I don't. Just fact checking and EVERY thing I've turned up only sources the un-named person used by NDTV. As I put in my post.....peoples opinion on the trip is open for debate. Also, I think India would be a very good ally, at the moment, for the US. Those are my only points

$200 million a day or $200 million for the trip - I really don't care which. It's gotta cost some big $ to get 40 planes to India and rent an entire hotel. Haven't these fools ever heard of video conferencing?

To me this is like a slap right in the face. I employ a number of people and I've forgone any vacation for almost three years so I could keep as many as possible. I did not have to, its just common sense. I expect the same from our Leader when he has just spent 3 trillion dollars of other peoples money and want's more. To me that makes the unnecessary lavishness of this trip a slap in the face.

Megalomania knows no bounds it would seem and its part of a pattern. Remember he chose to go to Marthas Vinyard instead of taking vacation in Florida when it would have helped their economy? How about the First Lady's trip to Spain where she took over an entire Luxury Resort for a personal trip. Yes she reimbursed the equivalent of a first class fare for her and her guests, but in reality that did not even pay for the first ten minutes.

If his head gets any larger they will have to get a forklift to carry it around for him. The entire Taj Hotel He is an elected Public Servant, not a Deity.

The trip itself serves no purpose I can see. Especially now that he may end up meeting with people who might be in jail shortly. As to the symbolism, really? What would that be? That our President is so full of himself he squanders his citizens hard earned money on nonsense? Remember they are about to throw out the bums there over some apartments. I don't think we can afford this and I don't think any Leader who could be trusted would even consider it.

People's opinion is open to debate about the trip....perhaps a different thread? To me, this thread was about the expenditure and no-one has been able to find any other source then NDTV. Which is using an un-named "important" person.

I like facts ( it sounds like you do too), and I check them. Your links provided no more conformation then the OP and were just recycling the same original NDTV story. I pointed that out. Nothing more, nothing less. Wait for another MAJOR news source to back it up with a named person coming forward. Get ahold of yourself man,,, we're all on the same page

There is nothing factual in the OP statement regarding the 200 million figure. The "source" of the numbers in unverifiable. It's just some person that wants to rant because he hates Obama. That gets old, really.

I'm just holding this thread to some standard of fact, which a lot of people are not doing because they would believe anything about Obama if it agrees with their model of hate Obama, he's the most evil person that ever lived.

I made no political statements at all. I merely pointed out that this OP is lacking in factual evidence of any kind. Anyone that bothers to apply an analytical approach can see that. It should occur to people that even at face value this is a ridiculous claim, and might need some hard evidence to be beyond the realm of abject speculation.

Prove it. It's an accounting issue, so go get some numbers.

One possible inference of this move could be that he no longer cares about the "adverse PR impact" of such lavishness. The big question is: Why does he no longer care? Is it because he knows that he would never be able to regain the massive popularity that he once had? Or is it because he knows that the economy is toast and it is only a matter of time before there is a "new economic order" in place? Or is it something else and he is just leaving the sinking ship?

I hope Obama ends up spending $400 Million per day during his visit. Its time for the US federal government to end, and the faster they spend, the faster they end. After it ends, hopefully the US can go back to the original idea of 50 separate states unified only on the idea of protecting human rights and protecting each other from unprovoked acts of violence... but not financially linked like now.

That, and they can outlaw theft of property not just for us, but for Uncle Sam as well who regularly takes without asking. Its very strange how if I take something without asking I'm a criminal, but when Uncle Sam does it, he is a generous humanitarian.

I think it would be great if Boeing and Lockheed got contracts in India, rather than Russians etc.

Obama may be bargaining to get a land missle site in India in case there is a war with China or Pakistan in the future. The value of this can not be measured with a monetary amount. It could be worth over 100 billion dollars. So, do not judge the political mission of the President with your narrow mind of limited imagination.

If you believe the president should be the front man for international corporations, using public money to secure deals for private interests, then we disagree on the duties of a U.S. president.
This is not to say that Obama is the first, only the latest.
