I rank them A, E, C, D and B
A is first, because he is taking the most logical step. Although he refused to help, he did so, only because the result could preserve everyone's
lives.
E is second, because he showed compassion towards the woman's circumstances, took her in, and gave her food. This is essentially preserving the
woman's life. E would have been first, but unlike A, E is only helping to preserve the life of one individual, and not four.
C is third, because although she is not helping to preserve life, she displays selflessness. She loves D and is willing to do anything to be with him,
even if she has to do something she really doesn't want to do.
D is fourth, because he is not helping to preserve any lives at all, and is only concerned with his own predicament. If he had taken the time to
understand C's choices, he could then have displayed compassion and taken E's role of preserving life by looking after C.
And finally we have B. B is last, because he takes no steps to help preserve the lives of any individual. He displays no lack of compassion and is
only concerned with taking advantage of the situation to benefit himself.
I chose my answers based on the little variables we had to work with. The main thing above all else, is the preservation of life. That is how I came
to my conclusion. My answers would definitely change, if there was more information on each individuals ulterior motives.
