from Deianera

" but the temperature of the water at Yellowstone Lake has become so high in recent years that fish can no longer live in it; & half of the trails in the park have been closed to the public because the pavements are too hot to walk upon. They could MELT YOUR SHOES. I have warned my friends for years not to go there."

This bit of news has not been repeated often.
The rest has. Many members have been asking about the history of the lakes temp and animals behavior.

We have seen on graphs a dramatic tilt or out flow of late from the lake.

On the animal behavior thing (it's something that fascinates me especially) I did see an article written by someone visiting YS recently. I think it was even posted at the start of this thread.

It was a typical touristy report, but specifically mentioned the animals being so close as soon as they entered past a cattle grid. It was explained away by the search for food in colder climate.

But it was notable (to the visitor at least) that the animals seemed to be everywhere once they entered the area. They weren't really worried about Human presence and it was commented that it could be a safety issue for people in the area.

Now assuming this is an enclosed area, the animals would presumably be up against the fence.

I'll see if I can find the article and then link it. But that'll be a while as I'm about to go to work for a 12 hr shift.

Catch you all later.

That was a nice spike to start the new day of data.

Wondering if that was from the latest Indonesian quake.

Has anyone checked Lake Mary's readings? Looks like a BIG one hit a few minutes ago. USGS is not picking it up though. I viewed it at University of Utah.

Anyone got anymore info on that?

I don't know, but I think that maybe some were a bit hasty in thinking that this was over, unfortunetly!

Well, this wasn't in yellowstone so it might not be related.

I've been tracking rsoe for a long time now - and this is the first time I have seen this many wave impacts at one time. They have been increasing in the last 3 months or so - but this is really something.

I still can't get over that there has only been one mild quake in California - in the US actually in the last 2 days. (not counting yellowstone - which still according to RSOE is just a volcano icon now).

Doesn't that seem odd? Look at Indonesia now - they have all the icons piled on top of each other for quakes, tsunamis, giant waves.

There are usually constant little quakes in Calif and Oregon - like in Alaska - and yet we've got nothing posted - zip.

Is it still blacked out - / turned off or something? Do you guys see anything different anywhere else? Compare to a few days ago - when there were so many Calif quakes we were talking about it on this thread. And we all just said - yeah - it's always like that.

now - they've just stopped for 48 hours.

It might not be directly related but the pressure energy released there had to go some where. Q is where next?

That is a very uneasy feeling.
It is too quiet here.

What is a good link to see all that info together? I know I have seen it before, but my brain can't remember what the name of the site is. . . .

I dont know if the black spike was local or not. It's more distant on all the other graphs, so I dunno.
