God forbid people get excited about something? Who cares if it is rational to you or not? People are people and will speculate no matter what. I am all for it if it gets people to think and discuss something.

Nothing wrong with that, but the outcome to those will kinda upsetting. Remember a few months ago that NASA found something nice, and at the conference they talked about minuscule bacterias found in space. Didn't meeted my expectations.

I understand and agree with you 100% on this.

As crazy as it may seem some people will not be happy unless it is total disclosure or total impending doom for earth.

Thats why I like these forums. Everybody has an opinion and to me it is great to be able to sit down and read what people think. I for one hope it is spectacular in nature.

Same, but i guess that never will come from NASA since i listened to manny conferences of them. Lets hope for the best!

What amazes me - and indeed I find it quite a sad indictment on the intelligence of poster here - is that NASA make an annoucement of a new discovery of immense interest to cosmologists, and because it's not what ATSers what them to have announced, they assume NASA are lying

I don't think they are lying, in fact if they do talk about the bubbles then that's great because I want to find out if the bubbles are what they/we are witnessing by these photographs could be the slow process and creation of a traversable wormhole. The pictures look very similar, that of the gamma-ray and the theory of a traversable wormhole.

I think ATS'ers could be described as children on Christmas day, they see there presents and they are all wrapped up. As they rip them apart they are hoping for that present they hoped for only to find a pair of socks knitted by their grandmother.

Essentially the Chinese article is referring to a 'winged creature' or a 'winged object', or perhaps a 'flying creature'/'flying object'.

Previously undiscovered comet (which is a flying object of sorts) or astroid that will get a little too close?

...and that is why they are sending up secret missiles to try and stop it....

Isn't Nibiru mean't to be winged, too?

Ah, an Object! but what kind of object, I object..

Object (philosophy), a thing, being or concept Entity, something that is tangible and within the grasp of the senses
Object (grammar), a sentence element, such as a direct object or an indirect object
Object (abstract), an object which does not exist at any particular time or place
Object (mathematics), an abstract object arising in mathematics

Part of the NASA media release said, " we dont know what it is and we dont know whats causing it..."

" whats causing it..." ....thats the words you need to read..

Something is out there, something has happened and something has caused it to happen.

Another moon, a new astroid belt, a birth of a new star ...who knows....might be something really realy dull too.

That would be real cool if a new planet was forming in the solar system.

Scientists think gamma-ray emissions were the catalyst for star system formation. I remember a while back on the radio they said instruments were detecting huge blasts of gamma rays in our solar system. Maybe the gamma-rays bombarded somewhere in the asteroid belt and rocks are melting together as I type. There's not enough material in the asteroid belt to make a good size planet, but it will make a nice moon maybe. Hopefully there will be enough material to make a Death Star size body.

Hey, you reminded me of the movie, The Fifth Element. I love that movie. A planetoid body in that movie was racing for earth to knock it out and kill everybody.

I like the analogy of ATS members being like kids on christmas day and has to be said that many threads end up being grandma's socks!

I do hope this doesn't go the same way.

My guess is a newly discovered nearby Earth-like planet. I think NASA would consider that an important enough find to hold a press conference for.

Oh, NASA decided its ok for those under their control on this website and everywhere else that they may be permitted to accept more information?

not according to this scientist re cosmic neighbourhood :

The architecture of the Solar System was very likely controlled to some extent by the existence of planets like Jupiter," said Professor David Stevenson of the California Institute of Technology.

The gravity of the giant planet controlled the position of vast clouds of dust and debris in our cosmic neighbourhood and therefore what building blocks were available to form the other planets, including Earth.

gamma bubbles.

Is that some new Japanese pop star?

Joking aside, Chandra didn't discover the gamma ray structures, Fermi did. This was stated earlier in the thread. But alas, you couldn't take the time to read the thread, and only too enough time out of your day to post a noncontextual 2 word statement.

We wouldn't want you to over exert yourself.

haha your thinking of gamma bubblesitu, guys if we were going to see a planet coming in,would nasa tell all of us? i think not

What I will say is this--something that does bode well for it being fairly big news is the fact that they're releasing it on a Monday--giving it a full news cycle to be discussed, dissected, and taken in. May mean nothing, but who's to stop people from hoping? It doesn't sound like anything bad, and if it were, well, I don't think we'd hear about it, especially with a chipper sounding press release.
