Starlike objects that move strangely in the sky

You all might think I'm crazy, but I saw something a year or so ago. While driving on a semi-rural road, both my daughter and I looked up and saw one of these orb things up high to the left of us. It stayed there for about 2 min, and then winked out. It reappeared in the sky directly in line with us, stayed for about 2 minutes, and then winked out again. Then we spotted it to the right of us, it stayed for about 2 min and then winked out. We were watching it, when it winked out the 3rd time, immediately an olive drab green rocket type thing was in it's place. It was fairly large and it wasn't there before. We were both wondering what the heck it was and how did it just appear out of thin air.

i am from az and i see those kind of lights often!!sometimes i think its just my eyes adjusting to the dark but i would swear these "lights" move around like flies or a bee buzzing around..and they are far out there, like imwatching stars move like this

OK, here's an update on my sightings, from my current position (Portugal) I've just watched, from about 10:20 to midnight, a total of 9. My guess is that some of them must be Radio Amateur Satellites or Iridium flares, judging from the information gathered from the website Heavens-Above.com according to my latitude and longitude.

There's some odd things about their movement, some of them are rather quick, as in quicker then passing commercial planes, is it suppose to be like that? Do Radio Amateur Satellites, or Iridium flares travel at higher speeds then commercial planes? Another awkward detail is that some of them, seem to travel in a straight path out of the view (these seem satellites i guess), while others disappear much faster. I get the notion that they move "up".

Another important fact, is that I begin to notice them almost exactly at the same "area" of the sky. All in all i this must be pretty common, because on the only 3 times i attempted to watch them i found them in the sky easily, and I never needed to wait much longer then 10 or 20 minutes.

Stargazing is pretty neat, now that my eye is trained to see them. I encourage everyone to make some attempts and see what they get .

Just to update last night while I was out at a hot tub party I noticed a bright thing in the sky shining red, green and bluish it was brighter than any star and it was moving very slowly to the right, after about 25 mins of me noticing it, it disappeared. I thought it might be a UFO but maybe a satellite or something.
But then 30 mins later while I was in the hot tub I looked in the sky for UFO's and this same object was in the sky again but on the completely opposite side than it was before! and near it was one of the star-like UFOs!
I kept looking at it this time and a couple mins while looking at it my friends dog went crazy!
He started barking at the sky! he was just looking up and around barking like crazy and wouldn't stop, we had to send him in the house, this was about 2-4 am.
I have seen this object about 3 or 4 times before in the past.
After last night I have a feeling they were observing us, as we were in a dark neighborhood in the back yard and the only people out making noise in the area. We are a loud bunch.
I spend a lot of time at friends backyards hanging out with campfires and swimming or in hot tub. I didn't want to say anything before but I do notice they seem to observe us while hanging out in backyards late at night.
I must say after looking at this UFO for a while and then having the dog go crazy, it creeped me out.
I hope they aint following me!

next time we chill with him hes going to bring it and when we see a UFO were gonna blast it with this big light and see if it does anything.

I cant believe this. I'm almost kind of shocked. I've seen the same thing only 3 nights ago. I was on my way to work at about 4:50 AM faceing north in Fresno CA. I saw the first one because it was much brighter than a star and seemed to be moving slowly up in the sky. I pulled off the side of the road to watch this thing and realized i could be seeing something important. I stared at this thing for about 30 seconds and a second bright light exactly the same as the first showed up to the right of it and immediatly was moving at a pretty good clip southwest to north east across the sky. i didnt bring it up on the board because i couldnt get a picture of it for you.

The object was out of sight in about 60-70 seconds and as soon as i looked back at the other one it was fading out of sight the other direction.

I told my girlfried about on my way to work right after i witnessed them.

Thursday night i went out with the guys after work and had a few at the bar. I walked into the house about 10:30 and my girlfriend tells me that she saw a starlike object but bigger than a star that was more bright and noticable moving from west to east... And moving faster than a 747. She saw this on thursday night at 10PM

I'm totally up for forming a club or a group that wants to dedicate some free time to try and get some pictures of these things. I dont have any of the really nice technologies, but i do have a digital video camera. We're going to start by watching tonight. I'm conviced these are not satalites or airplanes. I saw no running lights and didn't hear any jet motors, I live right in the flight path of Fresno airport and these were definately not planes.

Count me in on the club U2U me or something becasue we've seen them and we're gonna keep watching. I'm really excited that so many people have seen these lights!

Last night I didn't stay up a long time into the night, but while out didnt see anything unusual. I'm going out to scout the area right now. If there's anything will let u know. My camera can pick up airplane lights and brighter stars, I hope I can get one of them on film with a point of reference that is stationery. Keep this thread going guys hehe

I'm about to go hang out and bun some chronic, i'll try to spot something if im outdoors tonight.

