(History repeates - Communication will be no different)

DC based HF communication (FM/AM/CW/SSB) is the future comms method when ATS is long forgotten (sadly)

Radio hams are intrinsic in Electronics, Marconic Defense, Bang & Olevesen, Phillips, JVC, BAE System, BT, Department of Defence, etc.

Most Electronics are developed by Radio Hams,

Predator spy planes, infact GPS, OOK Modulation (on-off-keying) PCN/GSM Modulation Methods, TETRA, TV, endless list.

Radio Hams are beyond "cutting-edge" technology, keep themselves to themselves, and above all,

Several alarming posts about the "sunspot" maximum in 2012 and how much smarter ham radio operators are than the rest of us.

Intelligent and source backed rebuttal from Phage.

You have yet to produce more than your first and only source, a UK HAM radio website that has not been updated since 2008, to support your theory.

Beyond that, all you seem to keep doing is posting about HAM radio users in a thread about a possible sunspot maximum. Yes, I am aware that solar activity effects our grid and the importance of its frequencies for radio HAMs, but considering the sun would continue doing it's own thing, whether or not HAM radio even existed, it is not on the topic of the thread.

Anyway I am done replying here until some sort of source material relevant to the claim is presented. Beyond that it seems you have already closed your eyes and let ignorance block out any information and researching contradicting your own thoughts.

Perhaps your teenaged little buddies on 4chan believe your faith in the solar maximum in that time frame being the worst for sunspots in 400 years, but most of us here who use reason and don't fall for all of the end of the world 2012 religions can see the indications that point to the solar maximum not being that much of a big deal.
But I'm patient. In just over 3 years when we are all still around and things haven't really changed and we're into the year 2013, we'll probably be arguing about some new re-interpretation of the Mayan long count that puts the end of the world at - oh, I don't know...let's go with 2/16/15. The world will end on my 50th birthday. Woo!
