I think I can explain why this thread has continued and why the moderators send everyone here. I'll even use my own foolishness to illustrate the
purpose of this tread at this point. To put it simply, this tread is a amateur cyber-watchtower. A virtual citizen's brigade.
I came upon this thread relatively late. It was started when Yellowstone had it's Yellowstone Lake Swarm in 2008/2009. I didn't find this site until
late in January after someone invited me here. They found me on You Tube. I was having a freakout because Yellowstone was having a swarm under the
lake. I have a whole hypothesis base on a water induced eruption. I've given my idea a million names. I like VME. Or volcanic mass ejection. Just like
a CME. Super Eruption stops short of the really big events in our earth's evolution. Anyway. My fears were justified. If you read the study, lots of
explosive events occur under the lake.
When I came into the conversation I made my claims and provided my information and my videos. No one was impressed and they were mainly taking about
the webicorders and the wierd signatures. They called them "pipe cleaners", I called them "caterpillars". I got distracted and was trying to explain
an alternative idea. In the end, I was wrong. And I regret losing my way. I realized how little I knew about the monitors in the Park. Then there was
the microsiemic noise I noticed and I tried to make a case for that. Obviously these squiggly lines were a language I didn't understand. I had to
learn. So that's what I've been doing here ever since.
We here are a little different. We watch constantly and talk about the little details. And we share any new information like quakes or monthly updates
from the YVO. We are like the Gesyer Gazers. Check them out. Except we are the webicorder watchers. Same goes for Quake Watch and Volcano Watch, and
others, check Puterman's signature.
Why do the moderators send everyone here? Because we know what's going on. At least we think we do. Even the geologists can be wrong as well. Many
times over recent weeks, many have come here because they read this or that and they want to know what's going on. Many of the signatures are hard to
understand unless you've come to know what to expect. I freaked out today when I looked at LKWY. AH. The "pipecleaner/caterpillars are back. I had to
remind myself that this is the usual. It's the usual because Yellowstone's webicorders are ancient. The system has lots of glitches. Another reason to
direct people here is that there have been lots of threads started with little real information. Lots of speculation. And I'm sure this will become an
increasing phenomenon as we get closer to 2012. I'm sure if the threads were started by a real, new event that needs attention, they would let it
thrive.
I haven't been involved in the conversation much lately. I'm hitting the wall. But I was compelled to defend this thread. I know that you are not
suggesting we stop writing here, and it's a shame no one keeping track of all the links and themes. Here's a suggestion. There's tons of information
on Yellowstone all over the web. The YVO and Uof U have tons. You can then find out when all the action was happening. Then try to find the dates on
the post that would have all the discussions about the unfolding event. General comments can usually be answered by all the regulars. Usually I can't
shut up. But you know...
If you want to know what's going on at Yellowstone.
Read the news, then come here.
I'm sure somebody will be here talking about the giant volcano in the middle of North America.
