You just beat me to it!

According to what I have pulled up on GEE right now, it's closest to YPM.

Looks impressive on the seismos.....and so far the depth with USGS is 0.0. Let's hope that get's updated quickly.

EDIT TO ADD: according to USGS it's been reviewed twice already and they still have it as 3.2 and 0.0

Check out YMR, looks like it was knocked around. IF it were really that close to the surface, it would make sense that it was thrown off....

I'll be watching GEE now for the rest of the evening anyways...something is stirring!

Or, YMR has been having problems lately.

Ummm.....no, not by us regular posters, at least. Yellowstone is a VAST cauldron of activity and any kind of change can be a symptom of any NUMBER of possibilities, erruption being the least likely.

So while I get excited about it, it's because of the opportunity to witness these changes as they happen and learn something from it, not because I think 'the big one' is coming.

While several stations have been having issues, YMR is one of the few that has been reliable.

Missing chunks of data isn't very reliable if you ask me.

OK, I see what you're referring to now. Looks like two gaps yesterday. I stand corrected.

I still think though that it looks like a reaction to the quake.

Okay, so YFT seismo did the same thing.

I'm not drawing any conclusions, but I think it's worth noting.

Fair enough, it does look like it shook those two a bit.

west yellowstone got hit by an eq mag 3 at 0km depth. Now thats a bit shallow isnt it? so anything happened in the park due to the effects of this quake?

We're still waiting to see if that depth gets revised. It's been reviewed already and so far is staying at 0.0. If that is, in fact accurate, than it may be significant. The seismos are continuing to be very active and looking at that quake on them. they might indicate it was, in fact very near the surface.

What's it mean? I really am not sure, but it's a bit unusual....at least for that large of one. I'm waiting for Puterman or someone else who is good at analyzing these to chime in.

Doubt that's a 2.5, would've been automatically recorded.
