Pease, please people, running this again-

There are quite a few of us who have been on this thread for some time.

For those of you who may be new or spot checking in there have been quite a few things discussed very often.

One of those things has been the wind.

It has been decided that it is not the wind.

Monitors are buried deeply and though some have questioned this-- our science/experts are not total fools in the field.

They may not be responding to the cituation the way we would like, but that is the way it is.

Please remember this that was posted before:
*Note to all as a reminder*
Typing thoughts and info can be easy to get impersonal even a little mean as it did yesterday off and on. Please be mindful of your wordage.

We are all trying to do our best to understand the data available.

Howdy neighbor!

And to keep on topic, did we just have another small quake? Just stepped back in and I see GEE has a recent one...

Tennessee, so east coast on this end.

Unless it was bad enough and quick enough to make New Madrid open..

I would have time to see some of the show.

I was thinking the same thing about the San Andreas fault opening -

While there's a lull, I thought I'd repost a few relevant links for those just getting here.
New links include wind speed data and LKW borehole drawing.

I've seen some folks asking about odd animal behavior. This is VERY odd. When Whales talk, people should listen.

Yes, that's the one I was talking about above.
Looks like it's having small sets of tremors. I can't relate it to the others because they are still a little "intense" for lack of better words.

I have been lurking for some time and have been interested in Harmonic tremors. Until I just looked at YSB at 08:30 to 8:32 and 10:14 to 10:15 and 15:03 to 15:05 have I seen anything that I would consider harmonic.

I am waiting to see if they stay steady and on a timed lapse earlier right after the 3 pointer it went flat knew an after shock was coming and then for several minutes it was going at 4 seconds then 6 then 10 then went back to normal with a bump here and there.
It was starting to go in time again on 6.5 seconds but stoped after about a minute...

Unfortunately I watched that video. Fine video and all but Yellowstone is not the biggest volcano on Earth.

Speaking of GEE, from what I understand to convert microns/second amplitude to (local) magnitude is not an easy task, as the value is influenced by certain factors and variables which we can only guess or grossly approximate.

Try reading this page for more details...

Another check can me marked as far as warning signs. Lowenstern said that we would see changes to the hydrothermic features of the park if an eruption were imminent. Well, here's a new hot spring that has emerged...

A lot of people have been talking about when a warning might be. The USGS will NOT issue a warning of any sort until ash starts flying. They absolutly will not evacuate until they are 100% sure of an immanant eruption, within a certin amount of time, about 24 hours a head of time. Even then, they are only allowed to evacuate the areas that will be greatly effected. Like, burried under lava. If they evacuate too soon, or give a warning when nothing happens, they are subjected to law suites. On the other hand, if they do not issue an evacuation for the right areas, in a quick and effeciant way as to save the lives of everyone at risk, they could be sued as well. BUT if they claim the didnt know, they dont get sued at all.

Yellowstone is a mystery. It could burp or it could destroy half of the states. There is nothing certin about Yellowstone at all.

My point?

They are not going to warn us. If they do, they will be held responsible for everything that happens afterwards.
