If your correct about it being dis agents or sensitive information leakers then mabey they are attempting to hide something or they are trying to do a test run on conspiracy theorist abroad to get a feel of how things should be presented to the public. Due to theses many potential events that you are speaking of. To take it further if these 2 options were the case then it would seem something is in the AIR as many say. Other then that I dont know my 1 cent.

There's absolutely nothing stopping anyone. Everyone get's by with a little help from their friends. On the other hand, looking to bolster the membership of the new website by spamming on ATS is frowned upon.

Before you go, though... perhaps those who say ATS has nothing sane to offer anymore would like to attempt a thread like this one by member Rising Against. Either that, or put the time and effort into attempting to assist in getting to the truth of that historic event.

Everyone seems to be quick to blame and complain, but so few are willing to be part of the effort to turn things around. Go figure.

Actually ATS Members are cranking out more high quality threads than ever. Ones with a lot of good research, thought provoking speculation, that are well thought out and well laid out.

They just compete in a field of more threads than ever. Some of those are being published by people who are constantly improving their thread writing skills.

It's a challenge though to take a concept, an idea, a thought, and turn it into a living, breathing work of literary art.

Those who don't feel up to that challenge put together threads like this instead.

That's fine too. In part because I think it gives those people who do have a genuine desire to make the best threads possible to try a little harder in that effort. In part because it gives people who love threads like this a place to vent, goof and rant, that keeps them then from doing the same in the more serious threads.

It's just another strange form of self validation that we are all so oddly fond of!

ATS and life goes on!

You get a movie like 2012 which is based on some "truth", and it reaches the masses, who gobble it up like its 100% raw truth. People begin seeing things that aren't there, or misinterpreting the things that are there (Yellowstone's Caldera rising, Ice caps melting, Comets, Tectonic Plate movemets, etc). It's like the first time a kid watches the Exorcist and all they ever see is this face when the lights go out...

Its nothing new. Just a whole influx of people who are relatively knew to conspiracy thinking, who just spout off things that they've heard, but don't really understand themselves.

In an effort to prove a point I recently made the mistake of referancing ATS during a discussion with friends. I was trying to illustrate a point, and have done this in the past with great success.

The following day the ridicule thrown at me was pretty sad.

The thing of it was that I did prove a point and illuminate an area of thought for someone by using ATS as a point of referance. The problem was that they also looked at some of the other nuggets of wisdom thrown about on these threads and concluded I get most of my insight from grade school students with a petty poor grasp of the english language.

ATS is a great site with great contributors, but its begining to feel more like a social networking forum rather than the site of exploration and knowledge it used to be.

For those that are still inquiring into the world around them, I highly recommend

Its not as glamorous as Scully and Mullder, but the Truth is in there.

I think ATS had been infiltrated by modern days Hitler youth.

Just look at all those posts bashing USA, the big bad dog, and the praising totalitarian states get.
See the Holocaust deniers that pop out in massive numbers, like fungi after rain.
Read their speeches, and then go read some of Joseph Goebbels speeches. They are amazingly identical.

If you are feeling insanity creeping up on yourself or others, all you need are anchors to keep you grounded to reality, to know facts from fallacies, lies and deceptions. The well read and educated often stay grounded in this manner, at times good, at times bad, for they will forever hold firm in their beliefs even when truths are fully evident.

They do so because their beliefs become a cocoon they can find comfort and solace in. No human loves being dragged out of their comfort zone. But if truth is that which one seeks, then one must be prepared to watch that shelter of comfort and solace be shattered to pieces. The good news is that, with the truth, one can build a far better and stronger shelter than the one before. Thus one need not be afraid.

For the more ordinary masses, like me, will always have a basic anchor to stay grounded, and it is the basic principle of life itself - we humans are not born out of rocks. We came into this world through love, care and concern. Our ancestors were primidorial beasts first when they entered the world's stage, and with it -natural beast instincts that centuries of civilisation ( social engineering) had been unable to wipe out.

It is only primal instinctively to protect and defend our loves ones, just as our loved ones will defend us. It will be love that will keep you sane, no matter how outrageous and ridiculous your perception of society will become. It is either society will change you or you change society, but no man alone can change society for it will affect their loved ones, as they too care about their loved ones, thus you may need a rethink on your perceptions about society if you find yourself the odd man out.

Currently, matters are coming to a head, as many of the awakened had felt. Everyday is no longer a boring day as we learnt and educate ourselves on others perceptions, to accept or discard based on its veracity and relavance to our lives.

There are tons of info shared, discussed and debated daily. This is better than Warcraft or any other pop MMORPG. This is real and is happening right before our eyes - societal, economic, political and spiritual matters close to our hearts, more so if one is objective enough to click on the 'recent posts' button to see the wide and diversified but interlinked connections relevant to our lives.

We are being kept up to speed on instantaneous related happenings through the internet, something which was impossible a decade ago today but not today. You can gain an education on this site alone by the many worthy topics and postings by members.

It is for a purpose. To challenge your cherished, treasured and long held notions on the structure and foundations that helped you build your shelter of comfort and solace. Was it made of straws or mud that easily get blown away? If so, a rethink is in order.

In the meantime, enjoy the ride and stay close to your anchors. The movie 'Inception' had been a timely and truly illuminati ning mass media show to remind one of anchors when things get far out as it is gonna become soon. It is the only way you will stay sane in these maddening but revealing times

I have to agree.....

Not to sound like a whiny (female dog), but I have definitely noticed things around here sounding more absurd and ridiculous in comparison to say, even just a year ago.

