So the game will not play in a console when a non adult is at the controls? You are obviously a young person. As you age you will find out that what you see teaches you a little, but what you DO teaches you much more. That is why a simulation is used to train pilots instead of just a movie.

Firstly, its a PC game, not console. And if a parent raises the kid properly the child wont get their hands on the game. Could they see it at a friends house? Possibly, but so could they see a playboy, a gun, or be molested by some creep on the street.

Secondly, this is no worse than any other violent media, the type of violence just offends your sensibilities more.

Thirdly, simulations are also used to spare a million dollars worth of equipment from plummeting like a rock should something go wrong.

I would also appreciate you stop assuming you know anything about the people you talk to. It makes you look foolish, but if it's so important to the conversation, why don't you share your age first, that we might all understand how long it takes to gain such wisdom.

I am 54. Now it is your turn. I assumed you were young because you seem to lack a point of reference to what things were like before violent video games.

Because you are looking at the impact the game has on YOU as a teenage boy. Not on the impact it may have on people who hear about the game, or see the game, that are perhaps female, and may have been assaulted themselves or know someone who has.

Actually I'm very empathic to rape victims, I am thinking about them. But I'm looking at this from a logical point of view. I'm pretty sure many people who have experienced the horrors of war are disgusted by some war movies. Yet people happily go watch and enjoy them.

Should we ban all war movies? Probably not, because it takes away vital freedoms.

Should we ban this rape game? Maybe if it makes people happy, but where does it stop, when will we start hearing about kids getting arrested for drawing a penis on paper etc.

Taking freedoms away is a huge thing for me.

24, while I lack a reference as to what it was like before violent video games, I am well aware that years upon years ago smoking was actually promoted as healthy, yet we know now it is not.

Is it banned? no.

Violent media studies can barely be preformed properly because of the potential ramifications of the perceived result of over-stimulization resulting in desensitization. So the majority of links are assumptions and backward association with people who were already imbalanced and violent being attracted to violent media.

I have played lots of violent games, watched lots of violent media and even watched seen some rape-fantasy pornography.

I am fine; and thus will defend this as freedom of expression because i see myself as a normal human being. I am not special or immune to the effects of violent. Am I a little desensitized? Yes. Am I going to go out and murder people? Of course not, I am a responsible member of society.

A Rape Game? Really, disgusting.
To the theory that it is a healthy outlet for people with these tendancies or fantisies, scarry...it actually re-enforces the idea of normalcy of their disfunction.
Free speach? Get me some duct tape.
A cultural thing? What culture exactly is it that says rape is normal, legal, and should be practiced by its citizens?

thanks for reminding us how decrepit this world is becoming...

Japan is like that though. They have the cutest, cleanest, most sugary stuff and games and also the sickest stuff. Since they are quite open with certain topics, they tend to have extremes on both side. The only problem I have with is when people start stereotyping or making racists comments of Japan just because of this type of problems. If you think anime is only hentai and is sick, then you are ignorant and a fool. Same thing about games.

I can assure you that most of the world's problems do not just come from video games, there is much more to why the world is the way it is.

I've played violent video games all my life, yet I wouldn't even hurt a fly, and I even happily pick up a spider and put it outside instead of killing it.

There are many generalisations that some older people make about younger people, those younger people who never cause trouble etc but get judged all the time, are getting a bit fed up really.

Video games do not make people violent, the person would have to be violent and crazy already to be affected in any way.

You didnt answer my question. Would a game where people in white hoods lynched black people be ok?

Would a game where Jews, Poles and others, were rounded up and gassed be ok?

Would you find that acceptable?

Its ironic that you said that.
Racist Groups Using Computer Gaming to Promote Violence Against Blacks, Latinos and Jews. This game dates back to 2002

Japanese culture is not western, they have different values and were never infected with christianity.

This is only a game, its not real life!

If you find it disturbing then its up to you to not buy the game but to criticize someone who makes or buys these kind of games is just stupid, games to not influence people, the media saying they do is what influences people.

I would not find it acceptable, but I would not ban it. I would be cautious of it, and the creators. And advice people not to sell it, and for private businesses to ban it if they feel like doing so. But I would not want the goverment getting involved, enforcing laws that could be the start of more laws banning more freedoms, like posting on this site for example, banning religions etc.

There are a lot of sick things out there. But who's to decide what's sick and what's not. Look at some art for example, some people see beauty while others see horror. Perspectives make a difference. Can we trust the goverment in making these choices. Forcing laws that could in the end get too much, and take away something you love...

I understand your point thou. But no crime has been committed.

So murdering virtual people and stealing their belongings doesn't give you a big enough thrill anymore? the "GANGSTA" lifestyle.

I haven't played video games for years now. I never played GTA ... I am going to be honest with you and yes "rape" fantasy turns me on. Now I could care less about games but I like my sexuality to be a little twisted. Now does it mean I got some issues? No, I don't think so. I would never support or enjoy someone being raped in real life. Nor would I ever enjoy someone inflicting pain on others without their consent. Though I would rather not have any movies and computer games that portray violence of any sort .

Thanks to the poster(s) who condemned this game for its violent/inappropriate content and at the same time expressed how much they enjoyed games like Grand Theft Auto. I do like a good laff before bedtime

I'm of the opinion this kind of media reflects the trends in our societies, rather than creating them.

The human shadow is coming out of the closet

Well the world wide web and file sharing opened every house up to whats out there in the dark corners you just have to try to defend your house family and computer from and hope they learn from what you teach them.

As a "Hentai" fan myself, I can honestly say this isn't that bad compared to some of the games and movies out there.

And I'd like to know what's so great about running around a virtual world shooting, killing, slashing, burning, dis-membering, blowing up, bombing, trapping and constantly murdering people.

If you don't like the game in question here but play any of the games that involve weapons it's hypocritical.

At the end of the day, this is a PR stunt by Amazon to pretend they care about something other than money...anyway, there are reams of online sources for these kind of Hentai Games (apparently) so it's not like it's no longer unavailable.
