They are reporting the river in Hawaii is rising and it is very mucky. It's calm on the top, but not underneath.

Funny that bouy report came from the opposite side of the island and registered what - a 20 meter rise.

It will hit Hilo first, then take another 30 minutes to get to the farthest island in the chain.

We have an ETA for our east coast

Should be here in between 900am and 930am...which is about an hour away

Its not the initial wave that could do the damage.. the waves following are the most dangerous. Rivers in Hawaii will rise and flood the region. This could happen still hours from now.

Fox news just showed footage of Long beach California and water receding to the point of not allowing boats to dock in areas...

The fact that this is happening at low tide is bad timing.

Seems like something is happening, evidence of surges, but the NOAA did say that the first wave would not necessarily be the biggest of the end of it. it keep coming until it hits peak!

Reports from Hilo say the water has now dropped. It came in and not it's heading back out. The water is forced into the river because it is small. They are monitoring the rise and fall in Hilo Bay.

Generally tsunamis come in waves of 3.....the third usually being the biggest wave of the set

I live in San Pedro and my apartment overlooks the port. It seems like the boats are lower.

For those that don't know. San Pedro is right next to Long Beach in California.
