Sorry for the double post, but I found something:
www.foxnews.com...

Propane explosion early this morning Toronto.

Some residents said the blast was so forceful they felt their homes rock as though they had been struck by an earthquake.

"It was just a tremendous explosion and blew all the windows out of the house, just blew the house up, and I just managed to get out of there in time," said Robert Helman, who was covered in cuts and bruises as he fled his home.

Frightened residents within a one-mile radius were ordered to evacuate immediately, and police brought in buses to take residents out of the area.

About a dozen terrified residents — some clad in pajamas and housecoats — found their way on foot to nearby Yorkdale shopping mall, where security offered them water and a place to rest.

This doesn't explain away the rest of the story though being some one reported it in Chicago and London

I'm in Ottawa and I didn't see anything.
Though that MAY be because I was asleep at 4 AM like most people.

oh crap. Now I have to try and get a hold of my friend to make sure he's okay...

Hey guys thanks for the quick work with the news stories about the propane explosion, that's definitely what it was.

It was a very weird thing when it happened. My friend and I heard absolutely no sound, just a bright flash of light that turned night into day. I'd be lying if I said we didn't stand around for a few seconds waiting for the aftershock of a nuke or something.

It's amazing that we were even standing out there to notice.

I was up till 0530 last night in Cleveland OH. I did not experience this phenomenon. Must have been a localized event. Whatever it was. Actually yes. The collider was to go online 8/9 for a shakedown with protons. Things that make ya go hmmm.

I can`t keep up with these threads. They`re the same but they`re not

Toronto time is five hours behind u.k. time so if it was between 3 and 4 am in Toronto then it would be 8 to 9 am gmt.

Cant help but feel like our governments have been warned/threatened about something.
Kind of like "keep your noses out or the next one will be closer" vibe that i`m feeling.
Am i in wrong thread? aaarrrgghh

I've been feeling very uneasy the last two days as well aces. I am on the police scanner now and have already heard about 6 calls in the last two hours in regards to dogs. I feel something is up. Or just paranoid schizophrenia.

A propane explosion at night would cause a yellow light. To the OP was it a yellowy light or did it have the bright blueish white light of daylight.

Also it would not explain darkness in the UK at the same time unless that thread is a hoax.

To be honest with you, I can't remember but I remember it was very close to daylight.

The timing is just too perfect though. A huge explosion in the city at 4am and me seeing this at the same time.

Although I'm approx 50km away from the blast, it really couldn't have been anything else.

That's weird. There's also a thread about a guy who says it was day light out and then it went pitch dark. Something is up. What it is I don't know. But now put this thread and the other one together and lets try to figure out what it is...

Not big enough to be covered in the new though apareently...

I wonder what happen in the UK...

Someone was saying that they were watching a soccer match, and it went dark, then there should be some video.

Don't worry about the Large Hadron Collider just yet. Even though it's due to be switched on for the first time this month, the first particle collisions will take place on October 21, 2008.

Interesting cloud pics there from july.

The dark sky phenomenon boggles me as i saw storm clouds turn as black as space about 2 years ago.I thought our (earths) atmosphere had disappeared and space was creeping in.Then as quickly as it went dark, the clouds changed back to a normal grey colour.
Dont know if this is similar to what anybody else has seen but that is the only way i can describe it.

That is not what I read drama. But who knows what to believe on the news these days. I read in yahoo they were going to collide protons yesterday.
Again, who knows for sure.

The sky did not light up from night to day in this area and I'm still trying to figure out why this is on the front page; and why you all keep falling for this type of garbage. But for the sake of helping the weak-minded, I'll tell you what it was. It was the light on Santa's sleigh as he was headed to the North Pole.

In the clip you linked i see darkness at 1 minute 40 onwards. Is that what you were referring to?
It didn`t show much of it but you can see the crowd in the sunlight then the creeping darkness.

Did it again, sorry.
