i saw this movie on friday at 1:40 in a sold out theatre. i have to say that the audience were very hyped, there was a lot of laughing, groans and gasps when appropriate, and a standing ovation at the end.

michael moore is actually not in the movie that much, and when he is, hes not really being that rude or confrontational. he narrates most of the movie in a very sedate tone almost like hes reading a childrens story. the editing of the movie is well done, and the film gets across the message that most of the world already knows - bush is a moron. there were some facts in the movie that i did not know which i found interesting and i didnt remember bushs first day on the job with all the protests. a lot of the clips of bush show him to be a probably in the lower 50% in terms of brainpower. the slow mo clips of him were defintely very silly.

the downside to the movie is that towards the end it does lag a little bit. i believe that spend too much time with the woman whose son was killed in iraq, but thats just my opinion. that part where a random person came up to her and said "this isnt real" or whatever, almost seemed like it was staged.

overall i found this a very worthwhile movie that will inform a lot of uninformed americans in a cute 2 hour package what they would have to read books to find out otherwise. i recommend it. i have no political agenda because i cant even vote, but anyone can see bush is a bit silly.

Regardless if you think Moore is full of it or not....
Too many people take the words of the media and the government as the truth set in stone.
If this get's the people off their butts to do some research of publicly available information, then the film has done this country a justice.
I personally have been doing my research long before Bush Jr. was in office.
I also thought the movie was extremely mild, but I'm sure rather shocking and hopefully eye opening to the masses that have no clue about anything beyond their scope of reality.
No matter how you look at it, it's going to get the masses to the polls this election year!
Bravo for that!

We have like 3 or 4 theaters here where I live, I had called at least the two main theaters and asked if they were going to show this "movie" and was told NO, but was also informed as to which theater that was going to show it,..... so I called yesterday afternoon and bought four (4) tickets over the phone for a whole $20.00, so our seats would be reserved for us. Best $20.00 we had ever spent on a movie. This movie has been playing since Friday @ 4x's a day and SOLD OUT at every sitting, if you didn't call in and buy tickets over the phone than you were sol
.
The manager spoke before the movie started and stated,... quote; a regular customer came in on friday , the first day we were showing this movie and told me that if I do show this movie, he and his family will never come here again ! The manager than stated,... quote; people have been calling for weeks asking us to get this movie, so we did, and as far as I'm concerned,....... the voice of many out weight the voice of one, and it was worth it

Michael Moore stated in the movie, that he was not "siding with any political-side, Democrats nor Republicans,.... He just want to get the truth out to the public and let us decide for our selves. I'm pretty sure that if any of the un-decided voters see this movie,...... they will be decided by the time they leave the theater
.
Bravo to Michael Moore and what he has done to bring the TRUTH OUT into the public for viewing

I haven't seen the movie (yet) and I will once we find the time. However, I think many people need to ask the ?: Why has this movie been "allowed" to play in theaters? Are we to believe that there is so much freedom in the media these days that a movie such as this just "happens" to come out in time for the November (scripted political "Reality TV", that is) elections?

Think about it. Are we missing a few pieces of the puzzle? Why has Bush been set up to play the scapegoat and why has he "played" his part so well?

Who is really in control? Britain, or Israel? Russia, China, the US?

Whay are our emotions being toyed with like this?

What would we be doing as a human species, in the world, if there were NO politics, wars, economies based on profit, religions based on hierarchy and ESPECIALLY the "entertrainment" industry and so on?

Just my thoughts, flame on man!

"Dark to light..."

Interesting in that it indicates going from evil to good, but what's the "good"? Kerry? I see so much Bush bashing, but what's the alternative? Realistically? I saw Moore on tv the other night saying that it looked like Bush is on his way out. Assuming that's true, what's taking over for him that's going to be so great? Kerry?!? Does the movie do anything except send a message to remove Bush at all costs?

I don't mind if someone changes over from one side to the other, but it bothers me when people will vote for anybody who's up against someone just to get that person out of office. So if this movie is so powerful that it "converts" people, what is it going to convert them to? People who will try and elect a better president or people who will check any box as long as it's not Bush/Republican? I realize Moore's message mainly is to get Bush out... but what does he want in Bush's place? Just anything anti-Bush as long as it gets the job done?

