For myself, when I'm speaking of illegals, I'm referring to anyone from anywhere who entered the country illegally. Just thought I'd drop that in.

Fair enough. But why since the media has begun to demonize this issue are we now so concerned. Illegal immigration has been an issue since early in our Countries history. The Irish, the Chinese, the Italians, the Japanese, Vietnamese, etc, etc, etc. Always with the same issues you have listed. But now everyone acts like it is a new issue. Why?
My response to you is: The mexicans are coming into this country ILLEGALLY. That alone makes them CRIMINALS. They DON'T WANT to learn ENGLISH, but want us to learn spanish. WHY SPANISH? What about Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French and German????? They DON'T WANT anything to do with our culture, but want us to adapt to theirs. That is why it is a new issue. You referenced the Irish, Chinese, Japanese, Italians and others. These people came into this country LEGALLY and wanted to become AMERICANS. They learned to speak ENGLISH and assimilated into the American way of life. I'm suprised that the NATIVE AMERICANS are'nt speaking up more. The Mexicans have pushed them aside and are claiming this country as theirs even though they never inhabited this country as the NATIVE AMERICANS did. The NATIVE AMERICANS should be screaming.

Immigration is not a problem, is natural thing to happen, people will always go where the grass is greener, it is not a problem, it never was, at it will never be, its only a problem if you make it a problem, immigration has been around for long time, Im sure some of you wouldn't even be here today if it weren't for your great grand fathers that came to America looking for a better life.

Wet backs have been a common work force since the 1920s and all of a sudden they are a problem? They do pay taxes, when they purchase taxable items. They are having taxes, social security, and unemployment withheld from paychecks, that go unclaimed. U.S. citizens benefit from their tax payments , and they don't. They are the ones that are victimized the most by criminals that live in the same poverty plagued areas that they have to live in. How often do you see a construction site or highway project where there are 6 or 8 fat bubbas standing around B.S.ing while 2 or 3 Mexicans are happily working away ? How many good Americans would sleep 5 or 6 to a room to save the money that they work hard to earn so that they could provide a better life for the families that they send money to? They are better people than you are, they are brown, and you can't handle it. The people that you vote for are the criminals that you should be concerned with.

The minor price differences in goods isn't worth the loss of American jobs, higher health care premiums and higher taxes we pay to make up for them. They're not scapegoats, they're criminals. You seem to be missing the part that they have committed a crime.

I don't know if the price differences are minor. Also if this is such a problem why is the only campaign a verbal one. In other words why not even an attempt to close our borders? Why are we constantly focused on the effects and never the casue. Seems like an easy enough problem to solve, no?

That's nice but what about all the other taxes that they're supposed to pay?

This is simply not true. Have you heard of the bigitied term for Italians "WOP". It stands for with out papers. Many Italians migrated illegally. Same with many of the other cultures I mentioned and the same issue we hear today about hispanics were said about all the rest. Somehow we all managed to survive and I believe we're a little better for it. A little more accepting, a little more educated, and a little more diverse.

Because it's impossible to close the boarders completely.
In other words, just because I leave my front door unlocked when I go to work, it doesn't give anyone the right to break and and still my things.

Yet the system we have in place makes immigration into the country very easy yet very difficult to obtain any status of legitimacy. Why?

No it doesn't. But if you left your door unlocked and were robbed wouldn't you at least make an effort to lock you door the next day? We not only leave our doors unlocked but leave them wide open.

I hope that isn't meant to offend me or make me change my ways.

I would expect nothing less than execution If i went into another country illegally and was caught encouraging rebellion, murder, complete tax evasion, drunk driving, gangs, and illegal employment. The list goes on really.

Illegal is Illegal no matter what.

They take away from our economy, and take advantage of our country like its another toilet to sit on. Im not talking about mexican illegals or canadian illegals, I am talking about all Illegals whether you are from china, or turkmenistan, it doesnt matter, its not fair for the rest of us, that are working hard to make a living, paying our taxes, etc, just to have some freeloaders come in here and not pay taxes. does who come to the USA legally, work on paychecks, get tax refunds, learn the language, and even fight for this country.

and there is the other kind, Those from central America, they cross the border illegally, don't work on paychecks, don't pay any taxes, have lots of ignorant retarded babies, get drunk on public , commit crime and beat their wives.
