Not only documentary evidence, but a photo of the same-shaped contrail made by the SAME flight 24 hours later. As Arby just posted a little while ago [hat tip!].

US Airways flight 808, Honolulu to Phoenix. Just like Zorgon posted here last night.

Yes, that's also true.
It's almost funny that they did a count of their missiles. Right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

That does not make a country's defense department look very competent. The world is watching, knowing the pentagon, and other branches of the military do not know for sure, what this is yet.

Thank You, that's a really good find. That conclusion really seems to hold water although I'm no expert. However I'm still reluctant to decide one way or the other. Having never seen anything even remotely similar really makes me think this must be something extraordinary. But I would prefer to believe the flight 808 scenario (which seems solid) and be done with it.

I just don't know...

I guess all anyone can do is stay alert for awhile and see what happens.

Not meaning to offend, but a photo of a contrail from a jet vs. the VIDEO of the event in question are very different.

Ok guys I'm back, I just gave the photos to my boss who is an ex military pilot who used to fly DC10s and spent plenty of years on air force bases n whatnot. I gave him the photos without giving him the story. His immediate response was "that's a rocket". I started cracking up and he was concerned why I found it funny and asked for more information. Once I told him the official story and told him it was a plane his next response was "there's something wrong with that plane". Just thought you guys my appreciate another source. Wish I recorded our conversation, my boss cracks me the hell up.

But Doug Richardson, the editor of Jane’s Missiles and Rockets, examined the video for the Times of London and said he was left with little doubt.

"It’s a solid propellant missile," he told the Times. "You can tell from the efflux [smoke]."

Richardson said it could have been a ballistic missile launched from a submarine or an interceptor, the defensive anti-missile weapon used by Navy surface ships.

you can believe whatever you like. To debate this is a jet based off of a contrail signature is going to be hard to convince military ops personnel, I see this thread has turned into the questions still of what it is you are seeing. In my personal opinion its a missile I have seen a few missile launches in my day, I have also seen the space shuttle launch a few times also. Their is a difference in how these different types of ballistic vehicles make different styled contrails. I suppose if you wanna apply science to this to try to prove its a jet due to barometric weights and balances in the atmosphere to reach your conclusion is ok as well. Yet what I find funny is, with that conclusion I think we would have already had an answer. This is one of the reasons why I think it is a missile and if you dont wanna call it a missile its a rocket. Or a rocket ship.

I just a read a piece on rumormillnews.com that it has been thought that the missile is what caused the shut down of the cruise ship. That it was some sort of EMP that was being tested to see how fast the reaction of the US would be and that it was sent by the Chinese from a submarine. I've read EVERY page of this thread and see both sides of the coin, however, I thought that this was something that has not yet been brought up in the thread. Forgiveness if I am incorrect.

Are you people kidding me. Here is what i think it was Jack.
Around the US there are lets call them Nice radar stations. The radar and the people that man them were and are watching them 24-7 365. If something breaks the horizon it alerts tracks identifies.

One this day when this happened. This would have been the events.

Missle breaks X" surface horizon. Thats right inches.

Alert is given that an unidentified aircraft is being tracked. If trejectory is incoming hostile this is I say alert condition X. Aircraft are scambling computer cannot IFF. This is huge. WW3 may be imminent. Red phone rings. HUGE Yes it is still red and yes it rings.
As this thing is flying we will track and plot strike time and possible strike location/targets.ID the so called UFO. If it is not ID'd or has a hostile trijectory. THIS is fact. Defcon is raised and aircraft are enroute at supersonic speed. White house notified scrammble WH staff JCOS.

If no aircraft were scrambled from said west coast bases then it was us all along.If not somone just pissed in our coffee and left the room as it is called. The missle you can see from the video is what it is a missle fired by someone. Simple as that. Now if NORAD say not us which is funny because they would never comment on this EVER. Same time of day, 24 hours after the one that started this thread. It's not as dramatic but it's similar.

these reasons may have been covered but i have two points to make that shoot down the airplane argument that has been put forward:

1) planes make contrails...at higher altitudes. the appearance of a solid contrail beginning from ground/sea is inconsistent with a jet-engine interacting with colder air higher up in the sky. missiles give off more exhaust and thus a 'con'trail at lower altitudes.

2) we are told it's an optical illusion because the plane is flying towards us from far away...except that we clearly see engine flares (flying away from us) in the video.

i believe it's a missile as a result.

What about those "UFO" (at least I was unable to identify the flying thing) @ : 02 sec and @:39 sec ?

This was also brought up by someone a couple of pages back. I wonder exactly what time the power went out on that cruise ship? The navy was bringing them food yesterday.

Update again.
They are saying the power on the ship was caused by a fire in the engine room at 6:00 AM.

My boss agrees, says the smoke is too dense for a plane without some sort of problems in which case it wouldn't be as high up as we see it. Interesting, very interesting.

I dont know about anyone else but I think thats a conspiracy in itself when we have experts...Janes Missiles, Senior Military, senior aircraft technicians etc etc telling us what it is " A Missile" !. then we still get posts shouting " contrail" !!!.... If jesus himself gave testimoney Im sure it would be ignored and the posts would still appear.

This tells you more about ATS than it does the actual event.