Sorry only read 6 pages in... gotta post sometime...

As for FreeMason's want for "facts" and his comments regarding Bowling...

FreeMason: to quote you... "He blamed K-mart and Charleton Heston for Columbine." Wow! Did you watch the same movie that I did? From what I gathered he came to NO SOLID CONCLUSION about what caused it. The majority of the movie was him asking those some questions... Why did it happen? What influenced them? The K-Mart stuff was because it happened to have been where the Columbine kids bought the bullets, which is completely relevant because bullets shouldn't be sold to kids. PERIOD. Try to justify it for hunting, and I'll say their parents can buy the ammo for them... big whoop, minor inconvenience to minors. Adolescents have way too many hormonal issues to be trusted with ammo for weapons... sorry to all the teens here, but it's true... one day you'll look back and say "what was I thinking" and then realize you weren't.

And as for blaming Charleton Heston, Moore was essentially trying to find out why the NRA rushes to hold conventions in or near the towns that where kids were murdered in schools (shortly after it happens... which is why it's disrespectful to the community) and also to get Charlie's opinion on why we have such a high rate of gun violence compared to everyone else (other countries).

In reality, the movie did not try to provide ANY answers other than fear (and accessibility to ammo via Kmart). Fear does seem like the most logical motivator in our society. When comparing all the issues our society believes to be responsible, we aren't too different from other developed countries (in terms of the social/legal "environment" or "conditions")... There is no doubt that he asked all kinds of questions, and focused on some of them more than others... but if you interpreted the movie to be about blaming Kmart & Heston, I'd recommend watching it again and trying to be objective. He asks questions and raises points but really doesn't point the finger. Oh, and you forgot him "blaming" bowling too... but that, as his other possibilities, is just that... a possibility. I enjoyed the fact that he said "why can't it be this or that" versus what the media was saying (mainly covering gatherings by fundamentalist "Christians"... errr Reublicans), "it was marilyn manson & violent videogames" or because they were "losers & anti-social". In reality only those kids knew.

My questions is why was Moore so nice in bowling? The first finger I'd point would be at the parents. I grew up a goth kid, as did most of my friends, and you know what? I had parents that taught me right from wrong (as did my friends). No killing here... I played Doom, Mostal Kombat, etc & listened to "goth" music and heavy metal... Why am I not psycho? Oh that's right, because when you are an impressionable youth, it's the job of your parents to educate you on the real world. I'm not saying the parents are to blame entirely, but some of the weight has to fall back that way.

Now, as for wanting "facts" from F911? This specifically can't be percieved as "interpretation" or lying as it is coming straight from Bush & his administration's mouths. I'm talking about video recordings of Bush & his buddies contradicting themselves surrounding Iraq (via video clips from various news sources). A few press conferences in the months just prior to 9/11 (the Condoleeza one in 7/01 comes to mind) they stated Saddam Huessein poses absolutely no threat to America or it's interests. And this may not be verbatim, but it's pretty close, "they have no capabilities for creating or maintaining any weapons programs, and we have been very successful in preventing arms from entering the country". There were a couple people from Bush's cabinet (again Condoleeza being one) that assured that Saddam had NOTHING, then just a couple months later, they had "irrefutable proof" (as stated by Bush himself, and more of his cabinet). They knew for a "FACT" that Iraq had them as well as all of the locations. Then, again, shortly after that, they say "we don't know" and no talk of it since. Yeah, that's really freakin' credible in my book.

Seems to me like they said what the needed to to get the support they wanted. I see no honor or truth in what they have done. At least with Moore, he puts himself out there and says why he thinks what he does. He says it as he sees it and what that is. But Bush and his followers tend to say stuff, and have nothing to back it up other than "patriotism" and "love" for the country and it's people.

Please understand though, I trust Moore about as far as I can throw him. But the fact of the matter is that Bush and the Administration has been just as manipulative as Moore. So that's what I will take it as... neither side is 100% correct. Personally I'll take a healthy combination of viewpoints which provide me with a more balance ground to make up my own mind.

Anyway, got any other proof about the untruths in Bowling? And I'm looking for something in the way of "factual evidence" instead of "I wasn't really paying attention and this is what I walked away with".

