LOL! So now I'm for Mike Huckabee! LOL! Well if you haven't go back and read through the whole thread. You would see I'm actually for Bill Richardson but never mind the facts.... Oh and Huckabee and Paul are the same. Two religious kooks who want to force everyone to believe just like them. So you're only talking about yourself.

Now if the title of the article was "Who is Ron Paul? The record breaking $6 million candidate?" or something to that effecdt I would be elated but when I clicked the link the title is "Paul rakes in millions despite low polling among GOP" as always they acknowledge the $ but at the same time add a negative spin. If the article originally had the title "Who is Ron Paul?..." and was changed to the "...despite low polling...", I find that very interesting.
It's all about the spin but I will say front page is much better than what he has been getting.

So now you're fine that Paul does malpractice. Who knew you were for him doing something illegal? Huh. The last time I checked it was still illegal. So I guess having the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was the "nanny state." And I guess the government shouldn't have to take care of it's people. How pathetic. And the president's job is to have a mandate to change America. He/she sends their ideas to Congress and they get it through. And you think Ron Paul's ideas are going to get through Congress? Keep dreaming buddy.

But his personal opinion isn't the point. Hell, he could just as easily believe in euthanasia, yet support the Constitutional position of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

Too many people want to vote for what they want, not what is legal under the Constitution. The federal government now leaves almost nothing for the local population to decide. This is why we have a "nanny state". Those things that are not directly listed in the Constitution as federal rights are up to the states to decide.

Now the guys a baby doctor, so do you really expect him to be for abortion? For Pet's sake, you're not voting the guy in as American Idol, you want somebody that follows the law. We've already had too many people in the Oval Office who thought they had a mandate to change America.

Aww how sweet. You're showing your ignorance and doing sterotypes. Awww!!! Oh do you drive on the roads that were paved by the federal government? Well better not do that. Do you get mail delivered to your house? Oops there you go again. Do you support having the fire and police departments? Oops there you go again. Hypocritical and typical.

Funny how all the things you mention are funded by excise taxes. And you don't have to pay them. You can choose not to pay the gas tax which pays for roads, you can choose not to pay property taxes by renting, which pays for fire, police, and schools.

Typical, hypocritical? At least I know the fracken tax code, what do you know about it, other than there is no way you or your classmates would ever survive without it. Maybe I'll start up a fund for you and the rest of your socialist friends. Get you enough money to start a commune or something. At least you'd be out of our way. Oh wait, that was already done, en.wikipedia.org... . Thought for sure I'd see you in one of those pictures.

The last thing I'm doing is showing my ignorance, sweetheart. I know more about your defunct style of government than you do. And probably more than that fat baby boomer college professor that corrupted your mind. As far as stereotypes go, I'm guilty, and I don't care. Socialists are the 2nd worse kind of human being in existence today. You are thieves. You think you deserve everything for nothing. You say the same things Hitler and Stalin said, with your constant banterings of "equality", and "every person a king". I know exactly what you are. And so does history. Socialists have destroyed production, stifled the human spirit, decreased the quality of life, taken children away from their parents, put those children in the care of the state. Interfered with the doctor patient relationship, destroyed our schools, and made people dependent on government.

I've never claimed I thought otherwise.

Getting Ron Paul in office is only part one. Part two is voting out all your treasonous Democrat and Republican congressmen. keep thinking we have no support, I can't wait to see your face the day your nanny state disappears. You be like that lady on the news during Katrina, yelling at the news crew, saying "somebody needs to come down here and give me a check!".

What do you suppose would happen if he were to get elected. Or do you suppose we(the masses)would never find out about it? It's going to be my first time voting this next election, and Ron Paul has my vote if he gets that far, I just get the feeling that something bad is going to happen.

You're right - it is scary and I think they want us to be sacred. I almost feel like they are directly threatening us. They want us to be scared one way or another - either by hyping up the whole "terrorist" thing or by taking away our rights and creating secret prisons. In a way they are not giving us any choice but to be scared. We are definitely under attack. But perhaps it is slowly starting to turn on them - maybe all this fear mongering is happening because in reality they are scared. I don't know what is going to happen but I definitely feel a mass consciousness slowly coming to a boil.

