I have a simple question:
Do you fight inhumane people with "humane" tactics? Is shooting a person in the head more humane than stripping them naked and taking pictures?

Well, I think the shooting them in the head is a bit more permanent, but I could be wrong.

It's called human dignity, and it is based upon someone else's. Dignity is a choice and is not arbitrarily based on another individual.

You know what your right. Stripping them naked, torturing them, making them do things that is not normal is very humane...[sarcasm]

I would rather die with a bullet in my head then with someone else's d*** in my hand. If Russia and China were to invade the US would you want them to treat you the same way these soldiers are treating their lab ra...prisoners?
Would you want them to strip your 25 years old son, beat him up, take a picture with another jail mates scrotum in his hand, or would you want a dumb soldier posing in a picture with your dead son?

Yep sound very humane to me, how about you?

Any proof they still do this? Also they need to stop, you know every country has problems like this. And isnt these ppl in jail. On the other hand the terrorists are worseso i would rather have this torture than terrorist torture. I have yet to understand how ppl can do these things to ppl. Why would anyone American or not like to torture. But would you rather have your throat cut by a really dull knife or have your arms & legs pulled off or the sick things evil counties do. This isnt that bad in comparison to some countries. But they still need to stop. And guys why are we not talking about what other countries do also, you would find some horrible things.

No one has said that. I am not saying soldiers are evil. Governments run by guys who actually don't risk their lives are the problem. No one is attacking American soldiers in general here, so drop it.

Actually yeah there has been attacks of American Soldiers on this thread. I don't appreciate it at all.

All those pictures say to me is we are pretty dang civilized. If you don't like war don't look. A lot of thing I could say but some people think were still fighting humans! Were not! Get over it.

Such a strong reaction, I certainly hope all of you are even more outraged over the deaths and mutilations of US troops and innocents like Daniel Pearl and Peter Berg among others. Hey remember those 3 contractors who were killed, then had there bodies dragged through the street, put on fire then dropped into the river?

So your the type of person who justifies one wrong action for another? Because it's not like the US destroyed Iraq right?

i find it even more incredible that some people here are actually DEFENDING this behaviour.

all in the name of brutish dominance over weaker humans.

frickin' noble.

the good, the proud and the few? no evidence supports this moniker.

"i've seen worse in nam". that justifies it.

"they are barbaric". that justifies it.

"they are fundamentalist zealots". so crucify them.

"they murder thousands". "we" murder millions.

the telltale thread. *thump, thump....thump, thump....*

So your one of those people who think it is ok for one side to be barbaric while expecting the other to play nice and by rules that don't exist??

Of course if you read my post a little closer, you will see that NO WHERE did I defend any of those actions, in FACT I clearly stated that I hope that all the people here making such a fuss over these pictures have equal or greater outrage over the barbaric acts of murder committed against non-comms.

It's people like you who show me just how unreasonable and sick this world is. You are actually defending barbaric acts of murder against people, one of whom I listed was a reporter.

I didnt send them there , They had a choice . The poor Iraqis DIDN'T . Where dont you get this ?

YOU are the one defending the sick putrid scum killing innocent children and then touting the pictures like a prize buck at a family reunion.

I sleep well at night . I bet they dont. Heck i sure hope they dont .

Not only that, aren't a lot of those pople in that prison possibly innocent? I've heard that a lot are there without charges, and could easily be innocent people.

No proof of anything, just thrown in there just because they were in the wrong area?

Guilty until proven innocent.

And lets say that the rapist got away with it by winning. Well that pretty much changes things doesn't it? Does North Vietnam have any regrets?

let me repeat what i said for clarity...
if we didn't show them how to pump and refine the oil they would still be living like savages sir.
has anyone even thought to mention the iraqi's and what they think about the abuse of those prisoners????????
i don't think they mind at all that we are treating those prisoners the way we are. do you think no matter what our motive's are that they would want to be back under the sadam regime?? i seriosly doubt that. do you for one minute think that they would want us to release those terrorist's into their society and walk away?? i seriously doubt that also.. so for you to sit in you comfy little computer chair sippin your latte's and watching our slanted news reports try and say what we are doing is wrong for the situation over there is completely obsurd pal...
all of you people who run your big mouths about how wrong this situation is and don't phisically do anything about it, your opinion's dont mean squat to the prisoners ,the service men over there and especially the iraqi citizens who have to live everyday with muslim insurgents trying to kill you for not bowing down to their god at the specified time's and not making your women wear burka's at all time's.
here's a simple solution for the one's who disagree with my inference of the situation.. max out what's left on your credit cards , sell your over sized SUV ,cut out starbucks for a couple of weeks and use that money to go over there and help the poor iraqi people who desperately need your knowledge on how to save their world and start history in the right direction so the rest of man kind can live in harmony..
thank you for your undivided attention

I defy you to show me anywhere in this thread where I defended them. I think your reading comprehension skills are greatly lacking.

some were apparently children, for pete's sake. sick, sick, sick.

there is no excuse for dehumanisation. animals cannot be trusted. so, why turn someone you need info from into one? they will lie to stop the torture. they wil confess to crimes they never dreamed of, and deeds they couldn't possibly have done.
