....from all the MAYAN, etc stuff I have been reading and their relation to a topic like this, maybe this will sum it up better: we'll be able to SEE in multi-dimensions instead of just living in them. All the "orbs" and other things that are normally unseen to the human eye will become visable.

My fear is the things that could go wrong: pole shift, earthquakes, comets.... I saw a good depiction of the Milky Way galaxy and our placement somewhere. It showed up approaching a 'galactic equator' in 2012 w/ a 'dark rift' in the immediate area, which is why I wrote this paragraph.

I like this thread and think I'll flag.

I agree with you - it's a "big freeze" singularity - but I'm wondering about the period just before. As time becomes space-like and overall energy levels begin to rise asymptotically, would you be obliterated so fast you wouldn't have time to register it, or would you be stuck in your last moments?

From the observer's pov, there's probably no time dilation and you just stop.

Very likely. Quantum phyics has theorised that the possibilty exists for many domensions.
Ancient Aztec/Mayan believed that their ancients had experienced a very similar thing, they studied the satars so much that they are still considered the greatest astronomers of us all, they said that during a certain alignment of the stars and the galaxy with our planet and our Sun, a 'great awakening" would happen and all of mankind would "see". They mapped this alignment right to very day. And most astronomers agree, that on December the 21st, 2012, the Sun and our solar system will cross the cornia of the Galaxy's magnetic field. A black hole is said to reside in our galaxy centre, this could warp our very existence and could also propell us into a "forth" dimension.

I seriously cant wait for this... Im very excited about it. And yes, if nothing happens I will get very disappointed of course. But I do believe something will happen. There are too many different sources talking about it to just say "no, its nothing".

And I personally feel a strong urge to just "reboot" this world. It will only get worse with the current path mankind is on. Imagine 50 years from now or 100 years from now when you can wipe out a continent by clicking a button. Or other new weapons. The ones we have today are already horrible enough.

What about cloning, mind control, cybernetics, weather control and so on... I mean, god, who would want to live 50 years from now? Anyone believe in a good future? I know I dont.

There is no way humans will survive their technology without also having a spiritual development. Unless you enslave us all and build a new world order where we are nothing more than uneducated workers.

Basing this on the Nazi-Disney movie, The Black Hole, I guess we'd all die going into the thing, everything around us seems to be going REALLY fast while our mannerisms slow down..... the abstracts' 'blog' mentions a "cosmic catastrophe" and I wonder if that's it? Probably, since earthquakes, comets, etc seem like a walk in the parke compared to that.... need more research on this, could be "end times" at that point. Yuck. Of course *they* won't warn us about this, social structure would break down and people'll be offing themselves everywhere.

Sorry Copern, gotta disagree w/ you about "looking forward" to this, unless there is a rational explanation -- we're ruined. I can't understand 6 out of those 8 pages of MATH stats on this and I doubt most here do either, is there a MATH expert at ATS? We kinda need her/him asap.

Well, the simple fact that most cultures do NOT talk about how we all just die is enough for me to think there will be some kind of great unveiling for mankind.

I have a great respect for old prophecies, in a much larger degree than current science. Simply because I believe there is much more to this world than we currently can experience. Quantum physics is just starting to see it, but ancient civilizations already knew it. They knew we are all connected.

Then science came in and said that nothing that cant be proven or be measured and verified exist... :/

I hear you and usually am in total agreement w/ that sort of philosophy but that's the problem Copern, a philosophy! We HAVEN'T been to that portion of the galaxy yet and unless some MATH experts can tell me there's nothing to worry about regarding this abstract, I'll live out the rest of these years a little differently.

When they bring up EUCLID I started to cringe a little, at that point I know this is legit and we could be in for HELL on earth.... no wonder the MAYANS calendar ends, they're already 'guessing' we're all ruined.

The worse part is the abstract mentioned we're seeing this already and they mentioned Hubble a few times, which is why I think we need to break this discussion wide-open....

Lastly, the threads' title is misleading -- we're going to a 5th and upward (!?) dimension, not 4th, since we're already in the 4th -- that's time itself.

there is obviously much more to this world than what we can just percieve, it doesn't mean there will be an unvieling for us though, unless its designed specifically for us, i.e things outside our visual light spectrum enter our visual light spectrum i dont see their being much change for us at all. Imagine how a dog sees the world it largely uses its nose this is a world of scents and aromas, and certain bats use echo location imagine how they percieve the world, im tying myself in nots a bit basically unless things enter our sensory spectrum then they will not exist for us everything else would have to change because we are not capable of suddenly extending our human limitations, it doesnt mean things do not exist outside of these limitations but any noticable huge changes would have to be external ones

I dont know if that makes sense at all haha

Um, hell on earth? Where do you get that? If you check into the information about the Mayan calendar, you should come to another conclusion entirely.

