Serious, if this is his true message, i feel obliged to say that i can follow his points of view.
It doesn't seem that he's out for war, but just wants to give some information about the views of Islam on the world today...

I am starting to believe that we are doomed. I'm guessing you are fairly young? Someone mentioned in a thread...this or perhaps another one...that this latest message would have appeal to young people who are predisposed to be anti-capitalism. This is a frightening possibility.

I can't believe it is that easy to gain followers. I think it is important to study OBL's past messages and history before signing up for AQ ROTC.

I would say yes, except for the fact that this administration went out of it's way to link Iraq to 9/11.

If the text is true, I think OBL is a great mind in a dirty world...

Third, Before many of you were even born I was up to my nose in topics like the ones on ATS and i do understand the importance of digging information out of many places in the field.
So instead of being so, how do you say this, warped by a reply. Inform yourself and try to make your own opinion instead of being fearfull of someone elses...

I apologize for assuming you are young. I'm a bit surprised you aren't more familiar with Bin Laden and his history. I would have had the same reaction had someone written, "You know, I don't know much about him but that Hitler guy's message really resonated with me."

I note that you have suggested that I inform myself which on this board seems to be code for, "you don't agree with me." I am very educated in OBL's history, his past messages and his past actions. I am also very well informed on AQ's terrorist attacks across the globe.

It is indeed a free world but I have to tell you, if this world becomes a place in which Bin Laden's message is as well received as it has been by some here, we are in serious, serious danger.

You are talking about a man who has ordered the intentional murder of thousands of innocent people in the US, Israel, Africa and Europe. I'm not certain how that kind of a person's message is attractive to intelligent people...which you certainly seem to be.

my personal opinion is he croaked years ago (as reported) and is now just a convenient image of hatred to be used against us to keep our attention + fear levels up so we support anti terrorism laws + overseas military actions.

Why can't it be AQ themselves keeping him alive through video? They gain as much from this as anyone else could by keeping support strong.

I do not believe (if you buy into the 'inside job theory) that such an attack would occur on a date when the air force stands down to "review procedures". It would simply be too over the top obvious.

It was meer sarcasm, although Osama hasnt appeared with a black trimmed beard in any video in the past years, whilst apparently living in Afganistan.
Why the sudden change in appearance. IMO he has a more manicured appearance in his latest released video, than any previous videos I have seen, including photos Ive seen of him, whilst fighting the soviets.
Note the robes, no assault rifle and gone are the camo military fatigues.
He has not only put on weight, but it appears his skull circumference has actually grown significantly. Bone size generally doesnt increase with weight gain.

This is why I supplied the comparison photos, with the underlying suggestion he may not be in Afganistan (cave).

Boondock, you should put a little more consideradition into people posts, before ranting.

well i guess thats another very plausible possibility, but in some vids he has a watch or rings which i thought werent acceptable in islam? (or any jewellery)

Then another man who had dyed himself with yellow dye, passed by, he said: This is better than all that.

What this means that radical Islamists don't dye their hair black, period. Sure they dye their hair, but radicals usually use henna only and this gives their hair a reddish tint. In Osama's world, black hair = he will not get into Paradise, I think everything else is okay, just not black, but then of course he's on the run, or on a special mission so......nah, they should do better research next time.
