Well now I'm calling you ignorant. The last time I checked USSR was Communist. That's not socialism. It's the extreme of socialism but it's not socialism. Socialism believes the people own the government and thus they own everything. Communism believes the government owns everything and not the people. See the difference? That was easy wasn't it? Go to www.sp-usa.org... and read through the website and than come back okay? Venechava? Do you mean Venezuela? It might help if you spell it right...I'm just sayin.

Who are YOU calling ignorant?
Socialism...oh theres the future! Look at the wonders it has accomplished in the U.S.S.R ! no wait... Well let's admire the glory of Cuba... no ummm well let's humble ourselves and learn from East Germany! .... no that won't do.. hmmm All hail Venechava !
Let's test this logic! In this test lets replace the word "socialism" with the word "hot".
It's the extreme of socialism but it's not socialism.

I think I’m the only one in this debate that actually posted “homework”. Why don’t you try it, it makes your points a lot better.

In that I do not accept your deferment of ignorance. It soundly rest in your words. All hail Venechava! Go Ron Paul!

So why don't you stop talking about freedom and liberty since you're obviously a hypocrite. You can't live up to your rhetoric. You only have to have people in your prescene who you agree with. Calling someone a troll because they don't agree with you is quite funny and sad and pathetic. Oh and I'm not an elitist hun. I'm middle class who attends a community college. I guess that's now an elitist. And you obviously have no idea what socialism is. Why are a lot of poorer Latin American country's are into socialism if it's so elitist? I guess you've never thought to ask yourself that. Maybe you should open your heart and mind to other people's view points instead of your own petty thoughts and maybe you might learn something or see that your way a lone isn't the right way and other forms of government do work. If you want people to be for your libertarian government you're going to have to stop ignoring people who aren't for your ideas. Don't insult me and my intelligence by calling me a "troll" because I happen to be a socialist. Grow up before you try to run a country.

Very well, I will throw you one last bone.
Telling a combat veteran of the US Army to "grow up" is amusing. And before you ask, no I will not prove my service to you. The last thing I would ever feel obligated to do is to justify any portion of my life to a person like you.
Let me be, absolutely clear. I do not respect socialism, it's practices, or it's ideas. It serves to enslave the poor you claim to be defending. Through the stealing of the peoples labor, whether by force or aggressive taxation. Through nationalization of industry the production of the industrialist is stolen. And he/she is made to serve the community, not by choice, not by duty, but by force. Consequently every socialistic government ever attempted in the world has failed, and nearly always through bankruptcy.
The sad thing is, socialistic ideas are responsible for nearly every hardship this country is facing. We are facing an economic breakdown of unparalleled proportions.
Our current national public debt is over 9 trillion, our trade deficit is running at 14 trillion, and increasing by 800 billion every year. Our Obligations for Medicare and social security are pushing 52 trillion dollars. Added together and the sum you will come up with is a far greater number than what the entire land mass of the United States is worth. That number may be staggering, but it's not entirely accurate, since it does not calculate the trillions of dollars held by foreign countries in the form of treasury notes. We are nearly 230,000 dollars in the hole for every man woman and child in this country, illegal immigrants included. And why? Government, grossly mismanaged policies brought on you by the very thing you think is the answer to it all.
The debt is astronomical, it has become so bad that the value of our dollar is diminishing, fast. You think oil companies are just "sticking it to you" at the pump? Well they arn't. You can buy less gas now because the dollar is worthless. As other countries figure this out, they will return the treasuries they have in reserves in favor of something stronger. And when that money circulates back to our economy it will create a phenomenon known as hyper-inflation. If you think 3 bucks a gallon is bad, what until oil goes to 300 dollars a barrel.
No government is not the answer, it never was, the government has created a system of enslavement. A self generating debt that can never, not ever, be paid off. It is the reason families must work 2 jobs instead of 1. It is the reason for the suffrage of the poor.
Ron Paul's candidacy is about ending that slavery, about restoring your rights, about ending that self generating debt. It is about Staying out of our lives, and reigniting the industrial prowess of a once great republic.

I’m probably the only person that hasn’t “jumped up and down at you” either. I read every word you posted, you’ve been to busy playing games with people to refute any of my points.

Please, stop with the "drama-sponge" behavior.
Stop turning this thread, into a thread about YOU.
This is not about you. If you have an opinion, thats fine.
Others have an opinion as well.
No more cursing, no more name calling, no more circumventing the censors!!

I really don't care if you've served in the military with this discussion. There are plenty of people in the military who are still not grown up such as racist Nazi wannabe's. The military accepts them all the time so please don't act like your military service is supposed to be something great here in this debate with you still acting like a hypocritical jerk towards another poster because I have a totally different political opinion than you. That is still achild in my book. The last time I checked ATS is not of any specific political party. If things have changed since I first joined I did not get the memo. I am still allowed to post here and have my views and opinions as much as you are. The Constitution you like to talk about so much does not mean more to you because you served in the military. I have as much as a right to it than the next person on United States sole. So don't throw that # in my face because it is nothing more than a strawman and doesn't work. Get off your holier than thou bull. Another thing about socialism you need to learn is EVERYONE is treated as equals. So you being in the military under a socialist society doesn't make you any more special or important. Now that I'm done with that moving on:
You really need to do your research on socialism. Under socialism the people run the government and without the people and everyone participating than there is no government. Sound familiar? It should because it's what we have with our government. Our government is run by everyday citizen's. Some may have more money than others but they're still citizen's running the government. It's stolen? When you pay taxes that money is no longer yours period. Same thing if you give that money to someone else. They are free to do with it as they wish and with socialists we use the money to take care of everybody so in that sense everyone is getting useage of the money and the profits from that said money just through a different means such as a health care program or education program so people who can't afford high school or college can finally accomplish that. Look at Venezuela. You think it's socialism that's causing this country's breakdown? LOL! It's called capitalism. Maybe you've heard of it and privitization which George Bush is BIG on. Private contracts anyone? Well if my rights included needing an abortion, health care or wanting an education I guess I can screw that one. Oh and with abortion illegal I won't have all of the fourth amendment either. So again with the picking and choosing.
