Correct. The Origins of Halloween are based in occultism and have to do with scaring off demons and evil spirits... But let's be honest, that is not what Halloween is anymore. It is just a chance of kids to dress up and get candy. There is no attempt to scare off demons or anything like that anymore.

Just relax, go get some candy to hand out, carve a pumpkin, maybe go to some of the haunted house attractions that open up this time of year and watch some scary movies. Halloween is just a novelty anymore, but it is an awesome novelty.

All religious ceremonies are based on occultism, some are just more popular then others

And the nice thing is.....if those children eat even one piece of Halloween candy, their souls are damned to Hell forever. Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So its too late for most of you!

Kidding.

Dont you religious maniac have something better to do than bash on the Celtic New Year? Like maybe finding out when Jesus' birthday actually was so you can stop borrowing the pagan winter holy days?

Do you even know what Samhain is? The millennia old pagan Irish celebration of Years end and the changing of the year from the light half (Summer) to the dark half (Winter)..

Those religions were practiced thousands of years before the hands of the Roman Empire took control of the politics behind organizing religion and forcing it on the entirety of Europe..

Absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with "the Dark Lord"..

Try researching it..

"Samhain..lord of death and evil spirits" from Satanic Ritual Murders or Natural Causes
by Robert Howard

"Druid priests led the people in diabolical worship ceremonies in which horses, cats, black sheep,
oxen, human beings and other sacrifices were rounded up, stuffed into wicker cages,
and burned to death." Janet and Stewart Farrar, Eight Sabbats for Witches,
1981, p. 122
Lewis Spence, The History and origins of Druidism,
1976, p. 104

Did you know the bible practices many pagan rituals, Ahem the solstice AKA Christmas.. Easter as fertility...

Actually, if you are referring to The Holy Bible of the Christian faith, neither "Christmas" nor "Easter"
are referenced to in the manner in which you state.

By definition: the use of the word pagan does not incorporate the word "Jesus Christ".

In the Bible: The Birth of Christ is recorded
and The Resurrection of Christ is recorded.

Why don't you just chill out a little?

Halloween is a Celtic Pagan tradition and it harms no one it was supposed to celebrate the end of the harvest, which is completely innocent. It was the Christians who turned it into a side-show about consumerism and outfits, so look no further than your own church congregation and thank the people in your religion for the things you claim are being pushed by others.

Oh and here's something that will scare the cross of ya, I'm a Pagan! Ahhhh!!!!!

Freedom, it does not matter if a certain ritual is mentioned or not in your holy book. The fact, however, that the people of your religious faith currently practice this ritual, after stealing it from "simple minded" peasant folk who were just looking for a day of bright lights and gift giving after toiling in the fields for 8 months, is quite important. The Christian faith, as it moved over England and other Germanic countries, blended with local beliefs to create this day. ( 1. ) Neither side, the "pagan side" or the "Christian side" can claim full dominion over it.

Over time, all beliefs start to blend as humans move in different directions. Let it go - its a day for kids of all colors and creeds ( and some big kids too! ) to enjoy candy, enjoy friends, and have fun for once in the year. And really, that is all that matters now.

Freedom - for a balanced and fair judgement, may you give us some links that are not incredibly one sided in either direction? If you seriously believe that "evil spirits" rise up from graves because a website with other headings like "Deception" tells you so, you may want to check your logic.

As with the history of Halloween, there are many different ways the act of trick or treating came about. One is from the 19th century custom called souling. This means Christians would walk from town to town on Halloween night, begging for soul cakes.

If you want to google: Halloween, origins of
Halloween and satanism
The Facts of Halloween
The truth about Halloween
satanism
satanism and sacrifice
satanic calendar
or any other derivative thereof that you may think of: there are at least 35 pages of google entries on each
topic.
Usually, you can tell if an entry is from a person or an entity (organization).
serious research generally discounts wikipedia because of the way it allows entries to be made.

Granted, jeremiahproject is christian based. That is why I also included entries from National Geographic,
authors of research books, and testimony from ex-cult members.

"They served their idols,
which became a snare to them.
They even sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons,

and shed innocent blood. The blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrficed to the idols of Canaan:."
Psalm 107: 36-38

worshipped was Baal" Hislop, Alexander The Two Babylons, p.232

Ok what does any of this have to do with a modern Halloween?

None whatsoever.

You know what my nieces and nephews see in Halloween? They see a chance to dress up as a superhero or princess or some other such thing, and go out and get some candy. The laugh and play and have a goodtime. So yeah looks like a whole lot of children laughing and playing is unfruitful works of darkness to me. The only darkness in it is that which you take with you. The ancient beliefs and meanings behind it have long since passed and now it has its own place in modern society.

P.S. earlier you had an attack of Falwellism, God couldn't punish New Orleans with a hurricane, because after the great flood didnt he promise never to kill man with flood waters as a punishment again? Guess instead of spitting out meaningless verses taken completely out of context, maybe you should focus on God and his promises 101.

No my dear, I was not asking for a definition. I was asking you, the poster, to share with the rest of the class websites or scans of books that you have gotten this information out of so that we may see that is a true, fair, unbiased source that does not reek of religious politics. From the sound of your posts, and the phrases you are using, you are either a monk sitting in the Middle Ages who has a computer, or someone who is clinging onto ghosts and shadows in a modern age with enough sickness, poverty, and depression to keep us busy for our lifetime, never mind with any extra spooks and whatnot.

Let kids enjoy one extra day to be a kid, and that is all.

Actually, He promised never to flood the Entire earth again, sealed it with the rainbow.

"..the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.."Gen. 9:11-17
