I've not seen one word about the old BOP since the feds took custody. They are saying it was taken to NASA because it has facilities big enough to hold the BOP. There are lots of places as big that could be used, but OK. I suppose we might not hear anything if there is nothing to report yet. Or maybe they are just hoping we will all move on to another point of interest. Eventually there will be a little news blurp, as we used to say, on page 13A of the local newspaper.

Surly they cant have taken it to the vehicle assembly building at KSC, Discovery just got rolled from there this morning
I've actually seen them roll space shuttles from just 20 feet away on a tourist bus
theres no way a 500 ton BOP can go unnoticed through there.
unless they shipped it and keep it hidden on launchpad then load it in discoverys cargo bay.

I just remembered something
They make external feul tanks at a NASA facility called Michoud at NOLA and the old BOP is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meanwhile a leak below the new BOP is still occuring i saw it in DDII ROV 1 or 2 this morning
The leak might be originating from below the relief well intersect point.

Is this the DH BOPs top half before being used for Macondo or is it a different one?

im pretty sure its the one they now have in the nasa facility?

this was taken before they lowered it?

Are you sure? That one in the pic looks like it's brand new. It may be similar to the one that they pulled from DH but I don't think that one in the picture is the one from the DH. Looks to new the other one was all rusty and beat up. You could tell that from the feeds.

The media should be asking A LOT more questions than they are.

I'm not sure what you are telling us here? The damaged BOP was brought up, taken into custody by the FBI waiting on the ship, & taken to NASA according to the published, & known, report. I questioned the reason for using NASA immediately. It's all a few pages back in this thread. The reason given is NASA has the space to store & investigate the damage & does have a facility in Louisiana.

I'm not at all convinced that is the only reason for using NASA, but have no way to investigate the possibility other reasons. I do know this. The BOP is out of sight. No pesky reporters or concerned citizens looking over a shoulder. Only people bound by confidentially clauses in their contracts have access.

At the risk of sounding paranoid, at this point, I don't trust any of them.

This well Is leaking OIL....go check out Development Driller 1 on BP's site .....I see 3 places with what looks like oil coming out...they are "jetting hydrates".....but hydrates aren't BLACK

I circled the part where I saw actual FLOW of something black, I watched it to make sure that it wasn't a shadow and it was definitly flowing in an upward motion......the one one the right was a small stream which a couple of times divided into 2 small streams...the one on the right was coming out steady with little "puffs " in between.

You'll notice the caption on that ROV is "Jetting Hydrates". If they have hydrate buildup then it must still be leaking and you're right that does look like oil sitting near the base of the BOP and she is definitely leaning when you see a zoomed out shot.

To me it seems obvious that there is a breach somewhere along the drill casing and they aren't going to be able to shut it down with the relief well. I would assume the hydrate buildup is because of Natural Gas leaking up along the drill pipe.

Some more active feeds would be nice, but we know that the ones we have now are on borrowed time. All I have active right now is the DD2 Rov1. The rest are blank.

Same here.... 1 feed......and you're right....they have been "jetting hydrates" for days now, actually since the relief well was deemed a "success" and the well "is not capable of leaking a drop of oil into the gulf (that's exactly what they said in the press release!) That looks the same as the leaks we saw in the old BOP....I didn't get to see the BOP in a distant shot...but I did see that gauge and it was waaaay off center...do you have a pic of the whole thing leaning? I can't wait to hear thier exuses for this F up! That has to be oil, what else could it be?

Oh and something else I noticed in that feed.....the part I circled on the right...look just above where the "oil puff" is, and you can see a blurry vapor like effect....as when gas is leaking....you know, the heat on asphalt kind of effect....so SOMETHING is coming out of there....and not just hydrates. You have to watch it live to see it, but it is definitly moving because you can see the waves in it.

Unless there is another catastrophic event such as a huge rig burning & people dying, they, BP, aren't going to explain anything. The only reason they came forward when they did was because the couldn't deny it. They, BP, sure tried but it was too far reaching. With all the ships and feeds out of the area they aren't going to offer anything.

The fix is in folks. We are on our own.

You know how I have been talking about the EXPLOSIONS I have seen? I FINALLY found a good video of what I have been seeing.This was taken four days ago. In it, you see the sea floor actually move (like tectonic plates sliding) and then all hell breaks loose...oil balls everywhere and dead fish that the explosion blew up...Be sure to watch the whole thing... www.youtube.com...

Olympic challenger....major explosion going on 5:20 central time....they moved some HUGE peice of equipment that the explosion broke or untethered which was flying around all over the place (it looked as big as a house, don't know what it was),,,,the ROV grabbed it and pulled it back down to the floor and all the sudden huge explosions started happening.

Just went back and the rov has gotten the hell out of there....don't know what happened to that big piece of equipment...anyone else see all this?

I don't know where to begin. I'm sitting here stunned. What the hell am I looking at?

A little shifting I could understand, but this is clearly an eruption. The seabed actually lifts up. You've found the source of the explosive sounds you've been hearing. My first instinct is to suggest you gather your family, your friends, & get the hell out of there. Realistically, I'm not sure safety exist any where for anyone.

Early on we saw what appeared to be fuel exploding resulting in fire under water. That doesn't explain this. I don't think tectonic plate movement explains this.

Anyone have any idea what the lights in the back ground are? One has 4 light, one has 3 & one has two. Reflections? They look very uniform. Four days ago...other ROVs? After the sea bed rises they become obscured. And what is that thing that looks like a tether? It appears around 9:27 in.

OK We need a real scientist now. Some one who can make sense of this, since clearly I can not.

Now you see why I have been so adamant about this.....and why I kept saying I think there is volcanic activity. I have seen these explosions may times because I watch the cams so much....it was happening so often and one of them was so violent, I had to stop watching for a while. No one really seemed to understand what I was trying to describe....I have seen this happen and seen rocks fly at amazing speed upwards, and as they fell they were smoking (leaving a trail) I have also seen what I believe is lava,....on one video, the rov was traveling close to the floor doing a "biological survey", and something blew up right next to it, and it looked exactly like fire....it spewed red chunks all over and then the rov was engulfed in white smoke. Right before that happening the floor looked like it was seeping grey smoke in various places , but small amounts. I am just so glad I found that video because it says what my words cannot! It's very scary when you see it!
