i'm going to ignore everything else and follow the mod advice and just get on with the topic. it's pointless to keep arguing over it

we've yet to prove that atheists are organized, let alone that they're conspiring to overthrow christianity.

bottom line: this thread should be dead, as nothing has been proven and a good portion of the posts have been pointless bickering (i'm guilty of it too)

In the long run you cannot overthrow a faith... it dies in the heart.

Christianity, like Islam will die because of their own behavior... not from external conspiracy.

I'm not sure why you and others keep claiming this, MIMS. No, not all atheists are organized just like not all Christians or religious people are organized. However, specific atheistic organizations (let's emphasize that word) have been provided again and again throughout this thread. It has also been shown they are not just clubs where tatheists get together for brunch but are active in politics and how they meddle with church affairs and business. I'm tired of repeating myself at this point and will not explain it all again but there you have it.

Not to mention, as has also been said repeatedly, it only takes two to conspire but we have provided organizations consisting of thousands of members as well as the fantastic four of atheism who seem to have a mission to make religion obsolete.

It's confusing to me at this point to see it claimed over and over again that nothing has been proven. It most indeed has been proven. The odd thing is, in the Christian threads we admitted to there being some shady business. What did we say though? That we were not in on it. From my end it looks like some atheists in this thread are taking it personally and are defending it personally. My question is Why?. If you're not in on it (and I do not believe anyone here is), then why the vocal denial? Why can't atheists acknowledge that there are conspirators but reprove them in the same fashion Christians acknowledged a conspiracy but reproved the conspirators? Why keep saying nothing has been shown when examples exist all throughout this thread?

Personally, Ash,
I do not think it should be answered again.
It has been addressed by several other members also.
One gets the feeling after awhile that certain members do not intend to GET certain things. Ever.

In the words of Intrepid, "Never attempt to teach a person that refuses to learn."

Hear, hear. I give up on this thread. There's people out there who are confused or unaware but then there's dense and in denial. Can't make anyone see who doesn't want to see. It does seem this thread's premise has been adequately verified and evidence has been provided over and over again. I like Intrepid's quote. Seems fitting to the occasion.

Take care, everyone. See you guys in another thread, no doubt.

Well said! Very good point, and something worth considering. Sometimes faith is its own worst enemy.

I am bowing out also.
Hopefully the really intelligent will follow suit.
I think this dead horse has been beaten enough.
He's beginning to stink.

Are there members asking for this thread to be closed?

Are there members asking for this thread to stay open?

I personally thought the discussion was deadlocked 40 pages ago.

Just wondering.

I vote to close.
Don't want a one-liner hanging here.
Please close it, Cuhail. This thread has become quite nauseating.

Sizzle for president!

Oh... er... I mean... I vote 'close.' However, it was closed earlier and is now open so it looks like an executive decision that will render my vote worthless.

Let me tell you ALL something, that I've learned in my travels:

Believe it or not...I myself...have been around a few blocks, and want to tell YOU ALL something

I think, that the best 'reproach' that ANYONE could have with EVERYONE, is the fact of 'letting down our guards'.

I know this sounds strange....let me continue...

Everyone who has replied to this thread, has had their 'dander up' or better yet their backs against the walls

I don't blame people for fluffing their feathers. Lord knows, I do...from time to time.

What REALLY gets to me...are those who think they 'know it all' and those who think they have the EXACT Scientific explanations about EVERYTHING.

Scientist are flogging the Religious, who in turn are flogging themselves, for exact proof to provide a stance unto themselves.

I've been watching the threads for a longggggggggg time, and am still waiting for both sides to come forward ....as one.

Pipe dream? Probably.

It sickens me...and others, that BOTH SIDES act like a child, always pointing a finger of blame, accusing others.

"You are wrong because this isn't logical"

"You have NO feeling unto others but yourself."

"Where is the PROOF?"

...it's been shown that they help with lobbying, but not that they interfere with the private business of any religious institutions or people's personal practicing of religion.

they attempt to take down the nativity scene in front of a court house, not the one in front of a church or on someone's front lawn (unless that someone happens to be a public official living in a house provided by the government ie a governor)

as for the "mission to make religion obsolete"
that's not "overthrowing"

from the free online dictionary

1. To throw over; overturn.
2. To bring about the downfall or destruction of, especially by force or concerted action: a plot to overthrow the government.

they wish to bring about change through the spread of reason and people's personal choice, not through some sort of secular "holy war" against religion

the thing is here that there is no shady business, there's just some people that are trying to spread freethought.

basically, by your standards, religious people preaching and proselytizing as well as influencing politics in any way is equivalent to a conspiracy for them to overthrow all religions that disagree with them
