SouthernMan, et al:

Viral Marketing

Basically, it's a way to build up a huge hyped-up following and anticipation in advance (in this case, if true) of the release of , e.g., a movie...

Are you sure? It doesn't even look like one side of the line lines up with the other.

Yeah, it's bent. In fairness, there are other areas on the same line that aren't exactly straight either. I think these are the phone lines as they appear to be below the top electrical lines.

Hmmm, okay then. We have one of the FATHERS of PHOTOSHOP, David Biedny (google that name) who knows it's CGI and YOU feel the need to "preach" to us about thinking outside the box?

I am all for having an open mind but I am not going to let my brain fall out mate.

Going forward, I suggest you add your ON TOPIC commentary and speculation without the personal jibes.

Springer...

Springer,

If you read back a bit you'll see we were not discussing whether or not this was CGI. Schuler was supposing for sake of discussion that we look at this thing as a real object. He then went onto to illustrate it was fake because it did not have any aerodynamic qualities. I simply illustrated a differing point of view that the object would seem to represent a higher technology, far beyond conventional aerodynamics.

But is there something wrong with us discussing a hypothetical?

Nope. I agree. But how about this?

rest of obvious dribble snipped

or this:

I know it may hurt but you if to think outside the box to grasp these concepts.

I think maybe that kind of thing was what he was talking about.

for what it's worth:

sectorseven.com has been around for years, and the domain is owned by paramount:
whois.domaintools.com...

vector-sgima.com is only a month or so old and owned by paramount:
whois.domaintools.com...

lot's of renders from the film here. i believe most of them are from ilm, but there are several shops involved on the cg. many examples of the possible rendering techniques used in the "object" photos:

transformers production blog

but i still don't see any renders, ships, or designs that are stylistically similar to the "object".

It's kind of hard to believe. It could easily be the same person who has no life whatsoever. But it looks credible. I'm not a specialist at this, so my initial thought would be: Wow. It's an extraterrestrial flying object.

But since anti-gravity has been done before, maybe the army or the government are behind this project?

why this phrase is in the domain info, i dunno.

in hoc signo vinces: In this sign thou shalt conquer. (The motto is said to have been adopted by Constantine after his vision of a cross in the heavens just before his decisive battle with Maxentius, A.D. 312.)

could we call the "object" a cross?
i know others have already...

Don’t know if anyone has brought this up yet, but if I created this as a CGI and wanted to pull a hoax, I would most certainly print it out Hi Res on my printer using photo paper, Then Scan it back in to my computer to smoothen it out and give it a consistent look
Anyone agree with that?

You can edit your own domain information. (I have a couple of domains and used to deal with several more.) That isn't a required field, but that is still curious. Not only do you have the phrase, you have what appears to be a fake phone number for no good reason. Curious behavior.

what bright hoaxer would be clever enough to scan, but stupid enough to name the file "Scan"?

you want everone to believe it's a scan so you can claim it's a photo

yes, well versed in domain reg stuff.

but are these object images part of an arg for the transformers film?

it's seeming that way, but trying to picture the "object" in the transformers universe doesn't work.
the object is stylistically very different from all the film assets that are out.

for some reason I thought the claim was these latest pic's were taken with film , I stand to be corrected

I know a few groups have that as their motto or somewhere with regards to there organiztion from a fraternity to a freemason group to this:

* George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party, wrote a political manifesto called In hoc signo vinces in 1960.

It can mean anything. Maybe it was the guys favorite phrase...maybe is is part of the frat..freemason group, nazi party,,etc that uses that motto

People have mentionned the viral marketing angle in this thread and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Trent Reznor did this sort of thing recently with the newest Nine Inch Nails release... Creating a myriad of websites, planting objects within various cities as well as several phone numbers that gave out messages and info is the norm.

I wouldn't rule this possibility out either, quite frankly.

What about the 300+ ex military and government officials who have testified to have had experiences of objects that exhibit anti-gravity type propulsion?

What about all the videos of these types of objects and the eyewitness testimonies? Whether created by Aliens or humans, I believe this technology exists and is already being utilized here on Earth...

curiosity got the better of me.

5 min tweak of ilm render with the capitola image to get an idea how ilm's work looks in contrast to the photo. probably should do a better job of ps work, but it's late and i've now spent an obscene amount of time following all this;

*i apologize in advance if i am currently, in any way, an unwilling and unknowing partner in any sort of viral marketing campaign.

Sure we all believe the ETs are using it but the official stance of the government is that ETs and their anti-grav craft don't exist. So basically it's all hearsay. If they did have anti-gravity don't you think they'd be using it instead of rockets to get into space?