I'm seeing them in Indiana, too. Have been for 3 years or so, and on several occasions. Is what you're seeing orangish-amber colored, similar to some streetlights? Thats the color I've seen every time except once, and that time there was a blue flash right down on the horizon. It was immediately followed by a red flash further up, yet still relatively low. I got that one on tape as well.

I made two of the anonymous posts earlier in this thread. I've half a mind to go outside late in the evening more. The dog could do with more walks anyway. All I need (and want) is a very good set of binoculars, if I can convince the wife I really need them. ;-)

Anyhow, regardless of what it is we're seeing, I'm very fascinated by it, although having only seen such lights myself once for a whopping 10 seconds total, as I explained in my longer post on page 2 (I think it was - the anonymous post).

I'd love to see more pictures and video. Everyone who walks outside in the evening or at night, should make it obligatory for themselves to bring a camera (and a small tripod, although it's annoying). I'll certainly try to start doing that all the time.

Not necessarily new.. As I said before, my encounter involved seeing dozens of these objects in 1996... I'm not saying my encounter has any more credibility than anyone else's, but I did finally document it on MUFON a few years ago so you guys know I'm not making this up!! It is possible this has been going on for decades/ longer? Maybe people noticed them before and just didn't know what they were seeing! I'm sure most people would categorize any small, moving, point of light in orbit as a satellite. But most people probably don't watch the night sky as adeptly as some of us do..

The night my encounter happened, for example, it was the exact night that the mir was docking with the spaceshuttle. The news said that you could see them going by in the night sky so we watched very closely for anything moving. ONLY then did we notice dozens of small objects moving in all different directions, joining, separating, and disappearing randomly. It was like some orbital airshow going on right friggin above our heads...

I've been reading up and doing searches on this type of "moving star" UFO and I think it's important for people to realize that there are no moving stars in the night sky (at least not fast enough to notice). The stars move very slowly across the sky because of earth's rotation (but I think pretty much everyone understands this I HOPE). Secondly, objects that appear to be satellites are either going to be moving (traveling in a straight trajectory) or geostationary (remaining in one synchronous location above the earth as the earth rotates). Third, Satellites can appear to appear and disappear depending on the reflectivity of the satellite, the satellite's orientation with regards to the surface of earth, and the location of the sun when the satellite travels overhead. If the angle is just right and the satellite is perfectly aligned you can sometimes see satellites moving into the earth's shadow ( seemingly disappearing) or out of the earth's shadow (seeming to appear from nowhere). And sometimes satellites can become extremely bright and then fade away slowly just depending on where the sun is with regards to the satellite.

But what people are seeing involves objects being seen sometimes in large numbers (dozens, hundreds?) and these objects (just as in my case) involve doing things that no ordinary satellite or man-made spacecraft can do.. They can move in all different directions, change trajectory right above your head multiple times, travel at different speeds, join together, separate from one another, appear, disappear, etc.. They never make a sound, they are not aircraft, and they can't be man-made satellites.. MAKES YOU WONDER..

And after seeing a multitude of UFO footage videotaped by NASA equipment in orbit, it's no wonder we are seeing these objects from the ground too (at least on occasion). I'm sure that many times this occurs and people don't notice it. Unless it is supposed to be designed "FOR US" whatever that means..

I have Been looking at rense.com and found a very intresting set of 14 page ebook/blog whatever u wana call it.It deals with what we have up in space and things unknown as well.The guy takes pics with his telescope tracking space debri at first,then dicided to catalog sattilits and actuly look at them.Anyway the relation besides sattiltes to this thread is he also talk about spaceships ether erthbuild/or other,but he talks about them uncloaking when they enter the atmospher and causeing a blue flash.
it a very intresting bit of info,started out as a space trash cataloger,and found more then he bargined for lol.

Update
this weekend I saw a lot of UFOs and some seem to be different types
I have footage of the redish UFO I was talking about before.
Over 1 hour of UFOs on film

On Saturday night 05 July I was on my balcony smoking with my friend and we saw this redish UFO in the sky again so I got the camera and put it on the tripod and started filming.
I will get on to PC as soon as I can so everyone can see.
When close up on the camera the center is bright white and around it had colors spinning looks cool, filmed it for a long time and while filimg we saw another UFO moving slowly across the sky, golden/white and hover behind a building thats 3 buildings away from me on my street!! afetr about 30 sec I saw it move between the building behind it hovering from one building to the next, really low at about the middle floors of the building.

The next night which was last night we saw this redish UFO again but this time there was 3 in the sky and I happen to catch 2 of them on film at the same time with another golden/white UFO flying across the sky passing near one of the red UFOs
So I have a full tape of 60 min+ of UFOs on film I'll get to uploading it to the net as soon as I can.

Sounds good, if we all get videos and post more of our experiences this thread will become one of the most solid threads on UFO's.

Has anyone else been having trouble spotting one of these ufos?

Been looking at spectacularly clear skies during the new moon but haven't had any luck.
