Having at least a little knowledge about physics helps.

That paper is not talking about oxygen being absorbed. It is talking about the way oxygen absorbs microwave radiation. (BTW, did you notice the date of the report?)

It is talking about how oxygen and other gases in the atmosphere might affect radar, not vice versa.

Right, but what happens to the Oxygen molecule when it has absorbed Electromagnetic Radiation?

It does not remain unchanged. Since you know so much... I'll go ahead and let you explain before I dig in any deeper.

What happens is that an electron is temporarily raised to a higher energy state then returns to its original state, radiating the energy it had gained.

Thanks for your reply. You say "temporarily" and I'm implying a scenario (the hundreds of thousands of "cell phone" towers out there) microwaving the air 24x7, what happens if the radiation is never turned off??

There are a lot of oxygen atoms out there.

But it's not really a problem. O2 absorption peaks at about 61GHz. Cell phones go up to about 2GHz. Oxygen is transparent to cell phone radiation.

What do you mean, nothing much?

First I mean no harm but I have to ask... Do you work for a wireless company or the CIA/NSA?? Because it is the microwave radiation that is being absorbed 24x7 all of the time that makes this an issue. It never stops being absorbed.

PS I "hear" the radiation flying by my head all of the time (frey effect). That is where the dumb "cell phone" companies screwed up. Ever since I started hearing it--I knew I had to dig further and find out what it was.

It's none of your damned business what I do for living.

What part of "transparent" do you not understand? Oxygen does not absorb radiation of the wavelengths used by cell phone towers.

However, pressure from the pineal gland can be felt through the center of the forehead down through the eyes due to the chemicals that are released and the function that it serves.

So, I outright admit Phage is correct on the technical location of the pineal gland.

Ok....cell phones use cell towers so I will make the assumption that the towers broadcast in the range: 850mhz = .850 GHZ, 1900mhz = 1.900 GHZ.

According to this page there's an attenuation graph that occurs all the way down to 1 ghz, if I'm not mistaken that is the frequency of some cell towers = 1.900 GHZ (1900mhz)

1.9GHZ = ~ .01 db of atmospheric O2.
That's not much but it is there. Sure the range is huge, but I can't say for sure I'm not a atmospheric physicist, but it isn't "nothing".

PS I also live within ~ 2 miles of 3 cell towers and I feel some kind of unnatural heat, even at night. The earth is also drying out more quickly here in Ind/Michigan than it used to do.

You're right. I wasn't accurate. Not nothing. Not completely transparent. A loss of .008dB for each kilometer.

3G towers put out only about 3 watts. The amount absorbed from that is pretty tiny. I wouldn't worry about it heating up the atmosphere very much. A sunny day does a heck of a lot more.
