This pictures are not new. Picture 1 is of an object on the moon apparently 20 times the size of Los Angeleas. Nasa blurred the picture, but after the picture was discovered Nasa changed the picture. Now there just appears to be 2 craters and no object.

Also the domes on the moon which are shown on in picture 3 are nothing new either. If you study pictures of the moon surface there are hundreds of this domes.

Nasa only show black and white photos of the moon to make the domes appear more like craters.

Jose Escamiliar documentary Moon Rising is about these domes and other moon phenomenons.

I think we can safely say this photos will not be what Nasa's press release will be about.

Whatever the announcement is about, I hope it's worthwhile.

One thought: Why would NASA blur out an object in a picture? Surely they would realize someone might NOTICE! The blurring wasn't done very well either. A simple clone tool would have produced an image that no one would have ever recognized. So why blur it at all, much less half-assed?

Well lets consider what exceptional means:

Exceptional means well above average; extraordinary; far beyond what is usual, normal, or customary.

Very exciting, I can't wait to here what there findings are later on today!

I am so excited what is it tell me.

IamCorrect "NASA Finds Youngest Nearby Black Hole"

WHAT!!!! what do you mean another black hole.

Iamcorrect look here.

Evidence for the youngest known black hole in our cosmic neighborhood has been found using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and other telescopes. The age and proximity of this object could provide astronomers with a unique opportunity to watch a black hole develop during its infancy.

But but they said EXCEPTIONAL OBJECT.
NASA why do you do this to me you know i am paranoid i need spaceships invasion some kind of space doom Black Hole Haa Haa

Star for you IamCorrect

Thanks

Can I get NASA T.V. in the U.K? Or even better as I'm at work, an internet feed?

Is this what this htread was about did it turn out to be a hoak or something or are these unrelated?\\Monday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m. EST

NASA Briefing on IceBridge Antarctic Science Mission

NASA will hold a media teleconference from Punta Arenas, Chile, to discuss the agency's Operation IceBridge. Researchers are using seven instruments aboard NASA's DC-8 flying laboratory to map Antarctic ice surfaces and the features hidden below. The data are critical for understanding the dynamics of ice in West Antarctica and its impact on sea-level rise.

The briefing participants are:
-- Michael Studinger, IceBridge project scientist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center/University of Maryland, Baltimore County
-- Seelye Martin, research scientist (sea ice), University of Washington, Seattle
-- Chris Shuman, research scientist (land ice), Goddard Space Flight Center/University of Maryland, Baltimore County

* A link to the streaming audio will appear here before the event.

This thread is about a recent discovery made by the Chandra X-Ray Observatory of an "exceptional object in our cosmic neighborhood". There will be a live news conference starting at 12:30PM EST. Didn't you get the memo?

But I'd also be interested in hearing about the Antarctic investigation. Haven't heard about that till your post. I wonder exactly what "features" they're looking for under the ice. Sounds like that will show up in the Atlantis threads...

My comment is simply because whilst I LOVE all things space, I don't see how anyone incuding NASA and those who post on this website can justify all the hoohaa and 'excitement' at something we know exists, even if we cannot have one directly overhead for all to see, for NASA to boast 'it's great news' is a little bit too much to swallow from someone we all KNOW edits their photographs to suit THEIR needs and to hide the truth.
And for everyone here to start "wondering if it's Aliens or motherships" and create lots of threads and posts without having to wait to get the real news its a bit of a disappointment to find its ONLY a black hole,
Allow me to explode with joy, yahhoo.

I just tried to watch NASA T.V and i got a messgae saying that it is for employees only? Anyone else having trouble?

I'd love to think this was something that is going to change man-kind forever but I'm thinking if this was so important, this meeting would surely have happened right away?

They will talk about the bubbles imo. Wish I could add more but its doesnt take long on these forums to learn that most of the storys here get hyped up to be something they are not.

If its not about the bubbles il eat my underpants.

Its not going to be anything exciting. Well, not in the ET sense anyway. If it was, it would not be released by nasa. It would be the government who would hold a conference. I think it will be about the bubbles.

edit on 14-11-2010 by ezwip because: left edge of the sun

Here's a youtube link if you don't want to download the mp4:

This recent clip shows a smudge/dirt/imaging error on the lefthand side of the clip. Notice when the sun is rotated, the black dot does not move. This shows that the object is not physically there! This clip is not a hoax, but a misunderstanding.

Guys, a nearby and young black hole is an awesome find! How can you say that it isn't exceptional? This is huge! We can learn a TON from it, if it is as close and observable as they have said. This is OUTER SPACE. Aliens are not necessary for outer space to be interesting and exciting! The phenomena of astronomy are beautiful and of a scale that boggles the mind... Why can't we be happy and excited for this new find which will certainly allow great strides in scientific thought?

Of course I am assuming the black hole is the "exceptional object"... I will be extremely surprised if the teleconference is anything else other than this black hole (edit: because a black hole this close IS an exceptional object in our cosmic neighborhood).
