I don't know if our bitching matters any more but this trip, at this time is unbelievably extravagant and yet nobody has the balls to call him on it. We can't afford this! We certainly will survive without it.Still, this pompous, self-important **shole is going to take his whole entourage first class halfway around the world, and you and me are going to pay for it. Why wont any of the so called journalists press him on the cost of this needless trip? When millions are out of work, foreclosures at record rates and the economy is at a standstill, this windbag decides that frugality only applies to you and me, not him and his friends. 3,000 plus people in this entourage to Mumbai of all places. Maybe they aren't really heading to Mumbai afterall. Perhaps some bizarre and remote island is their actual destination. Something like Blofeld's hollowed out volcano.

India being quite close to terrorist power bases, the amount of security is likely to be a lot more than is required in the Buckingham palace. And the US brings its own fuel, food and water to India for the personnel.

I'm not approving of spending $200M a day, but I think a perspective is needed when looking at facts. Cost of doing business can be a b!tch.

I know it's a dodgy source but India Daily (please don't scream) has been saying (as well as others) that there are UFO's at the top of India near the Chinese Border.

UFO's as in a underground base, the public can't get anywhere near the place because of soilders etc.

The Indians and Chinese have also said that they have advanced technologies for Power soon so maybe there's a link here..???

Ditto. I even tried adding www and working the google. No luck.

I would have thought that Obama and co. would want to be in the country for mid-term elections, especially with how important these elections are.

To me, that stinks more than spending that much and bringing that many people with you.

I was only going to briefly pay attention tonight (just wait and hear about all of it in the morning), but I think I'll pay closer attention now.

The white house would use .gov not .com. Besides that I can't find it anywhere.

Why is this being reported as if it's fact? There isn't a source, the only thing is that there's someone who may or may not be pulling numbers out of their rear end saying something.

Until we see actual financial breakdowns of everything and see how much who is spending on what, we can't really say what's true or not.

We don't even have a sample of actual data, just a rumor.

Of course, this is the court of Anti-Obama conspiracy theorism, who cares about actual facts when we can attack Obama?

I don't care how much it's actually gonna cost, it will be an enormous number nonetheless. The issue here, is the fact that he's booked the entire effing Taj Mahal and is taking 3 jets worth of people with him that serve no clear purpose in their going. Quibble over the costs down to the cents if you wish, it doesn't take a genius to know that it's egregious to even suggest such a trip, much less carry it out and take so many with him.

Wow! I can't believe that. You know, they say taht the president only gets 200K per year as a salary. But, he doesn't have to pay for trips, so, it adds up.
