need to point out" making yet one more post when you could have simply avoided the thread

Perhaps you should do a study on that... why people feel the need to add to a thread when they know (and say) that threads like this have no value

I did that other study... made three threads after a skeptic asked me why people don't do serious threads... so I did

I did one serious thread on the Fossil Evidence on Mars... the thread got several applauses from staff, but barely made it to page 2 and is since lost in the basement somewhere

Yet the two others where I used sensational titles got umpteen flags and stars and made it to 15 pages in the same time frame as the serious thread.

And you know what? MOST of the posts were skeptics posting their opinion "its only rocks...your nuts" type of posts. And the original skeptic that made the challenge? Well he never di visit the serious thread

So if you want to do a study... I would start there.. Identify the need people have to enter a thread and tell everyone how crazy they are

Without the "smoking gun" sensationalism.

I agree... the 'smoking gun' is over the top and abused... but it does draw the crowds

including you

perhaps.....

However, educated people, to include the types of EXPERTS who go to school to study such things, and train and learn and have careers understand the science...THEY KNOW that it is natural!!!

Similar structures

Although the basaltic columns of the Giant's Causeway are impressive, they are not unique. Basalt columns are a common volcanic feature, and they occur on many scales (because faster cooling produces smaller columns). Similar sites include: the Prismas Basálticos in Hidalgo, Mexico, the Los Tercios waterfall in Suchitoto, El Salvador, Fingal's Cave and the 'Kilt Rock' on Skye in Scotland, east coast of Suðuroy, the Faroes, Svartifoss in Iceland, Jusangjeolli in South Korea, the Garni gorge in Armenia, the Cyclopean Isles near Sicily, Devils Postpile National Monument in California, Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, the Organ Pipes National Park just outside of Melbourne, Australia, the "Organ Pipes" formation on Mount Cargill in New Zealand, the "Rocha dos Bordões" formation in Flores, the Azores, near Twyfelfontein in Namibia, Gành Đá Đĩa in Vietnam, Cape Stolbchatiy in Russia, Coloanele de bazalt in Racoş, Romania, Fingal Head in New South Wales, Australia, the Hong Kong National Geopark in High Island Reservoir in Hong Kong, China, and on St. Mary's Islands on the west coast of India and in Riyom, Nigeria.

AND that is just the Wikipedia refernce!! Anyone can research into those sites, from other references, and find similar results!!!

"Not everyone believes the causeway is a natural formaton"....MY A$$!!! (Maybe Billy-Joe Jim-Bob from east bumble-fork nowheresville, ANYstate, USA perhaps.....).......

Ah such marvelous arrogance... If I had time I would make a list of all the failures of these 'EXPERTS' but that would take me several years
More often than not fantastic new discoveries are made by those who are outside the box... while the ever so smug peer group sits in judgment and ridicules them. Sad thing is that the original thinker usually ends up poor and dead before the 'educated' peers finally realize they were right after all.

Now if I wanted to talk to people of that type I might hang around a Physics forum or something... but the arrogance at most of those sites is oppressive

Now then while your spewing out irrelevant facts... can you link me to;

A) ANY proof that the conditions on the moon are the same as the conditions here on Earth that form hexagonal cleavages in basalt?
B ) Any images of similar hexagonal basalt formations on the surface of the moon?
C) Any scientific report that shows any sign of hexagonal basalt formations on the moon?

Just because basalt exists on the moon does not automatically mean that every lone rock on the surface is a basalt formation. So until you can PROVE to us that basalt forms hexagonal columns on the moon, you really ought to step off that podium

Zorgon, what I find deliciously ironical is that the attitude of these 'experts' so mirrors that of those who persecuted the likes of Galileo & Darwin.

If asked they would probably associate themselves more with Galileo, rather than those who ridiculed & threatened him for going against accepted wisdom.... but the truth is that every age has it's free and original thinkers, not afraid to push boundaries, and those who would defend the status quo (whatever their reasons for doing so) by heaping scorn and ridicule on those who would challenge their paradigm.

It's a shame that so many scientists have become a shallow caricature of what they should be... Discoverers and Explorers, rather than Regurgitators, arrogantly wallowing in their self-importance.
