I agree we need to stay on top of this & contact our reps. Mine recognize the phone number & my voice. Letters are physical & copies can be kept as proof a statement has been made. A registered letter will also produce a name of the person who signs for it. A phone call can be ignored. Still, I try. I'm also not above mentioning there is an election coming up. For some reason I'm not getting the (phone) town meetings that I used to get regularly. Can't imagine why.
When I do get it my question never seems to get answered. There "are so many questions to be addressed there isn't time to answer them all". Yeah, I believe that.

There isn't much that annoys me as much as being ignored by an employee. It also doesn't bother me to remind the reps they are, in fact, employees.

After 12 hours of no transponders. www.marinetraffic.com now has ships in the Macondo area. Maybe all the internet chatter made them respond.

We certainly DO have the right....BP is ignoring an ORDER that says they MUST provide live feeds to the public! That's why I am writing government officials about it. We need to raise some hell.....these scoundrels think they can do whatever they want! They are actually breaking the law by defying a direct order from the President!

Damn straight they WORK FOR US! Or at least they are supposed to I have just been flooding them with emails....I figure sooner or later they will get sick of having thier mail spammed and maybe actually read it. I have sent snail mail letters too. The phone is pretty much useless in my opinion.....I get put on hold or brushed off....

It does seem that way sometimes, doesn't it? If everyone is really discussing something and complaining, it seems like there is direct response to it LOL.....probably coincidence, but it seems that way sometimes!

What was the specific ruling on that? I know the gov. ordered them to make the feeds public (even though we know they never showed us ALL the ROV's), but for how long? What was the specific end point where they are no longer legally required to maintain the feeds?

Wow... Yeah.... i'm searching for it too. cant find it now. I know its out there. The info should be in this thread somewhere, as i recall posting it somewhere.

OK....I would like to see it! If it does have a specific date or specifies that they keep it on until the job is completely finished....I'll copy it and send it to our congressman and senators and tell them we want this enforced..

I do not recall a mention of a time frame for when, how long, etc. BP is required to make the feeds available. But our reps should know. Let me just say this...if an answer is not found by Monday AM I intend to call my reps to ask them the question. Speaking for myself, I'm tired of the double speak, vague, sometimes not ever related comments BP, and all, have mastered. They should be required to issue a dictionary.

I don't post much because I work alot. But I have been following this thead since the beginning. I would like to say, Many Kudo's to Steathykat. You have really been on this. And to all the rest of you that have given us your time and knowledge. Steathykat, if you could provide me with the email addresses that you have been sending your concerns to, I would be glad to join you in sending them as many emails as I can to get these gov. people to get it that we are watching and we do care and we are not going away.

I live north now, but I was raised is the south. I have family in N.O. and in Magnolia, Ms. We are very concerned about whats going on down there.

Devolopment Driller II ROV 1 was viewing a leak on the well casing half an hour ago
They moved the ROV to something else now.
The casing leak is originating under the seafloor
and has been going since Sunday.
And they said the Relief well was finished
If so why is the leak still there?

Hi everyone....I will answer the questions about where to send emails after this post....but I wanted to show you what is going on down there. For a long time now, I have been talking about the "explosions" or Eruptions" I see on a regular basis....they are usually very violent and you can see big red glowing chunks of something being thrown violently up, then it falls down....as if it were being ejected from the sea floor. I still believe there is a volcano waking up down there. There are may, but most are dormant....I think one is waking up...the pics do it no justice though....the whole right side of the screen was very bright red like a red cloud and it was pulsating (as if it was spewing in bursts) and throwing out these red chunks....

Well....I had a couple of great pics clearly showing the large red chunks, but it will not let me upload because it is Bitmap, not jpg! I am so sorry! I'll try it again next time I see it...

You can change that BMP to a JPG with Paint or PSP. If you need help let me know.

Here is a list of gov people to email, snail mail, or call....we need to find out WHY the feeds are shutting down.....what do they intend to do with the 2 inch thick layer of oil just found on the sea floor of the gulf?....why is new oil washing up in Louisiana if the well is dead, is it a second well leaking BP is hiding?......why are there constant explosions going on and what about the cracks all over the sea floor?.....BP is STILL spraying Corexit, WHY? We deserve answers to these questions. If we don't speak up, they will sweep it under the rug, and BP will get away with this and go back to business as usual!
