I diagree stongly with the tazserng ad the probable neolithic-age motives of the rent-a-thugs' general motivations...even now, after all...this is a country of rule by law. (Or damn well should be.). This goes just as much for the protesters in drag as it does for the Bernie Maddoff's in this world.

Our country as has a law against indecent exposture. It also has a law against ponzi- schemes. Both should be respected, and sternly enforced.

But cha kno what....this guy is a ninncompoop. Straight up.

The last protest that really worked and reallly elucideated respect was wayaaaaaay back in the civil rights era. The protestors showed up in coat and tie, with crisp haircuts, fedoras, and briarwood pipes. They were respectful of the concept of *limits.* They spoke softly and calmly to the cops (for the most part). Before marching, they filled out the necessary paperwork at city hall to schedule their official demonstation, which they got because they crossed theitr "Ts" an dotted their i's". Thye were ordrly, respectful to authority verbally (although willing to hold their ground) and guess what...even the police felt guilty about beating them up and they got nothing but rave reviews from the TV and the general public.
The result of all this is that they actually achieved their goals.

Fast foraed 40 yeas....I have find it hard to believe naked wizards, 14-food paper-mache-puppets and durnk uncle sam's on stilts, howling dreadlocked trustufundanfariands, and other "street theatre" types achieving not much of anything alt ajl, ececpt maybe a mediablip of 1.3 secomd in the "offbeat news" section.

Color me miffed.

The guy did deserve to either get beaten, clubbed, or tazed until he let them arrest him. Anyone with a bit of sense knows that its futile to resist arrest. Its not like they are going to give up just because you made it more difficult. Just lay dow, put your hands behind your back, and let them cuff you. If they arrested you wrongly you take it up in court with the best lawyer you can afford. That is how it has always worked. That is how it should work. Do you have a better idea?

Plus he probably would have not even been arrested if he would have put his clothes back on the first 10 or so times they asked him. Its there job to enforce the law, whether they agree with that law or not. They were doing what they are paid to do.

If you think everyone should be able to run around naked in a public place then I suggest you work to change the laws. Until the law changes if you are naked in public and cop tells you to put your clothes on then put them on and dont resist arrest and you wont get tazed.

Maybe someone should come to your job and throw a bottle at you every time you make a decision they dont like.

I may have agreed that tasering this man wasn't beyond what the police should have done until I saw one of the cops put his knee into the naked man's ribs - hard. THAT was unnecessary and then putting the taser directly to his skin over his heart area and at the base of his neck was uncalled for and highly dangerous. THATS the point at which the cops took it too far.

This whole thing reminds me of Rodney King. I saw him on Celebrity Rehab, and he seems like a great guy. I would love to hang out with him. But when he got his ... beat by the police he deserved it. He's huge, he had a history of violence and he resisted arrest. I didnt like seeing him getting smacked any more than anyone else, but those police were just doing their job.

I even got smacked around by the police when I was in college. I was drunk. I resisted arrest and I got what I deserved. The way I see it they had to arrest me because I was breaking the law. They could have done it the easy way or the hard way, and I made it so they had to do it the hard way. All of my friends who were also arrested at the same time by the same police followed their directions and none of them had any problem what so ever. So its pretty clear that I was the problem as soon as I started to resist.

If you watch the video, that taser must have an adjustable amount of voltage because he wasnt shocked that hard. I am not sure but my guess is it was turned down, if that is possible. He didnt even seem hurt because he goes right back to resisting as soon as they take it off of him. Have you ever seen it when someone usually get tazed. It takes them a while to recover. So either it was adjustable or he was high on something. But that is just my opinion.

I cannot believe how many of you agree with a defenseless naked man being painfully shocked with electricity simply so the police didnt have to deal with it in a more hands on way (and i dont mean beating him with nightsticks).

And you wonder why your country is becoming a fascist state where corporate law rules over truth and justice.

Adjustable voltage or not, placing ANY ELECTRICAL CURRENT AT ALL on the heart area or at the base of the neck where the skull meets the spine is DANGEROUS to the utmost degree and those police were very much in the wrong to do so.

My better idea: arrest the guy, handcuff him, and bring him to the police dept.

No need to torture with a taser..... even in front of hundreds.

Somehow, IMHO, bottle trowing should lead to better decision making

Might work with governments, who knows

If someone makes a real bad decision, maybe one deserves a bottle....Bong

Seriously what would you have done differently if you were one of the cops? He is not complying to the law, so you have to arrest him if for no other reason than you cant appear weak in front of a crowd of drunk/high people, because then some small group of them will start acting crazy just to test you. He resisted arrest so what are you going to do other than man handle him or taze him. Plus he is butt naked so you dont want to get in a wrestling match with him for both his sake and yours.

