It is a work of man, not of God, that much is clearly evident. The bible's God seems oh so human...

But, I'm still left wondering where all of the specifics of your beliefs come from. Could you elaborate a little more on where it comes from or how you came to these conclusions?

From the New American Bible: Genisis 1
26
4 Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground."

God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.

You have done a relatively good job of summing up my beliefs on the whole "Man is God's Image" debate. Is there any other statement that a human can make that is more arrogant??? To declare that we are made in the image of God... It's laughable, honestly. We are nothing like God, and God is certainly nothing like us, even if something as mundane as physical looks could apply to God... Just my beliefs on the subject.

Well how about that evidence that the Bible is the work of man.
Please post the false prophecies. If you run out of room let me know.
Can you even find one.............NOPE.

To claim that my race (the same race that rapes it's homeworld, genocides itself, and generally infects everything like a McDonald's-Wrapper-Hurling virus) is the image of God is to imply that God has the same mentality. It's insanity to declare that God is all-knowing and all-loving, and the go on to state that God is essentially human in nature. To the workings of existence, I am still pretty blind, but I can still see that God is nothing like us.

Well.............maybe you should consider SIN. Man has SINNED.....God doesn't. Man was created in the image of God but has a sin nature.

You my friend seem to be very mislead.
God is and always has been the God of love. Here is the answer to your confusion.
God created man in his own image.
God gave man free will.
He basically said choose me and love me and you will be fulfilled, Choose selfishness and sin and you'll see wat happens.
The point is, he gave us a choice. He couldnt create a race of zombies and say "YOU WILL LOVE ME" because thats not love is it?? and how could he love us if we were?

I'm sorry your not quite getting wat im saying SatansQue.
God doesnt need us, but he gave us life as a gift. To share what wonders there are in the universe with him. Ur failing to see my point.
It all comes down to choice. Its not a game to test our spirits. Its a simple equation. Choose God and you will live life eternal as he wanted. Dont choose God (adam and eve) and you get the alternative (A world full of sin).

I can understand your arguement SatansQue, and to anyone truely pesimistic by nature which im sure most of us are, it holds alot of truth. But truth is only as true as the source you learn it from.

You see the main thing that gets me is if I was honestly asked wether or not to have a life or a spirit I would have to be concious already. And I for one am glad I was given conciousness.

But to be fair you paint the world as a very negative terrible place. There is alot of evil out there your right. And how does this seem fair to be placed so cruely in a realm where we are tempted and hurt and confused but evil all the time.

But if every 1 were asked if they would rather have never had existed at all I can quite confidantly say the majority would say they choose life.
