I vote for "its real" and therefore not a scam. You are getting all confused because it seems the only thing you can concentrate on is money. Money is a scam!!! Climate is real.

Instead of worrying about who is trying to make the most proffit off the money scam, I would suggest it is more important to pay attention to what is actually happening: the melting of ice due to increased temperatures, from whatever cause and start taking actions that can will ameliorate the problem to whatever extent possible, and at the same time, take measures to bring people at risk, like those living at sea level, to safety.

You can argue about money all you want, but when the oceans rise, and the weather gets freakin crazy, and that is exactly where we are headed, money will be the least of your worries.

During the Medieval Warm Period temperatures were up to 2 degrees C degrees higher than during 1998 and 1999, and in case you didn't know 2010 hasn't been that extremely hotter than 1998, yet people like you want to claim that life as we know it will cease to exist with temperatures 2 degrees C higher than they are now when during the Medieval Warm period temperatures GLOBALLY were up to 2 degrees C and PEOPLE WERE THRIVING AS WELL AS ANIMALS?...

You mean you can't refute the facts - and the fact remains that the DATA does NOT support your argument that humans are causing ANY climate change. There IS climate change - there has always been climate change and the changes can be quick and sometimes devastating - welcome to planet Earth. The ONLY reliable scientific bodies have data going back 40 years, that's it....Arctic ice is at basically the same level today as it was in 1979. Before that time, you have only the Farmer's Almanac (which, interestingly enough, continues to be as reliable as any other method of gauging seasonal weather patterns), written history and the work of Archaeologists to rely on. Greenland used to be warmer than today - under the ice in Antarctica are signs that it used to be a fertile plain covered with grasses. There are marine fossils in the desert Southwest of the US....these things were NOT caused by ANYTHING that humans did - and the "evil" technology that you blame for the current "crisis" was not yet invented and could not have caused it. Similarly today, the NATURAL warming and cooling of the Earth is responsible for what you are claiming humans are causing.
You responded to my posts very quickly - did you even go to the National Ice and Snow Data Center's website and look at the REAL data? I can't tell you how much I agree with you. I just didn't know which post to reply to first. There are so many and it would take much more time than I have or care to spend debating this issue.

First, Al Gore is a politician. He has no formal scientific education what so ever. Lets start with that. Do you remember the entire OZONE scare he started back in the 80's? Well, that failed, so he needed to come up with another brain storm, "Global Warming"

Just because NYC or Los Angeles has had warm summers over the past few years, does not mean the Earth is heating up at all. The science is ALREADY ESTABLISHED and the AVERAGE AIR TEMPERATURES HAVE NOT -- NOT -- NOT increased. They have in fact decreased over the last 100 years by 1/2 of a degree. This is a SCIENTIFIC FACT not a POLITICAL DREAMSCAPE to be used to destroy capitalism.

So why can't we just stop at that? Why do we need to constantly go around in circles debunking the same arguments that are fueled by politics and not science?

The sun is responsible for the earth's temperature. CO2 in the atmosphere is so small that it is negligible. CO2 is PLANT FOOD for the earth's vegetation. Humans put out more METHANE than they do CO2. So lets cut out Brocolli and other cabbage type foods all together to reduce methane!

Some people mistakenly believe that scientists have the utmost integrity and its simply not true.

First off, the guy in the first video supports Al Gore (works with him) and Al Gore is suspicious in they eyes of many because of the money he makes off of Global warming. That's like a criminal trying to get his brother to convince you that whatever he is doing to you is for your own good. It's the association that discredits the validity of the claims. Secondly, if this Global Warming thing is real, and i'm not saying it is or isn't....(I can't tell the lies from the truths), then why did the Global Warming scientists get caught recently altering the Global Warming data to make it look worse than it already was? That's pretty easy to answer. Since it has happened many times in the past in a PRE-INDUSTRIAL world, i.e. temperatures fluctuating, it must be a scam to call it Man Made Global warming and the fluctuations must be caused by normal earth/sun phenomenon.

I certainly believe mankind is having an impact on the climate. Not as much as say a volcano or when a huge meteor or comet strikes but we do impact it.

What I refuse to believe in is the call for central planning of the entire world to cure the problem. Disconnect these 2 issues and you will find far fewer skeptical people protesting the global warning cure. What makes people suspect of the entire thing is the fact that it is being used to sell world government. A global tax on carbon is not the answer.

Making people more poor and the wealthy 2% far more rich to fix global climate change is not going to fly.

Hate to inform you, but it is a hoax. In the 1970's a very similar idea known as "Global Freezing " was used as means to extort money from the American people, suggesting that we were making a difference during that time. At that time, they suggested that we were going to experience and Ice Age?. Only problem is, it never happened as they claimed. People got smart and saw through the propaganda.
Now, a few decades later, we have the alleged " Global Warming ", ( a little to much resemblance of the first title in the 70's ), and low and behold we have all this alleged evidence, that was questioned by highly respected scientists to be false. Not to mention, Al Gores's own scientist's defecting and coming clean.
Its all BS, and some of you are buying into it hook, line and sinker! BWAAAHHHAA!!!

"MAN" made global warming is a hoax.. NONE of the science makes sense. CO2 actually follows temps rather then temps following CO2. When the earth heats in temp more water vapor from the oceans evaporates into the atmosphere which raises CO2. As well as high decomposition rates of all matter, which also creates mroe CO2. The earths volcanoes create more CO2 then all man made CO2. Decomposition of leaves create even more CO2 then volcanoes and humans. Evaporating water in the oceans creates even more then all the rest put together.. "Man Made" global warming.. What a freakin joke.. Your statement that 97% of climate scientists say that CAGW is real and dangerous is a completely unprovable statement. There has been no mass surveys. The one you're referring to (usually cited by CAGW-zealots) I believe included 3,000 people and only a small portion of them had any expertise in climate science. Even if there was an overwhelming consensus though, it has to come from somewhere (i.e. some evidence that shows adding more CO2 to the atmosphere will heat the planet catastrophically) and it cannot come from a correlation or ice melting because that does not contain any information about what is causing the warming. I am still waiting to see what your overwhelming evidence for AGW consists of. Do you have any empirical evidence that MMGW due to CO2 is more than insignificant and dangerous enough we should be restructuring energy economies?

The Arctic is melting. 2010 had the 3rd lowest sea ice area but the LOWEST VOLUME EVER RECORDED.

Melting ice is a result of warming but it doesn't tell us what caused the warming. Making such arguments shows you don't understand "cause and effect". Methane being released from melting ice is also a result of warming and does not tell us what is causing the warming. Incidentally it's worth noting that the Holocene Maximum (around 5,000 years ago) was significantly hotter than current temperatures and the planet didn't warm catastrophically from methane due to melting ice and nor did species die-off en masse. In fact, the last three interglaciations have been much hotter.

The problems with global warming is THIS: I've spent alot of time in warm/hot places and I have to say I like it. Who's gonna complain if we have summer all year long and old man winter goes bye-bye? Not this guy (not me).

So let the globe warm herself up as much as she can because I say its' always better on the beach (muscle beach)