I also don't believe this "momentum" started or will end with Ron Paul.

That is such a good point. Doesn't it seem like things are getting more and more blatant? Might that be on purpose? A few weeks ago I came across a video of Naomi Wolf giving a talk about the 'ten steps to closing an open society.' She mentions in the video that when she sees videos of people being tasered for no good reason, it makes her suspect these things are being circulated in an effort to make Americans more afraid. Remember that fear makes people easier to control.

The End of America - by Naomi Wolf - Youtube Video

Even if Paul doesn't win the presidency I think that this movement will have started something big. Perhaps it will be something that could take a long time to germinate, but at least we have proved to ourselves and each other that we do have power. We've discovered that none of us stand alone, we'v discovered that we can make a difference as individuals in small ways that add up. That is very valuable. I want us to stick together in the upcoming year and beyond and to never give up.

On a side note, let's not feed the troll. I am finding that 'ignore' button to be my new best friend. And BTW- the mods here on ATS are SO nice. Seriously, on a different domain forum I got personal attacked by a mod just for disagreeing. We are so lucky here.

Southern Belle, I'm not a democrat but to be honest with you the democratic candiate with the most experience above all the other candiates whether republican or democrat is Bill Richardson. I'll have to see where Ron Paul stands on the other issues but my main concern is to keep a democrat out of the White House and if Ron Paul was the republican nominee, he would surely lose to Hillary Clinton. and she scares the hell out of me and would destroy this country.

I disagree with that assessment. I think Ron Paul is the only shot republicans have, he would eat anyone alive in a one on one debate. If republicans would just get behind him, he would be a shoo in. Hillary doesn’t like to talk about specifics and Ron Paul would force her to. I think all the other candidates will just jump into the mudslinging with her and your feared Democrats will win.

[edit]
Ron Paul would add a lot of votes to the standard republican base.

No there darlin I didnt go to college and get a degree, I went to a trade school, I have taken several classes of interest to me, but college was never for me. My wife has gone to college, obtained her masters degree, and now works in the field of social work. She held quite a few beliefs that you seem to have at this point in your life, had it all figured out. She wasnt quite as much of an outspoken advocate of socialism as yourself, but still thought that government taking care of people was a good thing to do. Now she works with people that live off our tax dollars, she sees how they take advantage, she sees generations of families that have never worked, but still have the money to get their cell phones, get their nails done, buy their cigarettes. Now she sees how absolutely turned around and out of touch with the real world she was when she was in school.

I am going to say this again, read it really slow so it gets in your brain. You have every right to believe what you believe, I dont deny you that, and I really dont think anyone else here denies you that. You are being singled out because you are spreading your holier than thou socialist agenda to people that dont want any part of it. Just as you wont allow the country to go libertarian, I will not allow it to go any farther toward socialism then it already has. If I were you, the one person I would listen to would be aravoth, he/she should be your shining light to lead you out of the path of darkness you are wandering aimlessly down. Many good points have come from that person on the dangers of socialism, and I would say a person that has been around the world in the military, probably has more of a clue then some idiot college professor, imo.

You believe what you want, you have highjacked this thread, and absolutely destroyed it. None of the other people that disagree have done that, they have simply provided sources, and arguments against why Ron Paul isnt their guy. Most of them have also remained on the original topic when disagreeing as well.

I have never posted on ATS before...this will be the first time for me
I have just kinda been in the background reading and reading and reading....I have read every post in this thread and many many others ranging on all different kinds of topics, but this is the first thread that I have felt compelled to reply to. I didn't know much about Ron Paul untill being informed by this thread and taking the time to do some research on the man myself because of it!! For that I thank the, oh how do you say it here OP?Well any way the person who started the thread thanks!

I do think Dr. Paul hasen't gotten a fair shake in the MSM polls due to the complacency of the MSM and what they believe their demographics actually consist of.....In other words I really feel they are out of touch. Thats why you get local talk show hosts (HHH) in midsized american citys (Knoxville, TN) conducting their own mini-polls and being confounded by the results, they too adheer to the standard practice of regurgitating what they are fed through the channels of information dissemination....