1. Replaces current Gregorian calendar (Pope Gregory XII, 1582). Originally from Babylon.
2. The Dreamspell is a modern version of the main Mayan calendar. It has 13 months (moons), each month has 28 days.
3. It is a natural cycle calendar. It is the same as menstrual cycles and moon cycles. It stimulates synchronicity and telepathy.
4. The current year is YELLOW SOLAR SEED. It commenced on 26th July 2001.
5. The Dreamspell 13 moon Calendar is based on the Mayan calendar of wave harmonics and resonant fields - and the liberation of the mind.
6. The current Mayan calendar cycle covers the period 3113 BC to 2012 AD, 5125 years. Unlike other ancient calendars it has never been in error. All its predictions have been accurate.
7. The Mayans of Mexico were master mathematicians and time worshippers. They understood time and space more accurately than us. They knew that Planet Earth would come into synchronisation with the Universe by 2012 AD.
8. By 2012 we will have reached a total collapse of time as we know it and an entry of humanity into post history.
9. Part of the Mayan prophecy was the Harmonic Convergence Prophecy which said the Age of Materialism must end at this time and we must return to Nature to save ourselves and the planet, our biosphere.
10. Under the Gregorian calendar we are living a fundamental dog matic "error in time"
11. Use of the calendar in everyday life will help heal Planet Earth, break the vicious link
between time and money and bring oneness and understanding to humanity.
12. The Mayan prophecy says that we will soon not need money and about the same time we will have universal telepathy.

Just one source. Im sure you can find more.

Im not worried at all.

I haven't posted in awhile, due to the fact that I've been working a lot lately, but something that states that our 3 dimensions will become four is hilarious. If you took any science course pertaining to time-space, you would realize that we live in a 4 dimensional world already. Time gives us that 4th dimension. Seriously, read before you post such rubbish.

...and here's another source:

Today, modern astronomers, with advanced technological instruments, know that the center of the Milky Way galaxy contains an immense "black hole" which is constantly giving birth and swallowing stars. The Mayas had a glyph that represented a "black hole" in the center of our galaxy. How they were able to know this, no one knows. The Mayas tied their philosophy entirely on what they observed in the heavens. They thought that the center of our galaxy was a "Cosmic Mother Womb" and that it gave birth to our world. They believed that our world went through cycles of birth, death and rebirth. October 21, 2012, they said will end the cycle and our world will end by fire but will be reborn in a new, different and more evolved form. This will be the beginning of a new sun or the "Sixth Sun" according to the Mexicas (Aztecs)

....and another, including the infamous 'webbot' predictions:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Personally? I am not *worried* about 'it' -- "death's just death no matter how you dress it up." My point is, I'd rather live a life, enjoying the end, not tied into a capitalist society, instead, try to work w/ Earth for it's future.

Yes, thats also possible I guess. It goes with the hopi indian prophecy actually. They believe we are in our fourth civilization now (previous ones have been ended since humans were slaves to science and money and did not see the value of human life, much like we are now).

So yes, its possible, but other sources disagree.

And Im not afraid of dying either. In fact, id rather die than see the future I think we have ahead of us in this world if it continues in the direction it is now.

So either way (we die or evolve), Im happy.

Reading about this phenomena reminds me of the Star Trek movie
"Generations", where people could live in a NEXUS and experience
their own personal heaven. If that's what is coming, I'm all for it!

My point, Copern, is the SCIENCE/MATH involved in this. They seem to know what's up since they have access to the latest technology and that's why I'm begging for a expert in here to gauge how badly/quickly 'it' could get, wouldn't we see that BLACK HOLE in the center of the galaxy by now? If not, then by when? We gotta further the questioning about this, I have been feeling more 'telepathic' over the last two years and want to understand this completely.

Oh, and to the poster who mentioned we're in the 4th d already, we know, the threads' title is wrong and misleading, read the science abstract link, they mention the 5th dimension.

I think OP meant four "spatial" dimensions, whereas the dimension of time is traded for a fourth dimension of space.

We already know about the black hole in the center of our galaxy. Just google it and pick a source.

I also encourage you to read this thread which basically claims that we are not part of the milky way at all.

The OP seems to have misinterpreted the abstract of this paper. Reading the whole thing makes it quite clear that they're talking about a completely theoretical event - they show that a certain kind of singularity (which we have no reason to expect to happen) would look like one thing in "conventional" theories such as general relativity would look like something else in string theory ("braneworlds" are a crucial concept in string theory). This paper is *not* saying that this thing will actually happen, just demonstrating some cool maths and highlighting differences between string theories and other theories of space-time.

Yes, that theory was also suggested by McKenna and his Timewave Zero theory. Its basically a mathematical theory that shows the time of historic significant events, and McKenna believed that since it shows the history, it will also predict the future.

The interesting thing is that his model of time stops at december 21, 2012 as well, going straight upwards into infinity. He believed human kind would be able to travel in time at that date.

Here is a youtube clip.

The Mayan calendar doesn't end in 2012. It's just the end of a 26,000 year cycle, 26,000 years being one of the units they use to measure time.

Has anyone read Terence McKenna? He studied this 2012 thing independently of the Mayans and came up with finally, Dec. 21, 2012 and then found out about the Mayan calendar. He maintains that "the way in which we mark time will change", which would fit in quite well with the time changing thing. We could end up getting swept up into that black hole that's in the Milky Way and actually, I don't think we know enough about black holes to have any idea how that would effect us.
Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