See but you have to arrest him first. So how are you going to arrest him without getting physical in one way or another if he chooses to resist.

But I totally agree that we should institute a law that allows us to throw bottles at our government leaders everytime they do something stupid.

It still goes back to the fact that if you dont want to get tazed then dont resist arrest. Its such a simple solution to the problem.

No it does not, or should not. The taser is being used more and more in situations where it is not needed and in the past would have been dealt with without the use of the taser.

The man was not being violent in any way, shape or form and the only reason he got tased was because the cops didnt want to accidentally touch his weiner when they brought him to the ground. That is a pathetic reason to taser someone - not only that but taser them in the two places on the human body most likely to be adversely affected by electrical current.

You can excuse them all you want but the police were very wrong to use a taser in this incident, and very lucky that by placing the taser on his neck and above his heart, that they didn't kill the man or cause him to have heart failure.

He was continually asked to comply, and like an attention seeking moron he refused and payed the price.

Its not like they pulled out the taser and went ZAP! First they asked, THEN they wrestled with the guy for a couple of minutes and he STILL refused to comply.

I'm sorry, but that there folks is whats called a serial pest. "Hey everyone look at me"

Good on the cops for giving this twit the flick.

Its very easy for someone whose trained, to get someone else into a vulnerable position and cuff them, especially when they are naked and unarmed.

I certainly would prefer to get into a wrestling match rather than shock the poor sod with a taser.

What's next, Tasering someone for asking a question, oh wait....

Aside from the worst case of micro-weiner I've ever seen, what was really disturbing about this video was the way they repeatedly used the taser. The cop was pressing it against his chest, right into his heart, and pulled the trigger several times. Not to mention against his head and neck. That is just wrong! What, were they trying to kill the guy because he was naked at an outdoor hippie festival? I can't believe it was legal for the cops to go that far - he wasn't a threat to anyone.

The taser incident at G20 is police butality. This taser incident with Mr naked clown wizard is not. It's a shame, but we have to accept some can't tell the difference. Personally I am more disgusted by the conduct of those manipulating the masses and putting down level headed decent people who can tell right from wrong.

These wizard supporters hijacked "Freedom" and "Religion". Then they wave these big sticks around telling you that your rights don't matter when you don't agree with them, because their version of "Freedom" and "Religion" is always right. Any stronger or more valid argument from you, will earn you a derogatory and insulting label.

It is sad to see so many people blindly starred these wizard supporters. You, average guy, level headed, reasonable and decent people who want to protect your family and your friends, your rights and your freedom, are a minority. Good luck arguing with the naked wizard supporters.

PS: Please avoid starring my thread. Give your star to decent minority ats members in this post, they need your support.

It was a pagan festival for crying out loud, no kids, everyone seemed to be loving it. There's a big difference between de jure interpretation of the law and de facto, and in this circumstance the cops exercised poor judgment. I know that weed is technically illegal in Vancouver, Holland, and Switzerland but you can smoke in the park and no one bats an eyelash.

In any case it was overkill. This kind of authoritarian butt kissing is the kind of mentality that brings on a police state.

did everyone miss the part where the cop dropped his knee into the offenders ribcage from about 3 feet?
thats the point at which naked man get's freaked out and the other 2 let him go.
as is the natural reaction of such trauma, once let go he got up and tried to move away.
that's when the cops taze him repeatedly for about 5 min's, holding the tazer directly above his heart on his spine.

Is this some tactic taught to police to avoid suspicion if someone dies?
taze, then move in and hold it above there heart, if they dieyou can clam that the tazer hit was away from the heart, where the spikes hit.

the 3 of them couldn't cuff him without resulting to brutality.
are police taught nothing at the academy nowadays?

I have no respect for law. It was written in the constitution that we can change the government as needed. We aren't supposed to bend over for them they are supposed to bend over for us. People seem to forget that. Why protest your hate for the government while following their rules? You gotta be out of your mind.

Also to be noted the more the dirty pigsters are seen doing retarded # like this... the more people won't think twice about killing them/beating them up.

They could have just had the crowd vote OR dragged him to the back of their car, threw the clothes in an make him miss the fun untill he decides to dress up. 3 guys can lift him into the car if they wanted to.

Then again, if the crowd really wanted to protest, they could have gotten nakid too.
