actually, I don't need to waste time telling you the truth.
The only way for China to keep its territory integrity is military build up.

Of course not,
I can fully understand the aspiration of USA to split other countries
No one want a strong rival, right?
If China one day exceed USA and becommes top power in the world,
I believe China will do the same.
I think we will provoke Mexico to get back the territory robbed by force.
we will fund Hawaii independence movement.
we will encourage Russian to redeem Alaska
we will persuade south part of USA that they should separate from north.
we will support American native Indian to take back all territory belong to them.
.......
don't worry, that day will come sooner or later.

Quite the contrary. A strong rival is a good excuse for a higher military budget. What do you think the war on terror has done for the US military industrial complex? Perceived threats get tons of funds, along with the support of nationalistic patrons.
It also gives the government more power over its own people.

So, terrorists are strong rival of USA in your eyes?
I don't think your government will agree with you.
the war on terror is just a war between rat and elephant.
Yes, you get "higher military budget", but at the same time you owe
your real rival a lot. so that when a mid-level official of the real rival
suggested to diversify their foreign exchange reserve, a panic occured in USA.
I understand why you got the "support of nationalistic patrons"
if terrorist attacks you,
I hope you can also understand why more and more USA-lover in China
converted to USA-hater while USA attempted to split their country.
don't to be near eye sight, let's take it in long run.
we Chinese had been leading the world for thousands of years,
only be beaten down for hundred of years.your USA became hegemony only for hundred of years and you won't expect
you can dominate the world for another hundred of years.
If I were you I wouldn't have been that optimistic about USA's future:-)
We see American just as parvenu.:-):-)
understand?

Of course not, however, it does explain a "cause" for a higher military budget.
The CIA was accused of over-hyping the soviet threat, they did this as a form of justification for a higher military budget. I view the terrorists threat similarly.

China is not Americas largest financier, China would also suffer major economic consequences if they would even think to do that.
Regardless, the US could just do what so many nations have done in the past, the US could simply nationalize all foreign investment, thus disregarding all foreign debt, the US debt would be gone over night.
The US does not need the world, the world is a simple convenience to us. It is the world who needs the US.

The US wants a free democratic china. Some think that this would result in a dissolve of the current Chinese state. Some think a democratic china would push a peaceful reunification of Taiwan, Taiwan who enjoys much more freedom, then mainland china currently does.

You have already been exposed. Your biased, communist opinion isn't worth much to me...Especially in regards of your thoughts on America.
