I wouldn't be surprised if they are linked, if fact it makes sense.

As you can see, none of this is occurring right now, so lets all hope the swarms keep up, so we can all go to Yellowstone National Park in the warmth of Summer, and enjoy a Yellowstone National Park Earthquake in this great year of 2009.

Earthquakes are interesting (in their way) - and scary.
I was in the Northridge CA. one -
...but people going somewhere to purposely BE in one?
You make it sound like a fun ride at the fair.
Not so much.

Comrad "MadDogtheHunter" I'll stand by my own knowledge, unless you can find someone with more knowledge than myself, thank you very much.

Here's some more plate info for those who can't get enough...

Beneath the Pacific Northwest the Juan de Fuca plate, a remnant of the Farallon plate, continues subducting beneath the North American continent. To the east of the Cascadia subduction zone lies the Yellowstone Hotspot Track. The origins of this track can be traced back to the voluminous basaltic outpourings in the Columbia Plateau around 17 Ma. If these basalts are the result of a large melting anomaly rising through the mantle to the base of the North American continent, such as a mantle plume head, the anomaly would need to punch through the subducting Juan de Fuca slab. Here, we use teleseismic body-wave travel-time tomography to investigate the fate of the subducted slab and its possible interaction with a plume head.

Yup, sure sounds like the debunkers and disinformation artists are doing a little Yellowstone-swarming of their own. What a surprise.

And what exactly is this knowledge you possess? Besides what you have stated, that is not knowledge, that is opinion.

You've made statements like this in other threads. Can you please provide an overview of your credentials?

Thanks!

Yes Comrade, opinions are great, but we can't float a boat on opinions alone....we need the body of water called "facts" to stay afloat.

I noticed that too. It seemed to slow down a bit first, but maybe it only looked that way as the others are still sending.

Gosh, I went away for a few hours and had to catch up. Thanks for all the new info and links posted since page 86!

Comrad "LoneIntheDarkness", yes I don't believe it will happen for a very long time. Nothing catastrophic can happen until you see the stuff that I mentioned before in my first post on pg 100; until then don't expect anything drastic.

Question: Can you explain what additional information is needed to convert from the "Microns/second" amplitude data that the seismographs are producing to a "Magnitude" value that we are more "familiar" with?

do you have the link for this?

was this the end of the article? It seems to me that he says it's both unusual and usual. Both nothing and that know one knows what the big one will really look like - (except for the steam issue - but we don't really know what they're seeing.)

And that they don't have adequate equipment - that's swell. get $ from the bailout and buy it now - folks.

Once again I am going to ask you of your credentials.... We don't really care for opinions around here on this particular thread. It is all fact and the fact is what you are saying is just an opinion. Scientists have even stated, it can blow up today, tomorrow, 100 years, or even a 1000 years. No one knows for sure, which in general would mean huge uplift like you described might not necessarily be a symptom of a eruption in the making.

Comrad "KnoBee" my credentials are vast if you have searched other threads and read them. You'll all see my vast list of knowledge soon enough on YouTube in the near future.

All of you are doing a fine job on keeping up on the activity in Yellowstone, but there is no need to worry at this time, so rest peacefully when you sleep, and don't be worried.

And my vast knowledge tells me that you won't be stRuck by a meteorite this evening.

Be well, friend.

In case anybody is interested Spaceweather.com is stating there may be solar weather coming in the next few days. FYI this can directly effect events on earth. Just to keep in mind as we watch this event unfold or not.

No offense really, but why in the world if you have all of this knowledge and expertise would you choose to make said knowledge available only on youtube? Just curious?

I'm trying to find the part on the graph that is the 37 km depth

doesn't it look like there were 2 next to each other at that time on the black line at

10:12am UTC

(I was totally wrong about the blue line -sorry about that - I was confused because of the gap when their machines were down we don't see any of the PM times for 1/1/09 UTC - I forgot that it was 10AM 1/1/09 not 1/2/09 UTC time in UK not USA MT time.)

anyway - so it's still on our MT 1/1/09 - up on top in black before the gap

www.quake.utah.edu...

unless I've confused myself even more and am all wrong I think the 2:00 am MT = 10:00 AM UTC BLACK line is this super deep one and it looks to me like there's a double whammy. but only one shows up in the list.

it's also so far off - I'm trying to find the closest monitor.
