Limbaugh: I'll Leave US If Health Care Reform Passes

www.huffingtonpost.com

If Democrats didn't have all the incentive they needed to pass health care reform already, then conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh may have provided the final push they needed by vowing to flee the country if the reform bill is passed.

Responding to a caller who asked him where he would go for health care if Congress enacts reform, Limbaugh replied,

I don't know. I'll just tell you this, if this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented -- I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica.

Oh please Oh please pass this bill...please...please...please!!!

Actually he would probably flee to Hawaii since they have an excellent universal health care system that he was a recent recipient of.

The big fat blow hard is always threatening this but he never does. Time for him to put his money where his extra large mouth is.

Okay Dems you got your motivation now. Go for it.

Then one can only hope as an outsider/foreigner that US will pass that bill, so that the media would become a bit more clean in its tone, and not so condeming and rightwinged BS Mr.Limbaugh spouts out...

Best Regards

Loke.

I got news for rush....start packing...this bill will get passed with or without support of conservatives..

I bet Rush flip-flops on his promise...which is a shame, as all of his hot air is a major contributor to climate change

Dunno what Rush' problem with universal health care is...

He'll be able to get oxy's WAY cheaper under UHC than he would under the current arrangement

I bet many of you Americans would be glad to see him go? The bloke is a Nobend. At least i am safe in the knowledge he won't be coming to the U.K, we are far to Socialist for his liking, i.e. helping people who cannot help themselves.

Hasn't anyone noticed the correlation?

Talk about man made global warming.

We are in no danger. Rush will not leave, this will never pass.

Empty promises like his entire persona, empty.

Holy Sweet Baby Jesus. Is he for real?
That has to be the most interesting thing I've ever heard Rush say in his entire life.

Please please please please pass the bill. Where is the number for my congressman.

Even if the bill sucks. I'd want a Yes vote if it means I never have to hear about that fat bastard ever again.

Ah, heck....with our bad luck, even IF he goes to Costa Rica (will they let him in? Guess he has enough money, he can buy his way) ... even IF he goes, he'll probably figure a way to stay syndicated from there!!

Kinda like "Pirate Radio"......Arrrrgggghhh!!!

(..reminds me of a slightly off-colour joke...I'll keep it to me'self! Arrgghh!!)

Ah, but I have a family-friendly one:

"What's the difference between Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenburg?

One is a flaming bag of hot gas --- and the other is a dirigible."

I think we need to pay attention to this. I may not like Limbaugh, or agree with what he states, however, if he states such and then is followed by people who are in the upper tax bracket, what will that do to the economy. I would not support this bill in any part that is written as it is a bad bill, a very bad bill.

I just heard him say it was BS and he didn’t say it. But hey, what does the truth matter to a liberal media. They are just looking for talking points to keep their viewers busy. People like you. Healthcare needs to be overhauled in the U.S. to make it a fair system but taking on a socialized system is the wrong way to do it. My opinion.

Who cares if Rush leaves the country or not? Now if he's going to quit broadcasting that's a whole 'nother matter!

He will of course lie though...

Oh, little sidenote...

Rush is not going to like Costa Rica:

Public Health Care - Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS)
Costa Rica’s public health insurance
system, commonly known as the Caja, is available country-wide to all citizens and legal residents. There are ten major public hospitals – four in San Jose, including the Children’s Hospital – affiliated with the Caja. For non-emergencies and everyday medical care, small clinics, known as EBAIS (pronounced ay-vy-ice), are located in almost every community.

The cost to affiliate with CCSS is approximately 10 to 11.5% of your income; alternatively, residents may become members via ARCR, which provides a streamlined and simple joining process. Please note that for those under age 55, Caja payments include a mandatory pension payment, which will be disbursed beginning at age 65. Keep in mind that the Caja’s low cost and high quality attract many to its hospitals and clinics, and wait times are long for anything from a routine checkup to an important surgical procedure.

surely not the fact that costa rica has such a high prostitution rate and lax drug laws...

I agree with other posters. Good riddance to bad rubbish. It would be worth passing health care to get rid of him. Could we toss in the 700 club for change?

As has already been stated, he said publicly today that he didn’t say it. Maybe you could change the title of this thread to “I hate Rush Limbaugh”. It better represents the ideas expressed in the thread.
