MMMM...no he is the hypocrite since he repeatedly said that drug users and junkies should be locked up and thrown away the key.

All while he was strung out on oxycotin and getting it illegally.

This is the type of person he is refuses to see the connection between his own behavior and the people he damned.

ANON...I just saw the clip, on the TV machine.

He said, and I quote: "I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here....but, ever sly (?) and conniving, he 'qualified' it, dinnit he????
Asked by a caller on Tuesday what he would do if health care passes, Limbaugh gave this response:
"I don't know. I'll just tell you this, if this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implement, I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica."
blog.seattlepi.com...
"FIVE"!!!!! "YEARS"!!!!!
Oh, his contract...riiiiiiight.......
Hypocrite!!!
I just heard him say it was BS and he didn’t say it. But hey, what does the truth matter to a liberal media. They are just looking for talking points to keep their viewers busy. People like you. Healthcare needs to be overhauled in the U.S. to make it a fair system but taking on a socialized system is the wrong way to do it. My opinion.
is rush part of the liberal media? because I just seen the unedited cut where indeed he says he will move to Costa Rica...yerp, ciao Rushy
It was also decided that Somolia was one of the few areas on earth that has his idealistic health care system...the rest has lots of evil socialistic aspects...costa rica having a full blown public option.
Yea, Rush was addicted to PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDS. Prescription being the key word there. I'm not saying he was right in what he did. I'm saying that people bashing him for his drug use are nothing more than common hypocrites, everyone makes mistakes.
But how many of you are willing to voluntarily announce your drug abuse on ACROSS THE NATION TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE LIVE?! I guess not one of you.
And unfortunately, you're all wrong anyways. What Rush said was that he would go to Costa Rica for medical care if Universal health care was passed. Get your facts right. Read his transcript instead of some smear journalist.
You really don't get it to you?
He told his listeners only because the story was already breaking...not because he felt some moral obligation to.
Still while he was strung out he made no distinction about people like him...addicted to prescription drugs...and other drug users...
he damned them all.
A little trivia about the higher tax bracket from OECD-
As earners move into higher tax brackets, their tax relief actually rises in value.
Rich Americans with mouthpieces (for example, actors and pop stars) really get into this "I am leaving if I don't get my way" business. I think both Robert Redford and Barbara Streisand threatened to leave the US if Bush was elected. Well, it happened, and as far as I know they never left. C'mon spoiled celebs. Stop with the pretend tantrums. You have a lot less to lose than most people. I will become interested in these type of threats if people with real jobs, a modest house or apartment, and a "barely making it" pay check make these threats and actually follow through. Now that would be newsworthy. Rush's threat is not.
What's Rush going to do if he goes to Costa Rica and, say, has a heart attack?
He wouldn't be a Costa Rican citizen (at least not for awhile) and would not be eligible for their subsidized health care.
He'd most likely have to pay out of pocket for care that is probably not as good as what he could get in the U.S.
Chances are he would need to be flown back to the States anyway.
If, on the other hand, he stayed in the U.S. he would be covered by his own preferred health insurance policy (whichever policy he likes) and enjoy very good American care, which he himself has said is the best in the world.
So, good-bye and good luck, Rush. And hope you don't get sick.
My dear lord both you and these "young turks" are morons. Probably you more so than they.
The question was "Where would you go for health care?"
The answer was "I would leave the country. I would go to costa rica."
Now, if i say i'm going to leave the country, does that mean i'm never coming back? Does it mean i'm renouncing the my country and gaining citizenship in another country?...........NO!!!!! It means i'm going out of the country for a while!!!!
He would go to costa rica FOR HEALTH CARE!!!!!
Look, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot" (title from book by Al Franken)
He is a hypocrite!!!! And a fear-monger.
He is a liar. In his response to the caller, in that very UTube clip, he lies about what the proposal for better US healthcare will entail.
He is a liar, and a reactionary, and is in the pockets, the deep, deep pockets of many special interests who oppose the drying up of the gravy train they are currently riding. Insurance companies....record profits, every quarter. They are corrupt.
He is a hypocrite for never, not once, acknowledging the care he received when he had his heart event in Hawai'i recently.
He is a liar.
But, he's not stupid. So, as part of being a liar, he is also an actor. Actors are, in a way, liars too. BUT, professional actors know how to separate their work, from their personal lives. Rush might not. Or, he can't, because he's under contract until 2016, and he must perform like a trained monkey, to fulfill that contract.
And his bank account ain't hurtin' along the way......
Thanks but it’s clearly a waste of time to point out the obvious to the people here who are politically motivated. They joined ATS to spin and propagate politically driven agendas through irrelevant rhetoric. This thread was created to bash Limbaugh. Nothing more nothing less. I wonder what it will take for the sheep to wake up and realize they are just slaves to their respective parties.
somehow i believe him. i think someone like rush might actually have principle enough to follow through and move his operations elsewhere, at least part of the year. sadly though probably just another empty threat from a celebrity.
Rush reminds me a lot of Bender when he became human...Wonder if he's got any fried cheese sandwiches hiding under those skin folds
no doubt he's got a couple of boxes of oxys hiding under there
By the looks of him, he could do with some socialised healthcare
To those of you who believe this is just another "hate" thread, let me shed some light on this, if you will.
From my perspective, it's really not about hating "Rush". It's about hating hatred. Maybe that's not what you hear when he opens his mouth, but it is indeed what I and many others hear.
There are posters on ATS, when giving only an opinion like everyone else, begin sentences with: "The truth is....", when in fact it may or may not be the truth.
Or "The facts are....." while they may or may not be the facts.
I don't like reading comments from those posters, as the arrogant self-righteous completely full-of-themselves-know-what's-best-for-everybody attitude puts me off.
This is how I see Mr. Limbaugh. When you combine this arrogant, narrow view of the world with a given gift of showmanship, you have a walking propaganda machine.
How can this possibly be a good thing? He knows best, and has occasionally offered solutions and his thoughts on how things could be corrected and improved, but there is nobody there to counter his suggestions with a simple "this will never work, there will never be enough money in the treasury to support this plan"......so he goes on and on with unsubstantiated and often wreckless opinions, misleading people, and guiding them to unrealistic conclusions.
So, I don't hate Rush Limbaugh. I simply object and protest his often narrow and unsubstantiated views which is presents as "the truth, and the facts". There are two sides to every argument, and when you have a free reign to present only one, things can get very blurry, and often do, with this commentator.
Now --- that's the truth --- as I see it.