Also, one more thing Freemason, the attacks on anyone that doesn't agree with you have got to stop man. First off, it doesn't do anything to make you seem more intelligent or better than anyone (as you love to tout). When you call people names for being "ignorant" in your view, it says something much different to the rest of us than you intend. Most of us are wanting to have a normal discussion (not flame war), and voice all sides, so that we may determine for ourselves. As for your Shakespeare quote... Tis very good... I also enjoy this one from Socrates...

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."

I saw it today and i was amazed.

Moore doesnt twist this like bowling for colombine, the whole movie is completly candid and all his little "pot shots" at the administration (like filming them when getting ready to go on air)

DOES NOTHING MORE THAN MAKE THEM LOOK HUMAN,

which i think was what he set out for in the first place, he brings all the politicians down from their untouchable god like (TV) states and shows them, completly candid allmost naked which highlights how depressing and screwed up the whole war situation is in the first place.

Get over your statistics, bias and your textbook knowledge and see how stupid and pointless this war and the induced fear really is.

It will give you a dose of reality and humanises this whole f*ck up of an administration and what pain and suffering they are causing to the iraqi people.

And for the people who are arguing like brainless morons against moore and this film before they have even seen it, you are making yourselves look like idiots.

Go see it before you even think of clicking on the f911 forum link. It just shows how brainless and desperate you are commenting on something so passionatly that you have never even seen before, let alone want to absorb and take in without your bias mental block.

it makes a difference to the future dictators that will try and walk all over the constitution and alleged 'american way of life'. it's called negative and positive reinforcement in behavioural modification circles.
'they' received positive reinforcement by actually starting all the wars 'they' wanted to , with their staged 'terror' events. and by watching the dutiful mainstream media print and spew all the half-truths required to get the job well under way.
moore's film is negative reinforcement for all the rich meglomaniacs, and illuminati super occult spy think tanks, that think they have legislated themselves beyond the cognitive reach of 'we the people'.

or, .....it's just another shadow puppet string. time will tell, but few will hear or understand, i'm guessing.
the rest of you can wait for the CNN report. i'm sure they'll leave out nothing, give full context, and be completely unbiased, forthwith, notwithstanding, herewithall, and whatnot.

Thank you Michael Moore for producing a movie that is waking-up the american people that have gone to see it .

Newsday reports, that Alan Wilenski a ardent Republican for Bush-Cheney says the movie has given him something to think about and he bought three more tickets for a later showing of the movie, that was showing in Long Island.

Quote from artical;

A sure-footed Republican and self-described "ardent Bush-Cheney supporter," Alan Wilenski found none of his other right-leaning friends and family willing to go along with his Sunday afternoon plans.

But the Alan Wilenski who stepped out of the Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas yesterday afternoon, after the 12:40 showing of "Fahrenheit 9/11", was a different man.

and Mr. Wilenski made this statement about the movie;

It's really given me pause to think about what's really going on," Wilenski, 50, of Plainview, said. "There was just too much -- too much to discount."

It had also been reported that some movie goers talked of crying from seeing the troops that were hurt, but some others walked out in disgust. One lady even stated that the pandora's box has been opened.

muaddib, You really should "copy & paste" all of what Michael Moore said, not just what you wanted too. You left this part out ----------------------------->
Michael Moore We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance."

Like Mr. Moore said," We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance".

The media can be blamed for that, when they do not tell ALL the TRUTH, but only "PARTS" of the TRUTH, that Resident Bush & Co, tells the media to say.
It's Bush fault and the American people are only guilty of "not searching for the truth, behind everything that comes out of Bush's lying mouth and his administration's lies.
I for one have never beleived anything Bush&Co has said, since they invaded the white house like a nest of cockroaches.

i don't understand how ppl can negate these facts it's like they just look the other way

how can you ignore that it was bush sr. and regan who put bin laden into afghanistan as a cia operative

how can you ignore that the only people allowed to fly out were the bin laden's

how can you ignore the blatent warnings that the bush administration faced

Americans in general have the patriotism about them where they think they own the world (which they kinda do) but there are 6 billion ppl in the world and 250 million are americans even if half the world hates america then that is 3 billion ppl hating america.

