The reports from some islands say that the tsunami hasn't caused much damage and that they aren't that big.

Could a conclusion be drawn from this that Hawaii won't experience a strong tsunami but rather a weak one like the ones these Islands (french polynesia I think) have experienced?

Or just an earthquake? You know, these have been happening for 10s of millions of years. And they were not HAARP based for like.. most of that time, go figure.

I don't what it is, that makes people almost WANT the world have a horrible disaster. It's an earthquake, that's it. And associated wave action.

Pictures on CNN show the water quite far out.

I think one of the other posters here said it was low tide, but could this not be a foretelling of what is coming.

Boats have gone out to sea.

Please...it would be helpful if you post the 'entire news article' or at least a link to it.
Your short post implies disaster, however read below:

A tsunami of up to four metres struck the island paradise of French Polynesia but there were no casualties or major damage reported, after traffic in areas close to the sea was suspended.

Waves rammed into the Gambier archipelago and the Marquesas Islands, where a two-metre wall of water damaged some boats, officials said. Some flights were diverted and several thousand people in Tahiti were moved to higher ground.

Foxnews (TV) just reported that you can see the water receeding on the shoreline of Hawaii. A significant sign that a tsunami is coming!