Wow,

This started out as a mildly interesting thread until Southernbelle showed up and urinated all over it.

It's one thing to offer criticism but writing double and triple posts over and over again and using ### as language is just plain spiteful and distracting from the views and comments of others regarding the original post.

Someone must have forgotten to take their medicine or something.

As a side note about Mr. Paul; He was just mentioned on the CBS evening news!!!! They sounded surprised at the amount of money he raises and admitted that he is now the fourth player in the Iowa primary.

Naturally, they also said it was about who he would be taking votes away from, rather than the fact that he is a viable candidate in his own right. But at least they are being forced to see that he does have a place on the MSM list.

First of all don't claim to know me or anyone else but your damn self. Get over your holier than thou pathetic crap. It doesn't work here at all. You know nothing about me except what I talk about on the threads I participate in. Everything else keep your damn assumptions to yourself. Got it? Now those are a few examples I used. They're not everything. And newsflash honey: once you pay taxes that money is no longer yours. You no longer have a say what to do with it at all. The only say you get is by voting. End of story. Just like when you give a candidate or a charity organization money they're free to do with it what they will. It's now THEIR'S. Same thing with the government so stop acting like you still have some say over what happens with the money. Congress has that authority not you. Maybe you should try reading that Constitution in it's entrity you like to proclaim to know so well. Seems like you don't know it quite so well as you think. God are you #ing ignorant on socialism. Why don't you shut your mouth and do some reading on what socialism is? Stop being such a holier than thou prick and READ! You all talk an awfully lot about other people being brainwashed but y'all are brainwashed just as much as you like to claim your so-called "enemies" are. You don't know # what you're talking about. So hun when an actual socialist tells you that you don't know # doesn't that make you think a little bit? "Gee maybe I'm wrong and I should do some research!" Or if you're too lazy to do your own research how about you actually ask the socialist! Now there's a freakin brilliant idea! Why don't you use it? I won't mind at all. LOL! You're #ing pathetic. You've been brainwashed and you don't even damn well know it. LOL! Get a damn book.

Just caught this on CNN...

www.cnn.com...

Not too shabby.

Not sure what to think of this thread yet, Southernbell, you are an interesting character. Actually, on a couple of things I might agree with you on but when you made the 'religious nuts' comment you sort of lost me.

As for everyone else, of course I'll be voting for Ron Paul in the primary AND the main election.

As far as socialism? I know this is not the thread for it but I would urge some of you foaming at the mouth against it to realize that unrestrained capitalism is far worse than socialism and we are headed towards that 'unrestrained' state at breakneck speed.

You can't escape the burden of the poor, there is NOTHING you can do about it. Capitalism, socialism, whatever.. you HAVE to have a -judicious- social safety net because if you don't, you will have rampant crime FAR worse than it is now, rampant disease.. etc etc etc. I've seen too many people go through the tax supported 'system' and come out self supportive and a changed people. If it wasn't for the social net they would probably be dead. Fact is, you simply can't rely entirely on charitable organizations to take care of the necessary social net because of human nature and it's inherent irresponsibility, greediness and selfishness. I'm not a socialist but I do believe in strong counterweights to our current system of capitalism such as certain laws and of course, competition.

Anyways, Go Ron Paul, you are an extraordinary and RARE man.

LOL! Getting Ron Paul in office is your own delusion. He can't even win in Texas as a libertarian with his libertarian views. He has to lie to everyone and claim to be a republican! LOL! Either that or he's lying to everyone now claiming he's been a republican all his life which is a total lie since he ran for president at one point for the Libertarian party. I guess he's trying to rewrite history now. "Nanny" state is pretty #ing hilarious of you to use. Get a #ing clue would you? There's no such thing as a "nanny" state. What does a "nanny" do? A nanny babysits you sweetheart. A nanny doesn't pay you. You pay the nanny to watch your kids while you're at work or whatever. The nanny doesn't pay you dumbass.
