I'm in Moreno Valley, CA. Just south of San Bernardino. USGS is saying it's a 5.0, 1 mile south of San Bernardino.

Woah...another one just hit. first it was a 4.9...now a 5.0 hit

I mean California is known for earthquakes.

But 2 kinda big ones back to back= uh-oh.

No, just one so far. The initial report was a 4.9 but then I guess they upgraded it to a 5.0.

It really didn't feel like a 5.0 to us. More like a low 4.

The close in recorders are always in the ball park but the bigger the quake the more they rely on more distant stations to fine tune the magnitude.

Some of what was dicussed early in the thread today is applied.

Whatever happened to the right of free speech in this country. to be prosecuted for stating your beliefs is quite absurd. yes, maybe yes there is a conspiracy here not only to silence one individual but to disinform the masses.

Free speech does not include impersonating a Federal official, using the USGS logo and more.
When I first saw his warning I immediately thought, "jeez, this guy is nuts for using the USGS logo as his warning header." I new he would be headed for trouble.

If he would have left out the logo and said IMO a bit more he would be protected to speak freely.

so - do we really think that all of the action in Yellowstone
hasn't effected this area - or visa versa?

Connection? yes.

I'm talking to my brother in San Bernardino on Teamspeak. His cat was acting weird yesterday, so he told his girlfriend that there was going to be an earthquake soon...
Go Figure.

His cat doesn't even have a computer

I suspect that kitty was using the puter in the middle of the night -
when all were asleep.

This page is showing a 5.5 at Carlsberg Ridge at 9:44. It is now finally showing up on my Foxfire Widget also. Where is this at?

earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/catalogs/eqs1day-M1.txt

I got to this page from here:

Generate Earthquake List

This is really a cool page as it allows you to generate a current list of earthquakes and choose the size of quakes you wish to look at over 1.0, 2.5, etc, and a time frame.

Oh yeah!! Good evening, morning, or whatever, and keep up the great work!! This is way more interesting than most of the books I had to study in college. If only colleges would use this type of teaching method, maybe some of us would have retained more of what we were supposed to have learned!!!
