The situation with the fires and explosions has finally begun to ease, but more than 12,000 have been evacuated from the immediate area, some to York University.

For those members who may have relatives/friends in the affected suburbs, I suggest checking out cp24 for contact purposes, either live on television or through the website.

The 6-alarm response is testament to the size of the fire and homes/businesses in a 1.5 km radius are being evacuated.

TORONTO — Police have confirmed that a firefighter is without vital signs near the site of a massive propane explosion in northeast Toronto.
The firefighter has been transported to hospital from the scene near Keele and Wilson.

Snip

Residents in the area were shaken out of sleep by a thunderous explosion and vibrant orange balls of fire lighting up the sky when tanks at the propane depot blew up at about 3:50 a.m.

What part of the UK saw darkness? I live in East Anglia, and nothing out of the ordinary, except buckets full of rain.

However, I don't question the authenticity of the event. Also, there is a lot of chatter on the internet about HAARP. It may even have something to do with that, or some other high tech equipment that the governments are working on, and something went wrong.

When are they meant to turn on the Collider? I can't remember it's proper term, but it is going to be smashing atoms.

I certainly would like to know more about it, and why I didn't notice anything here in East Anglia. It is possible that the west coast of Britain noticed the abrupt darkness, more than those of us living in the East.

We have seen this in Alabama in 2000. I was standinging underneath a porch at the Univeristy of Alabama so I couldn't see the sky but something passed overhead that lit everything up. They said it was a meteor and showed ATM camera footage on the news of the sky light up. It was talked about for about 5 minutes and no one ever said anything else about it. There was also no sound, just a lightsource passing overhead.

It looked like the sun came out for a few seconds, didn't it?

it was 2/3 mins from the end of the game.
Jan Venagoor Of Hesilink (Dutch Player playing for celtic) fell back, and it looked as if the floodlights had went off for a second..then i realized it was day time, and kinda got on with my day.

wasnt till i came here, saw a few threads, i thought...hmmmm

nobody else noticed it, and i have seen nothing about it.

if anyone can get footage of the game and check, great.
because i have no clue

Hate to burst your bubble but I live in Toronto and well...notice how it's been raining all morning? Sometimes when it rains the sky lights up and you hear a sound I can only describe as thunderous. Don't panic, that's normal.

one of the wierdest stories Ive ever heard people in toronto claiming the sky went bright and in the uk they claim it went dark at the same time... saw the two threads right next to each other

it reminds me of what happend when there was some kind of unkown explosion in rusiia(?) where a whole forest of trees where leveled and no one knows what it was a comet or nuclear. that was way back in like the 1920's i think. i remember the documentary again ppl in the UK saw daylight in nighttime, theres pics of this somewhere.

I think you are referring to the 'Tunguska event/explosion' that happened in 1908. Google and look it up. Contrary to popular belief, no one is really entirely sure what happened. Whatever "exploded" didn't hit the ground.

I think Tesla was having a field day if you ask me.
