Did I say I supported the past bloodshed?
Nope, sure didn't. And for your information I hate what they did back then.
But I was not alive and have no ability to effect those events.

But you didn't answer my question.
Did your people like Gangis Khan?

Don't change topic,
if the territory was taken illegally, bloodly, tyrannically...by your predecessor
what you should do is: give it back to the real owner and say sorry, OK?

It is part of the topic you don't want to answer the question because we both know the answer.
The answer as to whether your people like Gangis Khan or even Britain when they attempted to take you over, and the answer is not very much.
Yet you think its fine for you to do it to others
All the while decrying everyone else's evils.

And return it to the rightful owner. Rrrriiiiggghhhhttttt.

Like China did with Tibet? Military invasion to the hilt.
Like China wants to bloodly stomp Taiwan's want for independence?

Tibet became a part of China in Qing dynasty, much earlier than
your grabing Indian territory, and it was completely peaceful.
the full name of Chinese mainland is people's republic of CHINA
the full name of Taiwan island is republic of CHINA
have you noticed any thing? yes, both have the word CHINA.
We are much much much much more legal to own those territory than
the rescal hegemony for its territory.

By right of conquest.
Go ahead and continue your rhetoric.
And you called those territories of CHINA after you invaded them.
How good for you.
Too bad the people there don't want you there.
I shall now just grin and nod.
And its Native Americans of which I am one of them in part, Cherokee if you want to get technical. There are after all many tribes. Not so many as once before but eh.

actually, I don't need to waste time telling you the truth.
The only way for China to keep its territory integrity is military build up.
so that the rascal hegemony don't dare to intervene in our inner affair.
that is all.
I have to have supper, bye.

Perhaps because he has throughly thrashed what has been proven to be "your biased opinion?"

They do so at the expense of tens of millions of Chinese who starve.

I can fully understand the aspiration of USA to split other countries
No one want a strong rival, right?

Quite the contrary. A strong rival is a good excuse for a higher military budget. What do you think the war on terror has done for the US military industrial complex? Perceived threats get tons of funds, along with the support of nationalistic patrons.

It also gives the government more power over its own people.

If China one day exceed USA and becommes top power in the world,
I believe China will do the same.
I think we will provoke Mexico to get back the territory robbed by force.
we will fund Hawaii independence movement.
we will encourage Russian to redeem Alaska
we will persuade south part of USA that they should separate from north.
we will support American native Indian to take back all territory belong to them.
.......
don't worry, that day will come sooner or later.

Now, this....This is a chin-com wet dream right here!

I don't think your government will agree with you.
the war on terror is just a war between rat and elephant.
Yes, you get "higher military budget", but at the same time you owe
your real rival a lot. so that when a mid-level official of the real rival
suggested to diversify their foreign exchange reserve, a panic occured in USA.
I understand why you got the "support of nationalistic patrons"
if terrorist attacks you,
I hope you can also understand why more and more USA-lover in China
converted to USA-hater while USA attempted to split their country.

don't to be near eye sight, let's take it in long run.
we Chinese had been leading the world for thousands of years,
only be beaten down for hundred of years.
your USA became hegemony only for hundred of years and you won't expect
you can dominate the world for another hundred of years.
If I were you I wouldn't have been that optimistic about USA's future:-)
We see American just as parvenu.:-):-)
understand?

For years China has been touted as a "test Govt" for a supposed New World Order. I have to say the way they treat people there is unreal.

Of course not, however, it does explain a "cause" for a higher military budget.

The CIA was accused of over-hyping the soviet threat, they did this as a form of justification for a higher military budget. I view the terrorists threat similarly.

China is not Americas largest financier, China would also suffer major economic consequences if they would even think to do that.

Regardless, the US could just do what so many nations have done in the past, the US could simply nationalize all foreign investment, thus disregarding all foreign debt, the US debt would be gone over night.

The US does not need the world, the world is a simple convenience to us. It is the world who needs the US.

The US wants a free democratic china. Some think that this would result in a dissolve of the current Chinese state. Some think a democratic china would push a peaceful reunification of Taiwan, Taiwan who enjoys much more freedom, then mainland china currently does.

The US, is a benevolent empire compared to empires of the past.

You have already been exposed. Your biased, communist opinion isn't worth much to me...Especially in regards of your thoughts on America.

that is just my expectation, soon a new leader who oppose independence will take power
in Taiwan, that is a Chance for USA to do something.

Come on, that is not my opinion, but the opinion of two of my favourite American experts
Jim Rogers and George Soros. they are pessimistic of USA's future.

How long as it been since China has fought a war? They have never engaged in a modern full scale war with Air, Naval, and Land forces. Not to mention, the USA has the Marines.

Agreed

I was going to try to post in this thread, but it's become another pointless hypernationalist "mine's bigger than yours" wankfest

Yeah, my dad can beat up your dad too, kids

I really wanted to find solid data, hell even blatant speculation, on China's military modernization.

But all I get is a whole heap of childish bickering.
