If that is true this can't be a good thing.
Is there any other source to confirm this?

I agree - its not straight thickish lines - it's still a bit jumpy for my taste.

One thing I notice we haven't seen yet are the deep quakes - they look really different

check out the mt. st. helens graph - they look like drills lying on a table.

When I first installed it just a little bit ago I was getting that error. Then the application crashed hard. I restarted it and I was able to get a connection.

For those using GEE to watch Yellowstone:

If your internet connection is through a router before the modem, the application may take longer to find the connection path. This could lead to a sudden crash on loading. Also, you should either disable any firewall or "allow" GEE to have unlimited (no blocked) access to the web.

Can anyone explain to me what the three different readings for US.LKWY mean? What does BHE, BHN and BHZ stand for?

Thanks in advance.

I wonder what really will be the factor that constitutes weird animal behavior. stories I remember from the earthquake that hit overseas in 04 were things like the elephants heading for high ground, so what should we be watching for. Maybe if we hear of the animals leaving the park it might be the sign?

Usually animals will have an unavoidable "urge" to hide and/or run away from the area that makes them feel unsafe. In earthquake prone areas, people have reported that their pets will disappear for a few days, if outside, before a quake hits, then return shortly after. Something "tells" these animals to hide somewhere for safety.

If you check the documentation page on GEE webpage you'll see that you will more likely encounter connection problems if you don't update your router/firewall settings as described.
I have also seen that if you open stations in the real time viewer without waiting first for other program jobs to end (click on the heart-like icon on top right of the screen to check) you will more likely get connection problems as well.

If GEE jobs (before opening stations in the realtime viewer) don't seem to complete try restarting the program and entering again the real-time world map, then checking them again. This process may require a few tries.

Remember also that stations on the world map don't necessarily have to turn blue to be able to transmit data! The few I selected on my pc are gray and they work perfectly!

Has anyone found a good monitoring widget or software program that has an audio alert or alarm feature?

I think the action has moved.

look at plateau and mary lake on the latest black line

www.quake.utah.edu...

www.quake.utah.edu...

and then look at lkwy

www.quake.utah.edu...

we should be watching a new monitor I think - to where the action is.

it's just so you can see the difference every 15 mins

did you see the harmonics? when they get wild you need the color differentiation - right now I know it doesn't look necessary.
