2.5 2009/01/01 18:13:05 44.551N 110.364W 0.1 60 km (37 mi) ESE of West Yellowstone, MT

It looks like a super massive burp is about to occur.

IF it does remember this is a natural event, and there ain't a damned thing ANYONE can do about it.

So, unless you are totally consumed with paranoia, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

If this is a major ash producing event we could cool the global climate quite a bit... its a good thing!

this is getting very interesting...I've been watch GEE for a few days and this is my first event.

the second quake is a tad bit larger, it was picked up more on the surrounding seismo's

Imma guess 2.8 on the second one

The last is a 2.6 magnitude one:

2.6 2009/01/01 18:21:19 44.568N 110.367W 0.1 59 km (37 mi) SSE of Gardiner, MT
2.5 2009/01/01 18:13:05 44.551N 110.364W 0.1 60 km (37 mi) ESE of West Yellowstone, MT

What's interesting is that it occurred even more north than other ones.
This and the one before were very shallow too.

Ummm did anybody besides me notice this one???

2.4 2009/01/01 03:12:57 44.325N 110.388W 37.0km 68 km (42 mi) ESE of West Yellowstone, MT

DEPTH OF 37KM!!!!! Holy hell that is way down there. Is it just me or does it seem that when we get deep earthquakes shallow ones follow soon after and in a greater abundence??? Something rising?

Oh and don't forget we can't get much more shallow then 0.1KM after that it would be on the surface...

I'm seeing 2 separate events - one a 2.5 (6:13 MST) and one a 2.6 (6:21 MST).

Nice little calms then activity cycles, huh?

Well, if you start at the beginning, you've got about 100 pages of great info to look at. Do that and you'll know as much as any one of us.
There's just no way to compile what we're all seeing in one post, bottom line is "we don't know". Hence the great thread and tons of input by us googleologists
Peace

That EQ hasn't been reviewed by a seismologist yet.
The automatically calculated depth may be wrong.

EDIT
Another smaller one occurred at 01:31 UTC... maybe it's 1.8-2.0 magnitude.
EDIT2
And another even smaller one at 01:33 UTC, maybe 1-1.1 magnitude.
This GEE program is too cool by the way!

.1km depth = 370 odd feet deep. That is Super duper shallow.. Steam probably..

I certainly hope so, that is 23 miles deep. That would be inside the magma chamber if I am correct. Kinda creepy thought, your right though it is probably wrong.
