with the growing membership maybe do a competition or recruitment for more mods?

We invite members to become part of our staff based on the merits of their participation.

All I am asking for is a simple yes or no statement from Springer, or SO.

Not at this time. In the future, if resources permit, we may reconsider.

No one benefited more than you, than when you removed staff edits and notices from one of your posts intentionally and I took no action other than to replace what was removed.

Hold on.... I was going to point out a problem to the Site Owners about how members could remove the mod edit. Maybe it has been touched on maybe not. But, if a mod does an edit, the member shouldn't be able to edit it.

I was going to use my case in point. But, I totally forgot about it.

Thank you for your prompt answer SO.

Incredibly, incredibly disappointing for me, but at least I finally got my answer

The whole issue in jhill's thread was not really about selective mod'ing, in the beginning.

My whole issue was that I called out a mod who was acting as an expert in a subject and he was flat out wrong. Other members of the staff did not take kindly to that, and acted like mod's are above reproach, and are never wrong. Well, in this case, the mod was wrong....and the other staff cleaned pretty much everything up and swept it under the rug.

It really was just plain wrong, regardless of whether my tone was harsh or not. In that case the tone was very warranted.

I am sorry if any feelings were hurt, but thats the way it is.

Don't worry. We are just way too busy with too many other projects that require the resources and time, remember we are a young start up, but as we get these other initiatives established and turning a profit we will have the time and money for these things.

Patience, Padawan, patience.

I won't rule out a field trip for this year all together, although I doubt this would be the one. There are a few "hot spots" and Johnny recently went to one and has a good report about it in the ATSMIX forum.

Depending on what happens the next few weeks we may take a closer look at that.

Springer...

At the moment, The Above Network LLC is not seeking additional financing.

The issue was not that you questioned the validity of statements by a mod, but in the highly confrontational way in which you did it. And even now, you're using terminology like "called out" which indicates you may be more interested in argument than productive conversation. The response you received for staff, for the intensity of your comments, would not have been any different if you had "called out" a member in similar fashion.

LOL!!!!!

That's going to be difficult; since James' Mix interview I've been feeling so strongly that something BIG will go down when Team ATS goes there, it's a little overwhelming..... I've been practically bouncing off the walls out here....

I don't know if you really believe in Jedi-like powers of intuition or not, or that I've had creeps making veiled threats and all that, but I'm sure glad you're listening and keeping an open-mind anyway

Yeah, again I think James' "Science, Spirit and World Transformation" conference coming up in July would be an incredible opportunity for you, and something big is going to happen there this year; but if it ends up that you wait until another year, I guess I'll just have to deal

I have an issue with a thread by an ATS insider. Since this is the ATS issues thread, I now take the podium.

I am deeply offended by a thread started by dave rabbit called butt darts. ATS should not be a portal for weird anal activity and I absolutely am sickened by this thread and the level of interest it attempts to gain.

Why is this anal activity allowed and why would dave rabbit post such freakish activity besides burning down the T&C which always seems to be thrown about for other stuff.

Get that trash off the pages of ATS. I gagged when I saw those pictures of, I assume dave rabbit, with a quarter tucked in the fold of his crack over a shot glass. Than the readers were subjected to seeing the quarter with some staining on it to give the impression it was tokenized by the unclever way it was made to perform a sick act.

Absolutely disgusting were my words when viewing that thread and its sordid images. I lost any respect for dave rabbit for that truly fetish act. Take it down with a warning to its author, no more trash on the pages of ATS.

I don't know of a better way to put it than "called out", because thats pretty much what it boils down to. My entire issue springs from the fact that ADVISOR gave information in a tone as if he were an expert on the subject, or in the very least has a great deal of knowledge on the subject.

I then made a post in which I stated that pretty much all the stuff he said was suspect, and that the fact that he so grossly misstated the even elementary facts of the subject calls his credibility into question.

After my initial post, which may have been a little blunt, but far from violating the T&C of this board, another member of the staff, Intrepid, came in and acted as though ADVISOR was infallible, and that everything in his post is to be taken as the gospel, with no questions asked. Intrepid, jhill and I went back and forth a few times, then before anything was settled Mirthful Me comes in and deletes all posts and deducts points.

The fact remains that ADVISOR's information was totally incorrect, and actually if what he says is true, illegal. Not only do you have to have the proper clearance to view classified material, you have to have the proper clearance to even BE IN THE SAME ROOM when classified material is present.

Do you not see my point at all? Go back and read the posts and go read ADVISOR's posts....he is 100% wrong, and Intrepids reaction to me "calling him out" (for lack of a better term) is what led to this whole thing.

After my initial post, which may have been a little blunt,

You continued to be "blunt" (understatement) in this post... "I have to believe that you are full of it." Such habits in expressing yourself tend to have a negative impact on your credibility.

Again... it's not what you said, it's how you said it. And your recent reply seems to show that you're unable to fathom or accept that simple nuance.

So that is all that you have to say about that entire post? I fail to realize how my tone somehow detracts from my credibility when I present the 100% accurate and true facts. Forget it.....I now understand how it is around here. Next time I will attach a picture of a care bear or hello kitty to my post, and maybe the real problem will be addressed.

All that I can say is wow......

I am sorry but I had to comment, that was the funniest thing. A care bear.

But, in seriousness. I think since you took the stance you took, that is about the best answer they will give you.

It's like my post Sites like ATS. I bet about 75% of the people who clicked on it read the entire post. The other 25% just read the headline and thought it was another ATS is the CIA type thread, in which it was not. I said Sites like ATS, and I am using ATS as an example. People just don't read the entire thing, I see where you are coming from.

The thing is, I have not even insulted anyone, called anyone a name, or anything like that.....the real issue has not been addressed because I am being blunt.

I'm sorry, I'm a grown man, and I don't talk to other grown ups like children. I just don't understand why the real issue is not being addressed.

The care bear thing is probably not gonna go over to well, but c'est la vie.

Yea, I'm saying. If you don't direct it the right way, which I guess there is a standard somewhere.
They think you are just ranting on. I have found your posts to be rather intriguing. You seem very very smart on the subject matter.

No points were deducted... The "Off Topic" option was used which does not deduct points, nor does it place a "Warn" icon on your profile.

The action was deemed necessary by a staff consensus, and was implemented in order to get the thread back "On Topic."

Which it has been.

Well how did I lose 500 points then? It may not have been you personally, im not really sure...but one of the staff most definitely warned me and took 500 points.

Can you tell me what I have said that justifies a warn and 500 point deduction?