and america has given reason for ppl to hate them:
the kid in africa dying of aids because the medicine is too expensive

the grnadmother in vietnam who still can't come to terms with being raped

the countless civilans who have been occupied by the americans only to be left without money and food when the americans withdraw

The ppl that got left without land after a flood raveged their land when the U.S.A could have helped

where was the US then and why do you think michael moore has to make these films

Sure, its ok that he insults you any way he wants to as long as that last line is thrown in.... " We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance"

Sure...as long as he keeps talking and bashes Americans in general and then bashes Bush, then inconspicuously insults Americans again or the victims of 9/11, but then keeps blabbering his mouth everything is alright.....

You want me to excerpt other things he has said? the so called voice of the working class of America....

" Filmmaker Michael Moore's biting satire has Brits biting back in London after he mocked Sept. 11 passengers as "scaredy cats" and then publicly berated theater staff as "conmen," according to press reports. "

Excerpted from.
www.worldnetdaily.com...

He is insulting every American, he insulted the victims of 9/11, he made up what he calls facts, and ignored real facts...and he is awakening America? Pleaaase....

Junior, we're not "ignoring" those facts, we just aren't paying attention to them as "relevant".

Example:

Hitler used the Roman Salute for his "Heil Hitler" Salute.

Does that mean that the Romans are explicitly connected to the Nazis?

No.

Same goes for all of Michael Moore's bush-whacking.

He presents a butt-load of facts, edits them into a movie, and attempts to make you think that there are CONNECTIONS.

There are no connections, and anyone with a brain sees that. Anyone with the ability to determine what is relevant and what is not relevant, can see the tripe in Michael Moore's movie.

Yes he presents mostly facts, he did in the Bowling for Columbine movie too.

My point there wasn't so much that he himself said "K-Mart is guilty!" but that he tried to connect K-Mart along with the fact that America is not "Socialist" and the NRA and all the "gun-culture" of America to Columbine.

Michael Moore takes facts, mostly irrelevant, and lets the ignorance of his viewers make the connections.

And all those connections are just false.

There is no more Connection between Bush and 9/11 through the Bin Laden family, than there is Nazism with the Romans.

Connections has been an important part of this movie, and I have tried to get many of you people to realize that, but none of you seem to be capable of working your brain cells to understand that.

It's not whether or not Moore presents facts, obviously he does, it's "Is Michael Moore accurate in his making connections? Or is he connecting things that are irrelevant"?

The answer is he's connecting things that are irrelevant, but since no one is able to present what connections Michael Moore "insinuates" I can't just up and slap down those connections.

If someone would please state exactly in a nut-shell, how Moore thinks that Bush and Bin Laden are connected and how the attack on Iraq is all some "big sham" of that connection, or whatever he was getting at, that'd make things much easier to discuss.

Freemason, actually, he does no present facts. He mixes some truth with his made up fantasies and then ignores other facts. Like calling the victims on the flights of 9/11 cowards, as in he didn't know that people in flight 93 fought to take down the plane, or to take it back, yet he calls them "scaredy-cats because they were mostly white." To quote him......Shame on Moore, Shame on Moore

Oh BTW, Ray Bradbury is demanding an apology from Moore for taking the title of his book. "Fahrenheit 451" without permission.

" "Fahrenheit 451" takes its title from the temperature at which books burn. Moore has called "Fahrenheit 9/11" the "temperature at which freedom burns." "

Excerpted from.
www.cnn.com...

Oh, btw junior_smith..... you seem to obviously leave out some facts from your list, and also to ignore that there are European countries that have done worse than the US. Search "France and Genocide in Rwanda", or "France and Germany Abet genocide in Sudan"....

Well true Muaddib but it is a mix, he does present facts. Like Bush did take a vacation, a lot of vacations actually. He doesn't however present the facts that Bush is working while on his "vacation" it is only a vacation in the sense that he's not at the White House but at his Ranch.

He presents the facts that there are Bin Laden business deals in America, and with the Bushs' even, but he doesn't present the facts that these Bin Ladens have and will have nothing to do with Osama.

The main problem is the connections, Moore wants you to believe their are connections but there aren't.
