Vilnai added the 16-day long offensive, which has so far claimed at least 880 lives and wounded 3,690 others - most of them civilians -, "allowed us to reach objectives that no-one could have dreamed about two weeks ago." The official claimed that the war against the territory has caused a heavy blow to Hamas movement. "Regarding the blow to Hamas: they still don't understand what has hit them: they will understand better when they come out of their hiding places."

So if they have been hiding, what have the Israeli forces been attacking? What has been gained from this offensive besides a large number of civilian casualties and deaths? Going by other news sources Hamas has intensified attacks on Israeli tanks and the rockets are increasing... the live feed seems to be confirmation - how can this almost be over?

How did Hamas get an anti-aircraft missile?

Someone got supplies to Hamas?

There was a report on the news feed we were watching, supplies have been smuggled in through the tunnel network - I tried my best to cover it as he was talking a few pages back. Essentially because Palestinians are denied a free market (or any trade whatsoever) the tunnels are essential for food, supplies, luxuries and the like - since this operation has started however, Hamas have used them to bring in weapons.

Could it be possible, that maybe, just maybe, IDF is pulling out because Hamas was either A. too much for them, and they underestimated them. Now they will strategically regroup and layout a better plan. Or B. Hamas has simply been hiding and its been hard to target the leaders, so its time for a retreat and wait for them to show their faces? No matter what Israel is actually doing, they will state in the media that they are pulling out because they have done their mission. But earlier they stated their mission was the decimation of Hamas. I was just watching Al Jazeera, and by the looks of it Hamas is alive and very much kicking. Just a thought. Any one here ever read The Art of War? I think Israel went in without applying two of the five paths, and now its time for strategic regrouping.

Hi All

I don't see signs of any withdrawl here, only intensification and some new anit-aircraft action by Hamas.....am I reading this wrong??

sorry...I was using dry humor on the poster that thought the IDF were retreating....
On a different note...I have to tell ya, if I had to listen to those drones all night long, I just might be tempted to risk trying to shoot one of those damn things down.

Stationary weapon, just shot to the sky and sound is familiar, also way how they hande the gun. After few bombs near, it silenced, shot one burst and quiet after. There are some heavy maschine guns in distance, can not know...
