It was a typo. I meant to say "I know it may hurt but you need to think outside the box to grasp these concepts". I'm not meaning to slight you in any way. What I want to do is to help you to think with a more open mind. I know you are an intelligent guy but you may not have much of an imagination. It seems you can only think in Earthly, conventional terms. I'm not meaning to berate you. My oldest boy is the same way. By many estimations he's a genius and is a 4.5 gpa student and is tops at his school in AP calculus and AP physics. But as far as I can tell he has little imagination.

My guesses at the purpose of the objects appendages are simply that, guesses. But that is what the imagination is for.

Don't know if anyone covered this already,

But this article states that Chad got the pictures in Lake Tahoe, and some over central California.

(For those who were wondering on the front page.)

well thx to mind control the story dies down pretty quick as with all things alien so maybe we should ask the government

To tell you the truth, I don't know for a fact that they are real. But all of the mountains of evidence would suggest they are. I'm in agreement with you about this case.

But to all UFO buffs and disclosure seekers. Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.

I'm confused. How do you agree with me about this case? You certainly seem to be defending it. I on the other hand have thought it a hoax from day one back on the original C2C thread.

Hmmm, okay then. We have one of the FATHERS of PHOTOSHOP, David Biedny (google that name) who knows it's CGI and YOU feel the need to "preach" to us about thinking outside the box?

I am all for having an open mind but I am not going to let my brain fall out mate.

Going forward, I suggest you add your ON TOPIC commentary and speculation without the personal jibes.

Springer...

Springer,

If you read back a bit you'll see we were not discussing whether or not this was CGI. Schuler was supposing for sake of discussion that we look at this thing as a real object. He then went onto to illustrate it was fake because it did not have any aerodynamic qualities. I simply illustrated a differing point of view that the object would seem to represent a higher technology, far beyond conventional aerodynamics.

But is there something wrong with us discussing a hypothetical?

Oh, calm down. As you may or may not know, UFO discussions also frequently include examination of hoaxes. It's all a traditional part of the territory, with a 50-year history. Unless we have a firm grasp of what could be hoaxed and how, what's to prevent us from accepting every clever bit of art that comes down the pike? Discussions of hoaxes sharpen our collective Occam's Razor.

Of course, the photos in both cases fail instantly on the Number One criteria for accepting them as legitimate: Identity of the Source.

We can debate until the cows come home about whether or not the thing looks "real," but it all amounts to exactly diddly squat if from the very beginning we can't identify who the pictures came from. If they come from Mr. Anonymous, or whatever other nom de plume he decides to use for the day, then they instantly get filed in the junk category, and from then on should only be considered a mild amusement.

I can't repeat this enough. Without an identified, legitimate source, they're worthless. Simple as that.

Even if the supposed witness wishes to remain anonymous for some unknown reason, they can still present the photos through an agent or somebody with at least some degree of credibility. If it was me, I'd choose Brian Vike, who can be found easily on the Internet. Upon my request, he would keep my identity confidential, yet still present the material with authority. Not that it would instantly preclude a hoax, but at least there would be some accountability on some level, not just pure, unverifiable anonymity.

No name, no game.

I've seen the "viral marketiing campaign" disinformation in this thread several times now. Not the first time though.

I don't remember what it exactly was I was agreeing about. But as far as the hoax/no hoax arguement goes, I'm actually on the fence. But I like to discuss the ET craft side because frankly that side is so much more fascinating and if it's true I'd like to be prepared, especially because I live in California.

Notice the thick power line directly under the forward probe as the object in question passes behind it. This is a fake.

That line has a lighter color line that goes around it and at that point of the image it is obstructing the main line.

Are you sure? It doesn't even look like one side of the line lines up with the other.

Just follow the line to either direction from that point and you see the same effect many times.

Well, the power line is wrapped around the steel restraint wire, but it sure is a coincidence that it just so happens to wrap in such a way to disappear, and at just the point that the arm of the object is above that point.

It may be a fake, but it's not an altered version of the photo that is going to prove it.

This is just a zoomed version of the original photo as posted on Flickr.

Do you see the cable now?

Edit: Just to clarify, I do not mean to say that you altered the image just to show that it was fake because of the cable.

No, I did not alter it. Is it your opinion that my zoom function may have distorted the pic? I'm using Firehand Ember ver 5.2.3 What are you using?

Thanks Springer ---

I just spent an hour going through the Sector Seven sight. Check the 'hidden' links - look at reflections in windows, photos, etc. Behavior of NBE 125, and esp NBE 57, plus the whole "StopSectorSeven" campaign, in addition to the cross-linking to paramount, the similarities in the symbology/writing, a whole range of marketing nuances - this thing is beginning to head down a possible viral marketing campaign in advance of the transformers movie release set for July 4th.

If it looks like a duck, smells a duck...

Dang - I hope I'm so wrong on this...

Ever seen those forum hoaxes where one poster played multiple personalities and argued with him/herself for months?

Some people have WAY too much time on their hands.

[edit on 5/21/2007 by eaglewingz]

I wouldn't be surprised if a video appears. Someone is working really hard on it. There must be a good motivation, naturally money. Viral marketing is a big possibility.

Its possible to do realistic videos like this :