I figure part of it is the fact that ATS is continuing to grow, and of course for every solid member who joins, we have 9 other members who do nothing to contribute in a good way to this community.

I find myself wading through an increasing swamp of BS, just to find a few jewels that make it all worth while.

I dont know if the resurgence of mainstream sci fi shows has anything to do with it also..... I mean, Im sure most of you reading this have encountered at least one thread a day that quotes or references shows like "V", or "The Event," as if those shows are FACTS, rather than pure entertainment.

I also have noticed a surge in pointless threads that are surely created for the preservation of the OP's ego, and not for the benefit of ATS as a whole. Its getting out of hand, and I cant help but feel the mods are over their heads in having to sift through dozens of frivolous threads, just to clear the way for the rare thread that actually is presentable and thought provoking.

Of course, it could be govt employed pests who come here to spread disinfo, or just to post a bunch of silly nonsense that only lowers the expectations, and the respect of the outside world (Those who dont subscribe to "conspiracies")

Perhaps, in addition to the 20 post pre-requisite to becoming a full fledged member, we should also force all new members to read and memorize the classic story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." We have ALL noticed the little boys crying wolf lately, and the sound is so loud that if a real wolf (ufo etc...) were to appear, it would go unnoticed..................just something to think about.

I'm gonna post this at the risk of being called a Misinfo Agent but, what if all of this UFO stuff latly is not real. I personally am a beleiver. But what if aliens never have ever visited earth. What if all of this stuff lately is a product of our goverenment/illuminati trying to misdirect all of the "out of the box thinkers" (aka us. The people who make up a good percentage of ATS and other sites). A couple people you have never met once in your lifetime make some claims on the internet. There are some conviently blurry pictures of UFO's every now and then. Strange lights fly about the sky. Things that the government is perfectly capable of creating.
Any one of these happens and our minds start racing of possiblities of something out of a science fiction movie becoming real life. Meanwhile in the real world, our government is preparing to go to war with any country that has resources that we are running out of.(oil, minerals and drugs) The almighty dollar is becoming more and more worthless with every passing day. Companies that run this country or mabey even the world caused the greatest man made ecological disaster that has ever hit the earth.(the oil in the gulf). Americans not trusting/disapproving of their own government has hit all time highs.
All of this is happening, and at the same time conspiracy rumors are running wild. There is less then .01% chance that you reading this will never see an alien and you will never see the apocalypse.
It is important to keep yourself educated about what is going on and keep pushing for the truth(whatever it may by) But dont let UFOs and 2012 distract you from the BS that our government is doing right in front of our eyes.

Although I haven't been a member long, I definitely see a change in the quality of threads. There does seem to be an influx of people in contact with aliens, or seeing UFO's. More so than I remember seeing in the not too far past. I still check the site daily though, because there will always be that diamond in the rough that makes it worth my time.
Sometimes when I am out in the "real world" I find myself having conversations with people and I have to bite my tongue and not bring up something I've read on ATS - just for the fact that I don't want people to think I'm crazy. Lots of times when I tell my boyfriend stuff I have to start off by saying "not that I believe it but,...". Some of the content on here is literally insane.

Maybe... in general people are confused and feel like something just isn't the same as it used to be, I know technology is really pissing me off lately and changing how people relate to each other. So people, since they feel so displaced, stop thinking as clearly.

As a side note, I know I can't follow the logic in the news or other media or politics as easily as I used to, either.

Yeah definitely been noticing the wild claims and blind belief sort of spiking the last few weeks.

Interestingly, I have also noticed a large amount of brand new members posting in some of these threads (and only these threads) on the very day they join.

The Gods have always been against me my friend. Well, ever since the NASA accident and they rebuilt me better, stronger, and faster.

What really got the Gods steamed was when they hooked me up with Lindsey Wagner!

I have been off ATS for a few months so yes I have noticed a drop in "critical thinking"

I am also aware from other sites that there are government DisInfo Agents. One, a government official, was caught leaving a terrorist type threat. The idiot did not know he left a cyber trail straight back to a USDA computer (snicker)

After that I had a couple of encounters with agents from Monsanto. I royally ticked off a Monsanto VP on line so I now have a tendency to view muleheadedness as a sign of a dis-info agent. This is especially true when they continually show up spouting the government/corporate/banker line every few posts and ignoring rebuttals by all the other posters.

We are coming up to some very critical elections in November. People I talk to are finally starting to "get a clue" about the fraud of Fractional Reserve Banking and the FED. The "curtain" is unraveling before the USA has been completely bankrupted. The States are investigating the bankers for fraud, Political candidates are looking at North Dakota's State Bank, high employment and budget surplus with envy. So yes I think you are going to see a LOT of dis-info agents busy at work trying to shore up that curtain.

I don't know.. but someone is obviously interested in causing some sort of chaos, best example for me is putting up old youtube ufo sightings, if you could call them ufo, and telling people that they're from October 13 2010..

As much as I'd like for such event to occur, i think this may be done to hide something else, so while everyone is concerned about UFO's there may be something significant going on somwhere else.

I completely agree. Quality of post and "proof" has degenerated greatly lately.

This whole UFO thing has gotten way out of hand with all the garbage threads from lunatics clinging to hope that we aren't alone.

So many troll threads being posted that you can't help but feel sorry for the moderators who have to wade knee-deep through this quagmire, people quoting from 'élite organisations' that can't even construct proper sentences and don't have spell-checkers on their high-tech comptuers >_>, it's dire.

Where else can I go though?
